"Why not? A charity party needs dedication from a wealthy person like you!" Jing Rui glanced over and saw Ning Qianyu carrying the dishes out from the kitchen. His eyes sparkled and said, "Maybe there will be some unexpected gain…"

"Don't tell me you're too bored, that's why you want me to accompany you, am I right?" Mu Shengchen rolled his eyes at him. Was it not fun enough to go alone, but wanted to drag him along too? He then turned his head around and saw Ye Xi helping Ning Qianyu to carry the dishes out from the kitchen. At that moment, Mu Shengchen's gaze sunk as it darkened.

"Yes. It's a deal then!" Jing Rui was afraid that Mu Shengchen would go back on his word.

"Alright, it's a deal," Mu Shengchen was distracted, he did not realized that he had agreed to go to the charity party with Jing Rui.

Mu Shengchen only came back to his senses when Ye Xi walked out of the kitchen and called them for dinner.

"Time for dinner!" Jing Rui jumped up from the couch and pushed Mu Shengchen towards the dining room.

Mu Shengchen sat on the right, and Ye Xi sat across him, filling a bowl of rice for him. Ning Qianyu brought the soup out of the kitchen and was about to sit next to Ye Xi, however, she was stopped by Jing Rui.

"Miss Ning, I have something to discuss with Ye Xi. Take the seat beside Shengchen instead," With that, Jing Rui sat right next to Ye Xi, regardless of whether Ning Qianyu agreed or not.

Ye Xi blinked his eyes and smiled as if he understood his intention.

Ning Qianyu hesitated for a moment then she took a seat beside Mu Shengchen.

On the dining table, there were four dishes and a bowl of soup. They were all homely food that tasted ordinary, not comparable to the food in the restaurant, yet filled they were with love.

"Miss Ning, your culinary skills are pretty good!" Jing Rui was praised her generously.

"Thank you," Ning Qianyu held a pair of chopsticks in her left hand, eating the rice unsteadily.

"Sorry to trouble you to cook us dinner even when your arm is injured and thanks for the hard work," Jing Rui's gaze fell on Ning Qianyu's left hand, which was holding chopsticks.

Mu Shengchen, who was beside her, turned his gaze and noticed something, "Ye Xi, go downstairs and buy a spoon."

Ye Xi immediately stood up and was about to leave.

Ning Qianyu called out to him, "There's no need to go through all that trouble. I can just use the chopsticks."

Ye Xi looked towards Mu Shengchen, who nodded and sat back down.

Ning Qianyu lowered her head, continued eating the rice. Suddenly, a piece of fish belly was placed in her bowl. She then lifted her and saw Mu Shengchen averted his gazes.0

Jing Rui, who had been secretly observing both of them, snickered. If they said that there was nothing going on between them, he, Jing Rui, would rename his name backwards.

It was until Jing Rui received a call, he stood up in a hurry, "Shengchen, there's something going on, so I'll need to leave first."

After Jing Rui and Ye Xi left, Mu Shengchen and Ning Qianyu were the only one remained at the table.

The two remained silent, one of them was picking up the food with chopsticks, while another was eating. It was as if they had been together for decades.

After dinner, Ning Qianyu got up and clean up the table, but was stopped by Mu Shengchen, "Leave it for Ye Xi to clean up."

Ning Qianyu was stupefied. "It's fine. I'll clean them up quickly."

Mu Shengchen pursed his lips and stared at Ning Qianyu, who was holding the plate with her left hand and carefully protecting them with her right.

Finally, he moved his wheelchair and followed her into the kitchen. "Let me do it!"
