395. Make Ragnar Great

Only a few months were left before he would officially take the crown. To make sure that his popularity was at its peak, he needed to do all he could to bring even those people who were against monarchy into the fold.0

His companies were always making something new and achieving something revolutionary, but sadly those could not be attributed to him only. And he owned so many businesses that most people didn't even know he owned them, all they knew was that he was the owner of Dragon Holdings, which was a big corporation.

Hence, personal inventions were extremely important. But sometimes even public announcements can do the job. For example, "PRINCE MAGNUS WILL GO TO THE MOON!"

Yes, before he took the throne he was going to head to the moon, and then in a few years, hopefully, Mars, becoming the first man to step foot on the red planet. However, the thing was, he needed to first prove that he was not just doing it because he was rich, that would be very bad for his reputation.

The plan was for Magnus, Ragnar and Bobby to go up first. Bobby was a renowned scientist, Magnus was a renowned inventor, Ragnar was nothing. He was not known in the muggle world and remains a mystery to most. In the wizarding world, he was hailed as the greatest potioneer of millennia, however.

"Stop pestering me, man. I am trying to design new rune tattoos for myself. Who cares what the world thinks about me? Just sneak me into the aircraft." Ragnar complained, as he was disturbed in his Hogwarts lab, it was now not just limited to his room. Being a 7th-year student, a genius and having a brother who had the Wizarding Britain by the balls, he was allowed to have a huge potions lab with exclusive access.

"You fool, it's not a bus where you can just shove in the people. And the entire world will be covering the news, we need to give the three names of people who will be going to space. *Sigh* You know, just give me a list of all the things you have invented and I will try to find a muggle world use for it." He scolded him.

"Ugh... fine." He relented and spend 3 minutes writing everything as fast as he could. "Take it, don't bother me now, I am near a breakthrough,"

Magnus left him alone and returned home, it was still the holidays, after all, Christmas had passed but the new year was to come, and Emma's parents were also there.

"Whatcha doing?" Clementia skipped to him and sat beside his table, cutely putting her chin on the table. He ruffled her hair like she was a cat.

"Trying to make Ragnar look smart?" He replied.

"Is big brother Ragnar stupid?" She asked.

Magnus strongly nodded, "Yes dear, he is very stupid in everything other than potions."

"And you?" She inquired.

"What do you think?" He passed the question.

Clementia looked at his face with narrow eyes, "Hmmm... You are the greatest!"

"Haha... Absolutely right, now, let's go downstairs, I need keys from dad." He extended his hand to her, she grabbed just the index finger.

Adam and Emma's dad were buddies already as they had visited once before. They sat in the living room and talked about the state of the world. Emma's dad was totally new to the muggle world so he was loving all the new interesting information and history. For example, he had no idea that a vast muggle British Empire existed, since, for Wizards, the world was already too small and connected due to Portkeys.

Meanwhile, Adam was finding it interesting to know how ancient magic was and how it stayed hidden.

"Dad, I need keys to your workshop, got to do some experiments." He requested.

Adam fiddled in his pocket and took out a key, "What are you going to make?"

"Ragnar found a way to melt plastic into a liquid that can later be dried into a hard substance, I need to check its durability and drawbacks. And if it's all good, he might just become one of the most loved people in the world. Seriously, why am I even working for him." He sighed and left for the underground experiment lab.

Of course, no kids were allowed inside as there were too many dangers. He closed the door and turned the lights on, his eyes shined as the scenery took home in his eyes, the entire giant hall was filled with machinery and tools, some items were covered with sheets, possibly unfinished projects of Adam.

He had no work for them, going to an empty area, he started experimenting. The first thing was Ragnar's solution that could turn the Plastic into this new substance. It was like making potions, but not really. All that was needed was to pour already made potions and plastic into a big container and then boil it all down with water.

"Hmm, damn, it stinks," he clenched his nose with fingers, running to turn on the exhaust fans. After that, he started to gather some items while letting the plastic turn into a paste.

"Hmm... a few electric motors, pumps, computer chips, Oh... I don't have any, FUCK!" He quickly called Bobby.

"Bobby, my brother from another mother, bring a few programmable computer chips, will ya? And bring some butter as well, gotta eat some pancakes at dinner with family, oh one more thing, remember those porn magazines I ordered for Ragnar's birthday present, pick them up from the post office and be... *BEEP BEEP* " The call was suddenly cut for some reason.

Bobby was in a very important meeting where CEOs of a few major corporations and politicians of some nations were present. Since the meeting was happening in his office, the non-work telephone went to automatic recording and resounded.

Initially, Bobby didn't mind, Magnus was just asking for some computer chips, he was going to head to his home with family for the dinner anyway. But then the nonsense started, first the butter and then porn magazines. He quickly got up to take the wire out of the phone.

Turning, back, he sat down in his seat like nothing even happened and continued the meeting to produce Thorium Reactors in a few nations.

By evening, Magnus was able to create everything, he created a machine that had a motorised robotic looking arm that could extend itself to a height of 10 metres and move in all directions, with its base connected to a metal mini chain-track. All that was missing was the computer chip to programme the metal arm.

"MAGNUS! YOU DIMWIT!" Bobby's shout came all of a sudden.

He looked, there stood his old pal, in casual winter clothes, a nice red hand-knit sweater was the real charmer. "Didn't aunt make a sweater for me?"

"Shove it down your ass, fool. Do you have any idea how embarrassed I was?" Bobby burst like a balloon.

But Magnus didn't care, "You got the chip?"

"Oh, yeah, I got some, what are you making?" That was the extent of his anger. No wonder Magnus didn't take it seriously.

"My friend, I am creating the world's first house printing machine. Ragnar came up with a way to help me recycle plastic into a material that can solidify after. With this machine I am making, we can create single storey homes with an attic and 3 storey homes with some metal beams as pillars. This is like tackling two problems in one go, getting rid of plastic and solving home crises in many poor nations around the world." Magnus revealed his grand plan to make Ragnar famous.

Bobby nodded, not that shocked by this, there were already ways to recycle or destroy plastic out there but they were too costly and harmful in themselves. As he was researching nuclear fusion, nothing could shock him anymore: "You do know that plastic making is a multi-billion dollar industry? There is a reason why the tags for recycling and Plastic Resin codes are similar. It is to fool the world.

"There is a reason why companies suggest to people that they throw away their plastic because there is no money if one uses a polythene bag again and again. And the best part, the world is addicted to oil right now, plastic is made from its byproduct, why do you think people will ever stop using plastic? You won't just go against plastic companies but also oil companies, and let me tell you, it's super dangerous."

But Magnus shrugged, "Meh, who cares. The bounty on my head already stands at more than 200 million dollars, who cares if it increases. If it gets too much I will just fake my death, get the money and then return to life... Bwahahaha..."
