Chapter 173 – Sabrina is worth all my patience
Robin's expression was cold while he revealed his plans to his best friend. 2
"I would not let her out of the villa and that reminds me, I want fake diamonds that look exactly like the ones my father left behind."
Daniel frowned a little but felt the discussion becoming more and more interesting. He was beginning to love his best friend more, now that Zayla was exposed.
"What do you want to use them for?"
"To close the chapter of the diamonds. If no one knows about the originals, it would be safer until Sabrina decides what she wants to do with them."
Robin had thought about the diamonds and felt that for as long as Kennedy and Zayla knew it existed, they might still try or get other people involved in getting it. He had to make it seem like the diamonds did not exist.
"You won't touch them?" Daniel asked, surprised that Robin would not sell it and invest the money but Robin shook his head. He was already doing well without it, feeling that it was safer where it was.
"Not in this life. They are hers."
Mentioning hers, Daniel knew that Robin meant Sabrina and was somehow happy, asking,
"Have you made progress with her?"
Robin shook his head. "No, but I won't give up. Sabrina is worth all my patience."
Daniel smiled. He was happy anytime Robin said good things about Sabrina.
"I wish you all the best, Robin."
"Thanks, because I need it," Robin responded with a bitter smile when Daniel asked again,
"Are you now accepting that you are in love with Sabrina?"
Robin ran his fingers through his hair in frustration. For someone like him who was always in control, he never thought that a woman could mess him up the way Zayla did.
"What I feel for her now is the same thing I have felt about her for a long time but I kept telling myself that it was not right for me to feel that way about her and was trying to channel it to Zayla. God knows this was the reason why it never worked. Sabrina was the one who had my love from the onset."
The late realization made him sad. Even if the donor had remained a mystery and Zayla had not put it in his head that she was going to donate one of her kidneys, he was sure to not have treated Sabrina the way he did even if the marriage was forced.
"I knew that you were in love with your ex-wife so I believe you," Daniel said comfortingly but Robin's voice was thin whiles he asked,
"Daniel, how do I win her back?"
He felt so lost in the pursuit of his ex-wife. His father made it easy for him when he made it hard on himself by agreeing to that stupid divorce.
Daniel was equally helpless in this situation and could not encourage him enough.
"Don't ask me. I've never been in a relationship but you can start by doing the things she likes."
Talking about the things Sabrina liked, Robin only thought about what she asked that he did not know how to do.
"Will you teach me how to cook?" He asked Daniel seriously, the latter was shocked,
"What?"
"The last time she was admitted to the hospital, she asked me to cook for her," Robin revealed, trying to make him understand where he was coming from but Daniel chuckled and teased him,
"She must have been trying to mock you."
Robin knew it was true but it did not stop him from still learning how to do it as far as it made her happy.
"I know but what if I do it to impress her the next time she asks again?"
"That is not a bad idea but do you have the time?" Daniel asked seriously, knowing how Robin overworked himself sometimes but Robin smiled and said,
"For Sabrina, I will make the time."
"Then it has to be around next weekend," Daniel said since he already had a date with Lizzy this weekend.
"It should also be at your place because I'll be sleeping in my office for a while," Robin revealed Daniel was confused this time, asking,
"What about your other houses and the villa you are building?" He already knew the reason why Robin did not want to be in the same house as Zayla.
"I don't want the press to cover anything to make Zayla suspicious that I found out about her lies."
Daniel was not happy that Zayla was still being treated with so much love, if even it was fake. For as long as Sabrina never got anything like that in her marriage, he did not want Zayla to get it too.
"So, you are still giving her the princess treatment?"
"No way. No chefs, no cleaners, with a hundred-dollar expenditure limit," Robin frowned and explained.
Daniel finally smiled with relief and his respect for his best friend was immediately restored.
"That is a serious punishment for somebody like her."
"This is just small. Please get me the fake diamonds first. I need to clear the knowledge of the real diamonds from her and Kennedy's minds. Then again, I have to forge my father's handwriting," Robin revealed another part of his plans to him.
"You are going to add a fake note to it?" Daniel quickly discerned and asked.
"Yes."
"I can't wait to see how it turns out," Daniel smiled with Satisfaction.
They dozed off for the rest of the journey and when they got back to the car park, Daniel was about to enter his car when Robin said with longing,
"You can sleep here. It's already morning."
Daniel was still sleepy from being awakened abruptly so he agreed,
"Sure."
They both slept in Robin's office after eating some snacks but by the time Daniel woke up, Robin was gone but left his phone behind. It was ringing and when Daniel saw the caller, it was Zayla.
He ignored it but when he was done freshening up and ready to leave, he walked out of the door and saw Zayla sitting at the reception like a mouse.
"I want to see Robin."
