Chapter 25 – Robin did not know
4Anger swelled inside Sabrina's chest at the sound of Robin's voice and her expression turned cold. Before she could respond, Devin took charge.4
"It's none of your business dude, have fun with your whores."
Robin was taken aback but his gaze remained on Sabrina. The last time he saw her, she seemed unperturbed about the divorce but even under the disco lights, he could see her grim expression.
Her outfit did not look as if this was her destination but she was here and Robin seemed displeased about it.
"Sabrina, I don't mind that you want to move on but choose someone better than me," Robin drank from a bottle of vodka in his hand and spoke.
Sabrina gritted her teeth at Robin's guts. After giving Zayla the chance to ridicule her on tv, he had the guts to say this to her.
Devin did not allow Robin to have the last laugh and quickly responded, "She is your ex-wife. What does it matter where she goes and who she's with?"
The mention of ex-wife did not sit well with Robin but that was the matter on the ground so he went on to say, "Well, I respected her too much to bring her to a place like this."
Sabrina let out a bitter laugh as a sneer formed in the corner of her lips. She swallowed her pain and voiced out,
"Really Robin, respect? When I look around, sixty percent of the people here are all women. I believe that not every one of them is a whore and besides, there is more respect in being in a place like this with the man I love than having my man bring a pregnant woman home for me to take care of."
Robin frowned instantly and could not speak anymore. Sabrina's words hurt him terribly. Not him, but the fact that he hurt her so much. From the way she reacted to the news before, he had no idea that she was so hurt.
"Robin, you engaged Zayla and did not tell…oh, Sabrina, how are you and your…" Daniel was shouting over the loud music as he walked up to Robin before seeing Sabrina and Devin once again. Martin was already seated and did not get involved in the matter.
Seeing the dullness in Sabrina's eyes, he could tell that she had heard the news as well. However, he still looked around to see if he could catch sight of the woman he saw with Sabrina before but to his disappointment, there was no sign of her. Moreover, he did not have the guts to ask Sabrina about the said woman.
"My boyfriend and I are both fine, thank you, Daniel. Please take care of your friend. I don't want him to cause us any trouble," Sabrina said bitterly.
"You can be sure of that," Daniel said and dragged Robin to their lounge. As soon as they sat, Robin asked,
"What were you saying before?"
Daniel's eyes widened in shock as he asked, "You don't know about Zayla's live interview with the media?"
"Interview?" Robin frowned and asked. For all he knew, Zayla had been at home and had not informed him about going anywhere.
Daniel summarized it for him. "She was flaunting the huge diamond ring you bought her."
Robin felt like he was listening to a fairy tale. The only time he bought a ring was when his father forced him to buy one for Sabrina.
To show that he did not like the arrangement, he bought cheaper ones and after the occasion, none of them wore it. Thinking through it now, regret flashed in his eyes at how badly he treated Sabrina.
"Diamond ring? I've never…"
"Don't be modest with me, Robin. We are best friends and you can tell me anything," Daniel patted him on the back and assured him. Robin shook his head vehemently, as confusion raked through it.
"I'm serious, I have no idea what you are talking about."
The interview was over but it had already gone viral. The video was on Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, and Instagram. Daniel showed Robin on his phone and he still had a stunned look on his face.
The club was also noisy so Robin could not hear what Zayla was saying in the recap. However, her words were displayed below the screen in white so he could read them.
When Daniel saw the way Robin's eyes kept getting darker and darker at the news, he concluded that Robin indeed knew nothing about the interview.
"If it's not true, then call the media and let them take down the news," Daniel suggested. It was easy how Robin understood Sabrina's coldness towards him. Zayla disrespected her and made the public ridicule her. Robin was furious.
"I have to go," he said and stood up. Daniel was confused since they had not touched based on their main reason for meeting at the club.
"Where are you going? We haven't talked yet."
Robin's gaze was cold as he said, "It's time to set some rules."
