Chapter 77 - Fenrir

---Three days later---

In an abandoned area in wasteland,

Three days had passed since John and the others continue their journey. During this three days, Iroha already adjusted and was already open with them especially Shio as she was still a little bit shy towards John after knowing that he already took a good look at every inch of her body. 

"Iroha, Shio, we will probably arrive there later at night." John said while looking towards a sort of wall in the distance. 

Iroha and Shio also looked at it but they had different expressions, Shio being excited while Iroha was worried for some reason. 

They then rested for a while before continuing again and decided not to stop until they arrive after seeing no Aragamis were following them.

---Night---

In some monitoring hall,

"You're late." An attractive woman with mid-back length black hair that has bangs that covering the right side of her face with light green eyes said towards the person who just arrived.

"I'm sorry, Defense Unit! Defense Unit!" A young girl with reddish-brown hair and dark brown eyes answered.

"Aragami infiltration confirmed in the outside settlement! Proceed immediately to Point B in Area A! I repeat! 2x." The girl said while looking towards her monitor. 

"How long 'til they get here?" The attractive woman asked while also looking at big monitor seeing that the situation became worse.

"They should arrive here in a few seconds." Hibari answered immediately.

In the midst of their conversation, another person entered the room while being shocked after seeing what was happening through the monitor. 

Suddenly, the young girl reported again that another area of the base was under attack which the attractive woman forget about the person who just came in and immediately ordered her to put what was happening to the bigger monitor.

After seeing the situation, the attractive woman then ordered again but moments later, the person who came in argued with her before he run out of the room.

Somewhere in wasteland,

John, Shio, and Iroha was still riding the motorbike before they could finally see that they were coming closer and closer to it. 

"John, I can hear sounds of fighting coming from there." Shio said while pointing her finger towards the place John was talking about.

John already noticed it before but he just smiled as he realized that they really come in a bad yet a good timing. He then accelerated as he wanted to avoid some unnecessary death.

Inside the wall, 

A teenage boy with dark blue hair, spiky hair, solid back eyebrows, and light green eyes were swinging some kind of wood towards the Aragamis that surrounds him while protecting someone who was injured on his back. 

The teenage boy tried to fought back but no matter what he did, he still got close of being killed until someone come to save him which right after that, a helicopter then appeared in the place which a two persons jumped down while killing some Aragamis on the process.

Outside the wall,

John, Shion, and Iroha were already in front of a tall wall while hearing the sounds of guns and roars inside. John then recalled the motorbike to his inventory and told the others to hold on tight as they need to enter inside.

Shio already jumped and sit on John's shoulder, while John then looked at Iroha and was to carry her when suddenly he saw her strangely looking at him.

"I can't." Iroha suddenly said as she remembered how the people in the past did not let her family enter the place as no one was tested positive in them. 

John knew what was bugging her mind but he still carried her like a princess before looking at above. 

"Time has change. You can rely on me this time." John said before leaping through the wall. Shio just laughed at how fast John climbed the wall while Iroha hold him tight while blushing and smiling after hearing what he said.

At the top of the wall,

It only took seconds before John, Shio, and Iroha arrived at the top of the wall and saw the chaos that was happening inside. Fires were all over the place, houses was destroyed, Aragamis were running around hunting humans, while some people also fought back with unique weapons that they had. 

Shio on his shoulder jumped down on the ground while looking at the place while Iroha was also doing the same. 

"Shio, from now on, refrain from using your weapon unless I told you so." John said as he doesn't want someone to know about Shio. 

Shio looked at John with confusion but she still nodded before looking below again as this was the first time she saw that many people.

John then looked towards a certain location and saw several people fighting an Aragami that look like tiger. He just looked at them for a while before he summoned Infinity on his hands and transformed it into a spear. 

'This is my first time seeing a Large Type Aragami, let's see whether I could take it down with my level.' John said before he gripped Spear Infinity and threw it with full force towards the Aragami. 

....boom....

John's attack cause an explosion, not because of the dead Vajra who could not be describe anymore but because Spear Infinity destroyed the ground. 

The people below who were fighting the Vajra all looked towards where the Spear came from but could only saw some silhouettes standing at the top of the wall as it was very far.

[Large Type: Vajra has been killed.]

[50 God Particles has been earned.]

[5,000 God Coins earned.]

[Large Core has been collected.]

John then smiled at them fully knowing that they could not see him properly before murmuring "I'm finally here."

John then recalled Infinity into his hands and thought that Vajra kind of Large Type were now nothing to him.

In some office inside the base, 

John, Shio, and Iroha were now inside some room together with three other persons in front of them. 

On the right side, a man was wearing a Japanese colorful yukata with black waiscoat, white gloves, and sandals was looking at him. He had a youthful appearance with short dark gray hair while his eyes were always close.

On the left side, an attractive woman with mid-back length black hair was quietly looking at them. 

In the middle, on the other hand, was a handsome man with a blonde hair and silver eyes observing John, Shio, and Iroha especially John after seeing the video of him killing a Vajra in such long distance with such a strange weapon.

After a moment of silence, the blonde hair man introduce himself first.

"I'm Johannes von Schiksal, the director of Fenrir Far East Branch. Nice meeting you." Johannes greeted as he could tell that John were really extraordinary after seeing how calm he was even in this situation. 

The other two also introduced their selves. The woman's name was Tsubaki Amamiya while the other man was Paylor Sasaki. They then just let Johannes do the talking as they were just here to observe John. 

"I'm John Hendrix, and this is Shio and Iroha, my companions. Nice meeting you also." John replied and introduced their selves while looking towards Johannes. 0

"First of all, I would like to thank you for subjugating the Vajra. May I know which branch did you three came from?" Johannes initiates the conversation and wanted to know more about John. 

"Well, even if we don't kill it, I know that someone will, and for your question, I'd like to keep it a secret for now." John answered while making their selves mysterious to them.

Johannes, Sasaki, and Amamiya flinched after hearing what he just said and could only thought that they may came from above.

"It can't be help then. If its alright to ask, can we perhaps take a look at your weapon?" Johannes directly asked as he was more curious about his weapon that his history. 

"Hmmmm, sadly but you can't." John refused. Its not that he don't want to share it to others but Infinity itself was a cursed weapon for others to wield.

"May I know why?" Johannes frowned after hearing John's reply before asking again as this wasn't just for personal thing but for the humanity as a whole.

"It doesn't matter if you know it or not as all I can say is that something bad will happen if others wield it." John said before patting Shio on his side seeing that she became bored. 

Johannes and the others could only looked at him and did not pushed it any further.

"Well, do you have a place to stay?" Johannes asked as he wanted the three of them to stay here and it was also good idea to observe them.

"No, and I would also like to stay here." John cassually replied as he knew that they wouldn't let him go after seeing what he did to a Vajra.

"Major Amamiya, please give these three a room in the headquarters." Johannes ordered Amamiya while smiling after hearing that John would stay here which is more convenient.

"Shio, Iroha, and John. Welcome again to Fenrir Far East Branch, the humankind's last fortress of defense." Johannes said before he stood up and offered his hand for a handshake.

John then also replied back before he, Shio, and Iroha leave the room together with Amamiya.

Inside a room,

John and Shio were already in the room together given to them. Amamiya wanted to give them each room but Shio told her that she will stay with John which Amamiya could only accept it while Iroha's room was just beside them. 

"John, I think that Johannes guy was planning something." Shio suddenly said as she observed Johannes earlier and noticed some very small details on his face. 

"Well, just let them be." John replied as he also knew because that's his nature as an antagonist.

The two then just relaxed for a while before deciding to head to Iroha's room to see her situation.

Back in the office,

"What do you think about him?" Johannes suddenly asked the two while thinking about John.

"I don't know what to say but I could tell that something was different about them especially that man John. I also could not conclude that they might been ordered by the higher ups as he keep it a secret to us" Sasaki replied based on what he observed about John earlier.

Amamiya on the other hand just sit there listening to them without giving any thought of tha matter.

"Hmmm, then what about the thing that he said about his weapon." Johannes followed again but this time was about John's weapon. 

"From what I saw from the video, I could only tell that it was really ordinary yet extraordinary at the same time as I could tell that it wasn't even a God Arc." Sasaki replied after seeing the appearance of the weapon John used in the video.

"A weapon that was not a God Arc but could kill an Aragami, how interesting. I also don't believe that the higher ups developed such weapon without telling us at all so I could partially conclude that he was lying." Johannes said while having a feeling that he just wanted to make them confused for a reason. 

"Johannes, I think we should respect his privacy and I think it was not a good idea to pry into him as I could feel that something bad would happen if we did." Sasaki replied while thinking that despite John being amiable earlier, he could feel a sense of danger while being with him together.

Johannes and Amamiya just looked at him and thought of what he just said. Johannes thought about it hard while weighing the consequence if John is a dangerous person against the result he would get after researching his weapon. 

"Though I was also curious about his weapon but I think it would be appropriate to wait for him to tell us as we all had the time as he chose to stay here in the headquarters." Sasaki followed as no matter how he denied it, he was really curious about John's weapon as also wanted to reasearch it as the head of Oracle technology development.

Their meeting lasted for a while before it ended. Sasaki already left while Amamiya were ordered to stay as Johannes wanted to say something.

"Amamiya, you should know how important this is. Try talking and know more about him." Johannes said while standing and looking towards the picture on the wall. 

"Yes, sir." Amamiya answered.

"Since he chose to stay here, I think it would be better to place him temporarily in the 1st unit and let your brother also do the work." Johannes said before he dismissed Amamiya and sit alone in the room while thinking something.
