Chapter 90 - Unit Captain

---Early the next morning---

John woke up after feeling heavy on his chest. He looked down and saw Shio sleeping on his body while Iroha and Sakuya were leaning on his arms. He then just smiled as he let them be and wait for them to wake up.

Moments later, Sakuya suddenly woke up and saw John staring at her before getting shy as she couldn't believe that she actually slept in John's room and remembered what he did last night.

"Good Morning." John greeted seeing a shy Sakuya before moving her closer to him and kissed her lips.

Sakuya closed her eyes as she was surprised by the sudden kiss but she didn't struggle and slowly kissed him back instead.

"Sakuya, mind telling, are you interested in me?" John asked seeing that she didn't even struggled while kissing added to what she did yesterday made him thought like that.

Sakuya heard what John said but she didn't reply immediately as she just keep on looking at him.

"J-John, I don't know but I think I love you." Sakuya shyly confessed on what she's feeling inside her which she just knew about it after seeing him again.

Hearing what she said, John couldn't help but smiled before kissing her lips again.

"It's good then as I love you too." John replied lovingly as he really wanted Sakuya to be his and only his.

The two then started kissing each other which it made the other two to wake up as they felt a sudden movements on the bed and hearing some strange sounds.

John and Sakuya then stopped after seeing this as they looked at them.

"Sakuya will be your sister from now on." John said while smiling as he pinched their cheeks. Sakuya, on the other hand, became shy all of the sudden after hearing it.

Shio and Iroha looked at each other before laughing as they already knew that it would happen.

They then stayed on the bed talking about something which John also told them that Licca will be their sister too which made them surprised.

After a while, John and the others then got up on the bed before fixing their selves and head outside as they still had a gathering to attend later.

---Noon---

Inside a hall,

The atmosphere was very heavy as all the God Eaters were here to mourn for Tatsumi and the others who died during their mission.

John was already there together with Sakuya and the others sitting on a table when suddenly someone came to them.

"Can I sit with you?" Kanon said while looking at them as they were only the people she can call close with as all of her teammates were now gone.

John and the others then nodded feeling sorry about her teammates.

"How are you?" John asked wanted to know her condition right now.

"I'm already fine." Kanon replied as she knew that feeling down wouldn't help her in this forsaken world.

John looked at her and thought how strong she was but they knew that deep sadness still resides inside her heart.

"What will happened to the 2nd unit now?" John asked again after seeing that she was only the person left in the 2nd unit.

"I don't know. I will just wait for orders." Kanon said while also thinking about the future.

Right after the gathering ended, they then each part ways which Sakuya and the others returned back to his room, Kanon also left somewhere at the base while Licca returned back to her workshop. John, on the other hand, were now heading to meet the person he missed to tease from time to time.

Another hall in the headquarters,

John was now could be seen talking to someone inside the hall. John was asking about the things that she did while he's not around and also asked about the major things that happened during that time.

"Hibari, how about eating dinner together later." John said while looking at Hibari who was blushing by his constant teasing and staring.

Hibari thought for a while before thinking that it's a good idea to eat with him later as they didn't have that much work for today.

"See you in the cafeteria later then, Hibari." John followed and didn't wait for her reply as he was already leaving the hall.

"John, wait!" Hibari suddenly shouted.

"Or do you want it now, Hibari?" John said while smiling after hearing her stopping him.

"D-Dumbass. Major Amamiya just called me and told me to find you." Hibari replied after getting ordered by Major Amamiya just now.

"Ohhh, what she said?" John asked again and thought what would it be.

"She ordered to let you go the monitoring hall." Hibari replied what Major Amamiya said.

"Hmm, okay" John said before leaving as he thought that it must be serious.

"Dumbass." Hibari cursed while looking at John's back but she couldn't hide the redness and happiness on her cheeks after seeing him again.

In the monitoring hall,

When John arrived, he found not just Tsubaki but all of the 1st unit members were there. Even Shio and Iroha were with them but the most interesting was Kanon was also in the hall.

"Yoh" Lindow greeted after seeing John again as they didn't meet last night and didn't have some time earlier to talk.

Eric and Soma also greeted but unlike Eric who was very excited Soma just nodded at him.

"John, have a seat as I have something to announce." Tsubaki said as this was the purpose of why she called all of them here.

"Due to the deaths of Tatsumi and the others leaving the 2nd unit with Kanon as its only member, Director Johannes just instructed me to form a 2nd new unit." Tsubaki said and repeated what Johannes has instructed her.

"How does this connected to us in the 1st unit?" Lindow as the captain suddenly asked after knowing that its about the 2nd unit.

"Well, it does connected to the 1st unit as Director Johannes told me if it was okay for John lead the 2nd unit from now on." Tsubaki replied before looking at John looking at his reaction.

Lindow and the others were surprised before looking at John waiting for his reply as they can't decide about this matter as John was only a temporary member of the 1st unit.

"Do you want to lead a unit, John?" Tsubaki asked but her face was telling John to say 'yes' for the reason that they need a new personnel that could lead a team.

John was also surprised upon this situation and couldn't help but sighed as this his fault on the first place. He then looked at Kanon and saw her looking back at him with expectation.

"Well, I can do that." John replied as there's no harm to be with the other unit. The only thing that was unfornate was he could not go with Sakuya in missions.

"That good, then." Tsubaki sighed in relief after hearing that John would take the job.

"But I have a condition." John suddenly said while thinking about his unit.

"What is it?" Tsubaki asked and was surprised to hear that John still had some conditions.

"First, I don't need anyone else aside from Kanon to join the team. Second, the unit that will be formed wont be a defensive unit just like the former as I want a unit which purpose was to hunt Aragamis. Third, aside from Kanon, I also want Shio and Iroha to be included as my unit member." John then told Tsubaki his conditions which surprised them.

Tsubaki looked at John and saw him serious about his conditions.0

"I will relay your conditions back to Director Johannes later then." Tsubaki said as she could not decide such things on herself.

"Do you have any questions?" Tsubaki asked while looking at the rest of the people inside.

"What is it, Alisa." Tsubaki said after seeing Alisa raising her hand.

"Can I join John's unit?" Alisa suddenly asked as she already decided to follow John for some reason and also to become strong as after he left the base, she could not find any other person to fight and grew stronger with.

"Are you serious with that, Alisa?" Tsubaki asked again wanted to confirm if she really wanted to join John's unit.

Alisa then just stayed there quietly before nodding as this was for the betterment of herself and also bacause she saw something in John that she couldn't see to others.

"John, what do you think?" Tsubaki asked John as he just told them his conditions that he wouldn't take any aside from Kanon.

"T-That." John wryly smiled as he didn't expect Alisa to suggest such thing.

"Well, I think I can spare some space for her at my unit but it depends on Lindow if he would allow it." John said. Though he didn't mind having Alisa and was even more happy about it but he still need the approval of the her unit captain.

All of them then looked at Lindow waiting for his reply.

Lindow then lit a cigarette before looking at them thinking that it was manageable for John to left but seeing that Alisa would also like gave him headache but he wasn't selfish enough to make her stay if she doesn't want to.

"Well, if she want to leave then I won't stop her." Lindow said after he thought that John could handle her more than any of them.

"Then, Alisa will be transfered in John's unit if John's conditions are approve. If there's nothing else, then dismissed." Tsubaki said before looking at them for the last time specially to John which John understand it's meaning.

After Tsubaki left, Lindow and the others then congratulate John for becoming a Unit Captain before leaving the room.

John then looked at Kanon and Alisa who stayed in the hall together with Shio and Iroha.

"John, I'll look forward working with you." Kanon said while smiling after knowing that she will be in John's unit from now on.

"Mmm. I will take care of you from now on." John said while smiling at her.

Hearing this, Kanon couldn't help but felt shy as he took his words to another meaning.

Alisa was also there just listening to them talking before she moved after seeing Kanon left the hall.

John looked at Alisa and couldn't help but to think what would happen from now on as she might moved from the 1st unit to his.

"Let's fight." Alisa seriously said while looking at John.

"Fight, huh." John said before looking at Iroha on his side before smiling.

Johannes Office,

Tsubaki was now in Johannes's office as she relay John's condition to him.

"Is that all his conditions?" Johannes asked after hearing what Tsubaki reported while looking something on the monitor.

"Yes, Sir," Tsubaki replied.

"Let him be and then form another defensive unit." Johannes said after hearing that John wanted to form a unit with a purpose hunting Aragami which would greatly help his plan more faster.

"Thank you, Sir." Tsubaki said before leaving the office.

After Tsubaki left, Johannes then focused his attention to the monitor before saying "Interesting."

In the training room,

John and Shio could be seen observing from above looking at Iroha and Alisa fighting Aragamis.

John looked at how the two fought and killed the Aragamis one by one which he could only feel amazed that Alisa really improved after seeing her not taking a hard time fighting several of them unlike the last time.

The fight then didn't take long before the two finished killing them all which Alisa felt surprised seeing how Iroha could fight with the Aragamis with ease unlike her who needs to skillfully utilize her God Arc to deal with them but she didn't even know that Iroha didn't even use her full power right at that moment.

John looked at them before heading down together with Shio.

After coming down, Iroha then immediately head towards John and hugged him.

"Alisa, you've improved so much while I'm away." John said while looking at Alisa who was staring back at him.

"Not much." Alisa replied as she looked at Iroha before leaving the room.

"Hmmm, I think I still need to improve her attitude as it will be my job from now on. Either way, let's head to the cafeteria to eat." John said before also leaving the room together with Shio and Iroha.

---Night---

In the cafeteria,

John and the others were now in the cafeteria eating as it was now time for dinner but this time someone joined their group as Hibari was together with them on the table.

"Hahaha, don't stare at Hibari that much." John laughed as he said after seeing them staring at Hibari.

Upon hearing, Sakuya and the others then retracted their gaze on Hibari as they were all just curious when does Hibari got to know and got close with John and when did it happen.

"By the way, why did you stop me earlier John?" Sakuya suddenly asked about what happened in the afternoon as she also want to move in his unit.

"Hmm, because unit 1 needs you more." John replied. He stopped Sakuya earlier as he thought no one within the unit 1 would take the lead if Lindow was away as he could tell that Lenka was still new and inexperience to such role.

Sakuya then just listened to him before accepting his reasons after also thinking about it.

The group then just continued to enjoy the food and talk from time to time especially about Hibari as they all thought that she must John's new target after seeing her eating with them for the first time.

The rest of the night then passed with John having three women with him on his bed while thinking about the things that would happen in the future.
