Chapter 27 - Dugu Yan

When the battle begin, they each find their own respective opponent but this was also part of Tang San's plan.

The Emperor team unlike the original were seriously fighting the Skrek Team because of the constant reprimanding of Dugu Yan and Teacher Qin.

But the Shrek Team was also different unlike the original because of John's interference. They were all eager to train hard and become strong to beat him and also Xiao Wu was not on the team. But John knew that they will fall behind in the future.

While they were fighting, bunch of notifications has been ringing on John head.

John then came in front of Dugu Yan.

Dugu Yan was looking at John in his mask. She feels that somehow this person in front of her was very familiar but she can't tell where she saw him.

John on the other hand was observing Dugu Yan. He then thought 'Dugu Yan really changed, Dugu Bo must have properly thought her after they met.'

John then smiled and said "How's your grandfather?"

Dugu Yan frowned after hearing John's words. She then replied "How do you know my grandpa?"

"Hmm, well, we met accidently in the past." John replied while smiling.

Dugu Yan was now thinking, why was this person talking about her grandpa casually.

"Your grandfather might not told you about me. So let me show you" John said and then use...

"Jade Phosphor Serpent Body Enhancement" John then have a constitution of a snake. His two feet then became one and become a tail and he was covered with a jade-like armor all over his body.

Dugu Yan was shocked after seeing John's transformation. She saw how John become just like her grandpa. She then now remembered who the person in front of her. It was actually the person who her grandfather was talking about.

Dugu Yan then kneeled down and then said "Dugu Yan meets the Young Master."

Everyone were shocked by Dugu Yan's action. Teacher Qin and the other Emperor team members all looked at Dugu Yan. They can't comprehend what was going on. And because of their shocked, Tang San and the others find the opportunity to finished them.

The Emperor team can't go back and focused in the battle which causes them to lose.

John was also surprised by Dugu Yan's actions. He never thought that he would do that. He smiled wryly and then said "Follow me."

Dugu Yan then stood up and followed John leaving the shocked Seven Shrek Team and the Emperor Team shocked.

The announcer then woke up and announced the result.

"S-Shrek Seven Devils won the fight!!!!"

The audience then cheers and shout by how the battle ended. They never thought that such turned of event would happen. They laughed and shouted Shrek Seven Devils.

Yu Xiaogang and the others were also surprised when hear that they won in such a way. They then awkwardly smiled while looking at the Arena.

Somewhere in some restaurant outside the Spirit Great Arena,

John looked at Dugu Yan and then asked "How is your grandfather?"

Dugu Yan did not reply and just looked at John's face. She never thought that he was more handsome that the portrait her grandpa drew.

"Dugu Yan" John called her again while smiling.

Dugu Yan then woke up and blushed. She then answered "My grandpa was doing good and he was always looking everyday hoping to find the Young Master."

"Hahaha, you don't have to call young master. Just call me John." John said while smiling.

Dugu Yan then looked at John while blushing.

They then continue to have some conversation.

After a while, a woman then came over. It was actually Zhu Zhuqing who John told earlier to follow them.

Zhu Zhuqing sat beside John and looked at Dugu Yan.

Dugu Yan also looked back at Zhu Zhuqing and thinking what was this woman here for.

John who noticed the staring contest of the two laughed inwardly. He then said "YanYan, this is Zhu Zhuqing, one of my lovers."

Zhu Zhuqing who heard John called her his lover, became red. She then looked at John. John then pinched her nose and smiled.

Dugu Yan on the other hand, felt something was wrong with her. She really felt jealousy towards Zhu Zhuqing. Despite seeing John just now, she actually admired John in her heart by the constant stories of her grandpa.

John then thought what Dugu Bo taught and told Dugu Yan after he noticed that there were some hint of jealousy in her eyes.

John then told the whole story about when did he and Dugu Yan's father met. After telling for a while they then have an astonished look in their expressions.

"I think we were out for some time now. Let's head back and continue later." John then said before standing up.

"Mmm" Zhu Zhuqing and Dugu Yan replied. The two were not that close but they were getting to familiar with each other.

When they arrived in the place where Yu Xiaogang and the others stay, they saw something unexpected.

The emperor team were actually also there.

The people inside then noticed John and the others.

Tang San's group were just okay after seeing them but the emperor team were slightly mad after seeing Dugu Yan with John especially Yu Tianheng who might had a crush on Duyu Yan.

John, Zhu Zhuqing, and Dugu Yan then find a seat.

"Dugu Yan, did you know him?" Teacher Qin curiously asked.

Teacher Qin's question piqued the interest of the other.

"How?" Teacher Qin asked again.

Dugu Yan did not answer and looked at John. John then shooked his head.

Dugu Yan then looked at Teacher Qin and answered "I'm sorry Teacher Qin but I cannot answer your question."

Teacher Qin and the others knew why she can't answer. They then all looked at John thinking that it must be John's secret.

They then talked about different things. Teacher Qin also came up with the idea to let Shrek students to come to their academy. Flender then immediately declined and argued angrily. Yu Xiaogang then pursuaded him and state that they need to enroll in an academy which could make them a high grade spirit master and compete in the Annual Continental Spirit Tournament.

After hearing Yu Xiaogang's reasoning, Flender then sadly accept. He then walked out of the room to calm down in which Tang San and the other followed to comfort him.

After they left, Teacher Qin then bid his farewell and hope to see them in the Heaven Dou Imperial Academy.

Dugu Yan was reluctant to leave but John told her that they will meet sometime in the future.

After which, only Yu Xiaogang, John and Zhu Zhuqing were left in the room.

John then looked at Yu Xiaogang, and said "Grandmaster, we decided to leave the academy and journey on our own from now on."0

Yu Xiaogang was surprised when he heard John.

"The academy can't make me strong. Only by living by ourselves can makes us grow." John followed.

"Y-You can head with us to the Heaven Dou Imperial Academy which you can enjoy better resources and facilities." Yu Xiaogang knew the importance of John in the team but he also knew that they were only holding him back. He already moved on when John rejected his discipleship but hearing him say that he will leave was a different matter.

"It was all same if I go there." John replied.

John then stood up and held Zhu Zhuqing hand. Zhu Zhuqing already knew that John were going to leave after the fight and she was ready to follow him.

"This will not be our last meeting, Grandmaster. Hoping to see you again." John and Zhu Zhuqing then started walking.

Yu Xiaogang just stand there alone looking at exit. His mind can't processed all that happened within this day. He then sat down and think of John.

After a while, Flender and the other came back.

"Where are they?" Flender asked in a good mood because of what the student said to him earlier.

"They already left and hope to see us in their academy soon." Yu Xiaogang solemnly replied.

Dai Mubai looked around and asked "Where's John and Zhu Zhuqing?"

Yu Xiaogang's eyes then widened and then looked at the exit.

Tang San and the other felt something was wrong by Grandmaster's look.

"They left" Yu Xiaogang sadly said.

"Well, let us wait for them in Tang San's room tomorrow and then plan when to go to Tian Dou Royal Academy." Flender said while thinking left and took a rest.

Yu Xiaogang did not reply and lowered his head.

Tang San and the others feel that something was really wrong with grandmaster.

"Is there a problem, teacher?" Tang San suddenly asked.

"John and Zhu Zhuqing won't be back anymore. They bid their farewell and said that they will head their own way from now on." Yu Xiaogang said while looking down.

"W-What!!?" Flender asked suddenly.

Yu Xiaogang then repeated what John said earlier.

After hearing Yu Xiaogang, Flender and the others had different kinds of expression.

Flender was sad after knowing that they really left. Oscar and Ma Hongjun were shocked. Ning Rongrong on the other hand was also sad but surprised when she knew that Zhu Zhuqing really followed John. Dai Mubai, Tang San, and Zhao Wuji on the other were frowning. Dai Mubai did not mind John leaving but he was angry because Zhu Zhuqing really followed him. Tang San on the other hand just frowned. Zhao Wuji was also frowning because until now, he didn't even knew how John could use their spirit abilities.

"After all this months, we did not even knew his secret towards using different spirit abilities." Flender sighed.

"Let's not talk about them anymore and finally take a rest. Let's have a meeting again together in Tang San's room tomorrow morning. Dismissed." Yu Xiaogang said after seeing the mood in the room.

Tang San and the others then withdraw and head back to their Inn.

Yu Xiaogang, Flender, and Zhao Wuji were now left behind.

"Xiaogang, didn't you want John to be your disciple?" Flender suddenly asked. Zhao just listen as is this the first time he knew about this.

"Yes, I asked him last month but he directly rejected me saying that he can't find his future in me." Yu Xiaogang sadly said while clenching his fingers.

Flender and Zhao Wuji were shocked after hearing what happened. They then became silent and then stood up.

"Let's go back" Flender said before walking towards the exit. Zhao Wuji then followed.

Yu Xiaogang stayed for a while before following them.

John's room,

Zhu Zhuqing and Sia were now leaning against John's chest.

"Master, are we going to leave this place tomorrow?" Sia asked John.

"Yes, we will be always together from now on." John answered while caressing her head.

Sia smile after hearing John's words.

"Where are we going to go, John?" Zhu Zhuqing asked while looking at John.

"Well, a place far from here." John vaguely answered.

"Let's rest as we still had a long journey ahead." John said before kissing their foreheads and then finally closed his eye.

---Early the next morning---

John, Zhuqing, and Sia were now outside the Suotuo City. They were now on their way towards their destination when suddenly a carriage stopped in front of them.

John looked at the carriage and thought that there wasn't any ill intention coming from it. He just waited until an old man suddenly came out. He had a head of silver hair neatly combed behind his back, with a simple and unadorned appearance, both eyes not fully opened but slightly shuts. His gestures in between gives off a very special feeling. His aura could be described as a sharp edge.

The old man looked at John and the two young women beside him. He then focused again on John. He really can't feel any special about this young man despite Ning Fengzhi constantly told him that he was special and dangerous.

John on the other hand was surprised by the sudden appearance of the old as he actually knew him.

"Junior, meets the Sword Douluo" John greeted knowing that it was actually Chen Xin or was known as Uncle John of the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Clan.

Chen Xin was surprised when he knew that the young man in front know him despite seeing him for the first time. He then become wary and believed what Ning Fengzhi said.

"Boy, can we have some of your time." Chen Xin said.

John was surprised because it wasn't in the original story. He then thought that it might because of the man he let go in the past. John then smiled and said "Sure, I also wanted to take a look at your place."

Chen Xin then let them ride the carriage and head towards the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile School.
