Chapter 255 – He was not the Robin she married

Everything was so new to Sabrina; she was unprepared and had no idea about what response to give.1

Worse, she could not think with Robin's pleading gaze on her. 

The friendship she accepted was becoming more than what she expected.

"I will go and change," Sabrina said, went inside, and shut the door. 

In there, so many things were cruising through her mind.

When did Robin become like this? He never even spent the weekend at home before and now, it was as if a different person was put inside the body of the old Robin.

Sabrina was confused and did not know what to do. 

Seeing the red dress on the bed, her attention drifted to it and she picked it up. 

It was not from the JC's clothing line but it was a beautiful red, knee-length dress.

When her fingers rubbed the fabric, the texture was enough to tell her that he spent a fortune on it for her. 

Sitting on the bed, she hugged the dress tightly to her chest and the texture was soothing, she laid her back on the bed in deep thought. 

She must have even dozed off a bit because a knock on the door jolted her awake and she realized that she had not changed as Robin had instructed so she quickly removed the dress she wore and put on the red one when she heard the familiar voice behind the door.

"Dear one, are you there?" She heard Robin's voice and quickly tried to zip the dress but it was to her back, unlike the one she wore before, which had the zip to the side.

"I'm coming," she yelled. 

Unable to change back quickly into the dress she wore before, she went to open the door without zipping the dress but since it was to her back, Robin would not see it anyway. 

"Are you alright?" Robin asked worriedly. 

He went to start cooking but felt she might be hungry and since he already told the maids to go to bed, he decided to squeeze some oranges for her.

Worry nudged him when he realized that she was not at the dining table as he had told her and decided to go and look for her, fearing that something was wrong.

An embarrassing smile stretched Sabrina's lips when she saw the worry lines on his forehead.

"I'm sorry, I dozed off."

Robin understood that in her condition, she needed more relaxation and sighed with relief.

"Do you need more rest?" He asked softly, thinking of whether or not he had to keep the orange juice for later.

"No. Everything is so overwhelming," Sabrina forced a smile and spoke. 

The more kept seeing Robin, the more confused she'd get when he turned away.

It was as if they had exchanged roles with Robin doing Sabrina's chores and Sabrina equally doing his. 

She used to be the one waiting on him at every point in time but the clock seemed to have changed hands.

"Dinner is almost done. I just thought that you would need the orange juice," Robin said, drawing her attention to the drink in the glass in the tray.

"Yeah, thank you," Sabrina said, and taking the drink, she emptied it to half of the glass at a go. Her throat was dry because she slept a little.

"You must be thirsty. Do you want more?" Robin asked with care but she held up the half-emptied glass.

"This would do and…" Sabrina paused, feeling shy to say it but her silence disturbed Robin and he asked,

"What?"

"The zip. Can you help me please?" 

She knew it was either him or nobody else since none of the maids were walking around like she expected, feeling that due to the reduction in their workload, their sleeping time changed too.

However, it was rather their usual sleeping time. She was the one who was awake at an off time.

"Sure."

Robin dropped the tray on the nightstand and helped her with the zip. When he was done, he stood there and admired the dress. 

"It fits perfectly," he said and Sabrina observed that he had equally changed his shirt into a red one.

"But my bump." 

She didn't like the way her bump stood out from the dress but Robin smiled and confessed,

"I want to see more of your bump, dear one. It's the reason why I chose this design."

"Oh." Sabrina went silent as Robin asked again,

"If you are ready? Can we go now?" He was afraid she would fall asleep again and their date would be ruined.

However, Sabrina was still finding it so hard to believe that she could not leave with him immediately and said,

"I will join you."

Robin nodded his head and left, leaving her in shock. After gulping down the rest of the juice, she decided to take the glass to the kitchen and was frozen in shock.

"Robin, you are cooking?"

This surprise outweighed all the other ones from before and she was beginning to think that indeed, this was not Robin.

The guy she married for three years did not know how to even boil water but everything in the kitchen was in order and the aroma was super.

Robin stiffened slightly and turned around, facing her with the apron he wore to not get his clothes soiled.

"It was meant to be a surprise but it's okay. I'm already done," he said shyly due to the shocked expression on her face but since his long sleeve was rolled to the elbow, Sabrina saw it when he went to take the drinking glass from her.

"What happened to your arm," She asked worriedly, Robin felt elated that she cared so much to find out.

"Just a little burn. It's nothing really," Robin smiled and said, rolling down his long sleeve to cover the bandage but Sabrina was still worried and asked him.

"You sustained it whilst cooking?" She held his arm and rolled up the sleeve again. 

She almost removed the bandage when Robin pulled his hand away.

"Yes, but it's almost healed."

"How long have you been cooking?" Sabrina asked curiously, not believing that this was the Robin she was married to for three years.
