Chapter 87 - Sniper

---The next morning---

On the bed,

John woke up first and saw Iroha and Shio still sleeping. He looked at their peaceful faces which made him smile and caressed their heads before getting out of the bed to see the situation outside.

John then got out of the building to to check the surroundings but right after he got some distance with the building they were staying, a sudden ball of lighting come right towards him which he immediately summon Infinity and transformed it into a shield.

John blocked the attack and looked where it came from which he saw an Aragami with a black body and has a human face with a cruel expression staring at him from the distance.

'Dyaus Pita. How come this Aragami was here. I thought this Aragami would only appear later on.' John thought while frowning as he knew about it as it was more like the monster boss in the story.

John then looked back to see the building they were staying first and thought that they were far enough for Iroha and Shio to notice.

"Let's see whether I could deal with it." John said before rushing forward towards the Dyaus Pita wanting to test his power that he currently have.

Seeing John running, Dyaus Pita also rushed forward planning to devour him but it suddenly came to a stop while trying to resist a sudden attractive force.

"Bansho Ten'in." John used a skill hoping that he could pull the Dyaus Pita towards him but he found it impossible after seeing it resisting.

"Tch." John said before transforming Infinity into a machine gun and start firing while still continue running forward.

Dyaus Pita smiled seeing this and just let John attacked him as it didn't even leave any scratch on its skin.

'Thick skin, huh.' John said seeing that his attacks were futile. He then decided to concentrate power on his right hand while moving to get close enough to unleash it.

John continue running even faster while also evading its attack as it continuously firing some lighting ball and moving every time he got close but it didn't take long before he saw an opportunity after seeing several ruined building and cars behind the Dyaus Pita which he then stretched his hand towards it.

"Bansho Ten'in." John used the same skill again but this time his target wasn't the Dyaus Pita but the things on its back.

The target objects immediately were being pulled out and rushed towards John but it couldn't get through as it crashed with the Dyaus Pita.

"100 Ren Kugi Punch." John gone all out to see whether it would survive after such attack but a sudden change happened.

After seeing that it felt threatened, Dyaus Pita suddenly revealed its wing-like limbs while unleashing a devastating amount of energy at the same time.

John could only stop his attack as he transformed Infinity again into a Shield to block the incoming energy which he was caught off guard as he flew back and crashed towards a building.

....Boom....

John after being crashed did not got up for a while and just stared above.

"How could I forgot that." John said as he remembered that Dyaus Pita also used the same thing in the anime.

"Well, that's a bit painful." John said seeing that this is the second time he got surprised by an attack as the first one was when he was still in Douluo Dalu. He then got up and adjusted himself before heading outside.

John looked at the Dyaus Pita after coming out and thought it really was hard to kill it now with the power he had. Though he still did not used some of his skills but he could still tell that it wasn't enough especially after seeing it right now full of rage and power.

"Hey you, how about a truce and fight again next time!" John shouted as he knew that it has some kind of intellect unlike the others.

Dyaus Pita looked at him before suddenly turning its gaze to the other side after hearing something.

John also did the same which widened his eyes after seeing Iroha and Shio from the distance.

Dyaus Pita smiled widely as it looked at John before leaving the place and rushed towards Iroha and Shio.

"Not good." John looked in horror before following it from behind at full speed.

Shio and Iroha in the distance suddenly got nervous after seeing this situation while they already grabbed their weapon ready to face the Aragami but no matter how prepared they were, Iroha was already shaking from fear after seeing how big and scary it was while Shio were just standing on her ground without any expressions but her legs were doing the same.

Seeing them cower in fear, Dyaus Pita then spread its wings ready to attack when suddenly...

"Release Recollection" John used the most powerful skill of the Blue Rose Sword after seeing that he could not keep up with the Dyaus Pita.

After using the skill it instantaneously freezes and covered the whole place which even the buildings, cars, and etc. around got froze while several thorny ice tendrils were rushing forward the Dyaus Pita which it started biding and freezing its body.

"Shio move and take Iroha away from here!" John shouted before he rushed forward and try to attack again after seeing it could not move and was struggling.

"100 Ren Kugi Pu---" But before John could finish again, Dyaus Pita roared loudly again before the same thing happened again to defend itself.

However, John didn't flinch this time as he already expecting it and used its power instead to propel himself towards Iroha and Shio.

Moments later, Dyaus Pita was released from the binding while furiously looking at John before it roared loudly and took its leave.

Seeing the Dyaus Pita left, John sighed and breath hard before turning to looked at Iroha at Shio.

"J-John, w-what was that Aragami?" Iroha shakingly asked after remembering its power earlier.

"Hmm, that's Dyaus Pita." John said before hugging her to calm her down which Iroha hugged him back tightly.

"John, why can you use the same ability with Iroha?" Shio curiously asked as she saw how John used the same ability that Iroha's sword had.

"That's a secret. Hahaha" John laughed after he saw her becoming curious again towards Infinity and even forgot about the Dyaus Pita already.

"I think we better find another place to stay." John said before looking that the whole place got frozen which even the building that they were staying.

Iroha and Shio also did the same and couldn't help but to agree to his decision.

"J-John, will I also be able to do this thing?" Iroha shakingly again again after seeing that John froze the whole place unlike her who could only cover a small area.

"Well, if you train harder you can do it someday." John said before they decided to head back to the building they were staying to get the things that could still be use before leaving the place to find another location.

---Three weeks later---

It has been three weeks since John and the others found another place to stay in and also its already been three weeks since John fought against the Dyaus Pita but even after that time they didn't encountered it again.

"Iroha, finish it." John said while looking at Iroha fighting against five crocodile-like Aragami.

Upon hearing, Iroha then rushed against the nearest Aragami before killing it in one slash before sunking her sword on the ground to finished the others.

"Enhance Aramament: Bloom! Blue Rose."

The ground then froze and it cover for an area of ten meters while freezing the Aragamis within the area at the same time. Though they could still struggle but due to the thorny ice tendrils that binded them together with the rose that was leeching their life it could only struggled for a while before dying.

Seeing it, Iroha then stood up slightly exhausted before heading towards John and Shio.

"Mmm. I think its now time to get back." John said after seeing the improvements of Iroha during the past weeks as he continued to guide her and constantly giving her Elixers from the store for her to take every night to become more stronger.

"Are we returning back?" Shio excitedly asked as she was also missing Sakuya and the others back at the headquarters.

"Yeah, we could now head back maybe tomorrow." John replied seeing the expression of Shio who couldn't wait to head back.

They then stayed there for a while before heading back to the place they stayed in for three weeks and enjoyed the rest of the day doing some stuffs.

Somewhere on the wasteland, 0

Several people were being surrounded by many Vajras while the others were already injured badly which some of them already lost hope as they were kneeling on the ground while shakingly holding their God Arcs.

"Did they receive our message!?" One of the God Eater shouted and could be said to be leader of the group.

"I don't know as we just lost signal to the headquarters." One of the God Eaters replied while his tears were already falling down as he knew that they couldn't survive this time.

'How did we even come to this situation.' The leader thought as they were just peacefully hunting some small-type Aragamis helping the new recruits when suddenly these Vajras appeared out of nowhere which took the lives of their companions.

"Everyone, use every ounce of your strength and hope that we could leave here alive!." The leader said which another fight broke out which their lives were at stake.

Far East Branch Headquarters,

Tsubaki could be seen looking while frowning at the monitor.

"We lost signal to them." Hibari reported as she couldn't hear them anymore through her communication device.

"Call Captain Amamiya and the rest of the members of the 1st unit." Tsubaki said as the situation become serious seeing the dots on the screen were continue decreasing.

"M-Major Amamiya, they were all in a mission." Hibari replied after seeing that there's no available God Eaters in the headquarters right now.

Hearing this, Tsubaki could only clenched her fist while looking at monitor.

---The next day---

John, Shio, and Iroha already fixed their selves and were ready to move anytime.

"Let's go then." John said before seeing them already couldn't wait to head back which they already took their position in John's motorbike before leaving.

On the vehicle,

Sakuya could be found driving while Kota, Lenka, and Alisa were seriously sitting on the back.

"Can you still not contact them?" Sakuya suddenly asked while looking at Lenka who had a device with him as they were ordered for a rescue mission this time.

"I still can't." Lenka replied and could only looked at the tablet he had while looking at the dots on the screen as this was the only the thing that tells them that they were still alive.

They could only come for them right now as they were still on a mission yesterday and was even ordered to abandon for a rescue mission but they still took time in coming back.

Hearing this, Sakuya then drive faster hoping that they could arrive on time as it was just the four of them this time as the Lindow and the others were all in a special mission.

Somewhere on the wasteland,

John and others already drove for several hours and only stop to rest for a while and to eat.

"We better find a place to stay for a while." John said before acceleratiing after seeing that the sky were turning dark and thought that it will rain anytime soon.

Inside the building,

John and the others found themselves in some abandoned city and was now resting to pass time.

John could be seen looking outside as he could hear something from the distance but he couldn't tell what it is because of the rain.

Iroha and Shio, on the other hand, were looking at the tablet that John gave them as it was a different kind of tablet that the headquarters had. They could be seen staring at the screen as they were actually watching a movie which John spend some God Coins to buy it and even downloaded some movies to it and this became possible because of the system.

Somewhere in the abandoned city,

Two person could be seen running while one of them was helping the other as it had several wounds on his body.

While the two were running, several Aragamis were also following them from behind waiting for them to get tired and exhausted.

Moments later, the injured person couldn't hold on anymore as he fell on the ground while breathing hard.

"Tatsumi, stand up. Reinforcements might be coming here soon, we just need to hold on." The other person said while helping the person who fell down to stand up.

"Kanon, don't mind me and continue running to save your life." Tatsumi tiredly replied while looking at the person wearing a dark green Fenrir formal uniform, black knit cap, black mini shorts, black thigh highs and green laced boots.

Kanon heard what he said but she didn't buy it as she held his arms helping him out but the Aragamis were already behind and were ready to devour both of them which Tatsumi pushed Kanon.

Kanon was pushed and fell on the ground which after she looked back, she saw Tatsumi looking at her while being killed by the Aragamis.

"K-Kanon, go." Tatsumi said for the last time before dying.

Seeing Tatsumi being eaten by the Aragami, Kanon then immediately stood up to continue running but she couldn't properly see as her eyes were filled with tears added to the heavy rain which it didn't take long before she fell again on the ground.

She turned around and saw several Aragamis already coming at her and coyld only accept her end. She closed her eyes ready to be devourved when suddenly

....bang.bang.bang....

Several gunshot could be heard which killed off the Aragamis that surrounds her.

John could be seen lying on the ground with Infinity in its sniper form firing towards the Aragamis in the distance.
