11 Go With Me

Nuri’s POV

I was surprised to see Manolo come to my camp.

As the only descendant of the mermaid, Manolo seldom shows his face in public, but I saw him twice today.

“What's your emergency?” It was dark, and if there was no emergency, I couldn't imagine why he was here.

“May I go to the south with you tomorrow?”

“Why?” I raised an eyebrow.

If Manolo can come with me to find the dragon scale, I won't have to think about bringing my wife.

There may be difficulties along the way. I frowned at the memory of her thin body.

Manolo smiled. “I've been a recluse for so long, and it's time to go south and find the Chief Witch. I have some doubts and need her to read. You know, as mermaids, we have a rule that we can only predict other people's fates, not our own.”

I nodded. “But hasn't the Chief Witch been gone for years?”

“Some say she's dead, some say she's in hiding, but I want to find out for myself.”

“No problem. You're welcome to join me. If there's anything you need, feel free to ask.”

“Sir Nuri Rodriguez, if you don't mind, please bring your wife, Princess Sibyl.”

I made no reply, looking at him with an inquisitive eye.

I don't like other men to say my wife's name.

“You know my wife?” I said the word wife slowly on purpose.

“For the past 10 years, I have been living in the library of the palace. There are many rare ancient books in the library, including a book on the Dragon Scale...”

I'll keep listening. His words were the same as my wife's, and it seemed that there was indeed such a precious book in the palace.

“But the book was burned before I read it. It's a pity.”

“What does this have to do with my wife?”

“Princess Sibyl is the only one who has read the book, so please treat her well. We need her.”

I chuckled, wiped my sword with silk, and answered him indifferently, “I didn't know my wife was so important, and I didn't know you cared so much about whether my wife was happy in my home.”

Manolo still maintains his elegance and gentleness. “Whatever happened before, Princess Sibyl is innocent.”

I interrupted. “She's not Princess Sibyl now. She's Mrs. Rodriguez.”

Manolo nod. “I hope Mrs. Rodriguez will join us in the search for the Dragon Scale. After all, she is the only one who knows how to tell the difference between real and fake.”

I continued to sharpen my sword. As head of the Rodriguez family, I don't need anyone to tell me what to do.

Manolo bends slightly to show politeness and leaves the room.

I threw my sword angrily to the ground.

Princess Sibyl, even if I do not intend to love her, she is still my wife.

Whether she is happy or not, I don't want her to be noticed by other men.

She's mine.

……

By the time I got back to my room, Sibyl was asleep.

Is that how a Princess serves her husband?

I tapped my fingers on the wooden table beside the bed.

Sibyl woke up, rubbed her sleepy eyes, and looked at me with pouted lips.

For the first time, she showed me such a relaxed and girlish look. In my memory, from the first day we met, she was very careful and nervous in front of me.

Of course, no woman has ever been so relaxed in front of me. They are always nervous and excited, lying meekly in bed, waiting for me to choose them.

I didn't interrupt Sibyl at the moment, just simply looked at her.

Ten seconds later, she suddenly realized I was standing in front of her. She sat up and stammered, “I'm sorry. I just fell asleep.”

I glanced at her. “You still don't know the rules of serving your husband. Remember, as a wife, you have to wait for your husband to come home every night and wait for him to change and bathe before you go to bed, understand?”

Sibyl tried to open her eyes wide and nodded.

I could see that she was still fighting sleepiness.

My man whispers to me at the door. “The carriage and luggage are ready.”

In order not to attract more attention, I decided to leave the capital for the south in the middle of the night.

“I see.”

I went to the bed, wrapped Sibyl in a blanket, and carried her out of the room in my arms.

“What... What are you doing?” Her voice sounded shaky.

“We're going to the south tonight.” I went to the carriage and put her in it.

It was a large, luxurious carriage with sofas, carpets, and pastries.

I've never traveled in such a big carriage before. I'm a man, and I like to spend time with my knights. I never let my identity get in the way, and asked myself to live with the knights, to feel their daily routine. So when we were away or at war, I never fussed about what I ate, what I wore, or where I lived.

However, when I take a woman out, I have to think a lot, especially when she is a princess.

Damn, woman means trouble.

“We're off,” I explained briefly to Sibyl.

I saw her eyes go from sleepy to surprise and finally to joy.

“Thank you.” She was happy to lean forward, and open her hands as if to embrace me.

I realized it the moment she moved, but I pretended not to, sat in my seat, and waited for her to come into my arms.

Women are like that. If I treat them well, they will find a way to come into my arms.

But when she was about to meet me, she suddenly stopped and then retracted into the quilt. She realized that she had crossed the line. She whispered, “I'm sorry.”

I feel a little lost and upset. The carriage, though luxurious, was still too small for my tall body. I leaned against the sofa and closed my eyes for a nap.

The carriage was quiet, except for the sound of hooves on the ground. 2

After a while, I heard the woman next to me move, and then I felt a blanket covering me.

As a knight who can draw the Vulcan Bow, I don't feel cold at all on such a night, but I choose to pretend to sleep and accept the kindness of my wife.

The carriage was quiet again, and I heard her regular breathing.

I opened my eyes and she was asleep.

Sibyl’s POV

I had never left the capital, so I was very excited about the trip to the south.

However, the excitement was quickly dissipated by the exhaustion of the journey.

After three days in the carriage, I felt like my bones were falling apart. I pulled up my dress in the carriage and massaged my calves.

Through the window, I saw Nuri on horseback. Oh, I don't want to stay in the carriage all the time. I want to go out for some fresh air, too.

The wise man beside Nuri, Wayde, rode his horse near the carriage window. He saw my sad face and asked respectfully, “Your grace, would you like to come out and ride?”

Oh, Wayde is so understanding. But I can't ride a horse, and as a married woman, I can only share a horse with my husband.

“Thank you. I'll just wait until the next break to get some exercise.”

When it was time to rest, I couldn't wait to get out of the carriage and breathe the grass-scented air.

In the distance, a man was galloping towards us on a horse. His blue cloak, blown up by the wind, made him look like an exalted aristocrat.

“Hello, Manolo.”

“Good afternoon, Your grace.”

Manolo seems to have come a long way to catch up with us.

Nuri gave him a cold look and then gave the order. “Let's go.”

I trotted to the carriage, but Nuri picked me up on his horse as I approached the carriage.

I let out a low cry. His horse was bigger than the other knights, and I had to hold on to the reins to keep from falling.

“Let go, I need to hold the reins,” Nuri's deep, powerful voice said above me.

“I... I can't ride. I'm afraid.”

Nuri held me tight in his arms, wrapped his thick arms around my body, and took hold of the reins.

“I won't let you fall.”

I believed him, but I soon discovered a new problem: I couldn't relax in his arms.

His temperature, smell, and breathing enveloped me, and I felt my heart beat faster.

“Relax. Feel the ride.”

Nuri gave a loud whistle, and his horse, howling, ran like an arrow.

“Ah!” I shrank back into Nuri's arms, clutching his arms with both hands.

He was in a better mood, and he was running faster and faster.

I was so frightened that I couldn't finish my words. “Please... Don't... ”

In my nervousness, I looked up and saw his mouth.

Is he smiling?
