152: Suffer

Suffer

  The moment that Keira arrived home, she knew that there might be something that went wrong. So, the first thing that she did was to speak to Connor before leaving the office. Back in her office, she felt Harvey's presence. It was a pair of eyes staring at them. She knew that Harvey might be there and as she reviewed the recording, Harvey indeed threatened Johanna. And after a few moments, the recording was erased. 

"You've been silent after checking out from the office," Alessandro said as he removed his coat and gave it to the maid. He put his phone on the coffee table and slouched. He put his feet over the coffee table to relax. 

"Where's mom?" She asked the Butler. 

"She's with Sir Alex. I think they went to the spa all day and visited a few malls." 

"Oh," she nodded and sat beside her husband. 

"So, what's wrong?" Alessandro started unbuttoning his shirt and leaned his head on the sofa with a yawn. 

"I'll tell you later." 

"Okay. Let's eat first and sleep?" he suggested. 

"I'll tell you during my nighttime facial routine." 

"Uhuh," he nodded at her. "Let's eat then." 

  The two stood in unison as Alessandro threw his right arm around her and pressed his lips to her temple like he usually did during the old times. The maids set up the table quickly. 

"We are not going to wait for Mom and Dad?" Alessandro asked. 

"Nah, they are fine and old," Keira said. "And I am tired… I need sleep." 

"How about nighttime exercise?" he asked with creased brows. She kicked him under the table. 

"I'm tired and you won't get anything until next month." 

  Alessandro didn't nag her about sex since her threat was somehow serious. Although he knows that it's a fake threat, he's still worried that his wife might hate him. After the couple had their dinner, they went to their room to bathe and she was quick as she sat on her dresser to start with her facial night routine. Alessandro approached her naked as she started with her story and on what happened to the office. 

"Your brother~~did what?" he exclaimed while he's in the middle of putting on his boxer shorts. 

"Yeah, he did threaten her using me and mom… and her late parents." 

"Tsk." He shook his head. "Your brother is obsessed with pulling that Empire down." He approached her from behind and while she's busy using her facelift. 

"I understand why he wanted that to happen." She sighed. "I don't know… but I have a feeling that maybe it will be more chaotic." 

"Her head will be in a mess." Alessandro hugged her. 

"Yes, she asked for a month of emergency leave." 

  He hugged and kissed her temple. 

"I'll handle the rest. I can stop my sister from making a very bad decision." She sighed again.

"I will stay behind you." 

"Thank you." She smiled at him and nudged him. "Don't just stay behind." 

"Okay," he chuckled and hugged her tightly.

  She didn't eat well at dinner as she felt like she's going to throw up. So, instead of finishing dinner, she went upstairs to rest. She told him clearly that she wanted to sleep alone tonight. But instead of sleeping, she was staring at the window as the rain kept on failing. She even slipped off from the bed to go to the window seat and watched the rain and lightning outside. 

  It's good meditation. However, thinking that there's a life living inside her was a little bit different. She felt it inside her and the heartbeat. She shouldn't get attached to it. She'll get rid of it eventually.

  She decided to go to her closet as she took the exact back that she came with and took a few of the clothes that she brought to his house. She'll leave early in the morning. This time, she'll sleep it off. She closed her eyes to sleep but she felt his footsteps outside her room. The door opened slowly and he approached her. Her back was on the door and she knew what he would do. 

  He gently pulled the sheet over her shoulder and kissed her forehead. 

"Sleep well, you are loved and I love you so much." 

  She waited for him to leave and her heart responded to her words. Why does she have to remember lots of things whenever she's with him? She lay flat down and looked at the door. Was it the sign that she had to leave him? It felt like her heart was being choked. She quickly slipped off from the bed, turned on the fan, and went to his room. He was already sitting on the bed and he patted it. 

"Do you want milk?" he asked and opened the side table drawer that had a built-in fridge inside. She nodded at him and he quickly went to the microwave. He poured the milk on the mug and he always set it up in his room so he wouldn't go downstairs to get it. 

  She sat on the bed with the sheet over her lap waiting for the milk. He approached her with the warm milk and she sipped on it. She finished it like drinking water and gave it back to him. He caressed her hair and kissed her forehead. 

"Do you want to eat?" 

  She shook her head without speaking. Then, he put the mug on the sink of the bathroom. Then, he came back, crawled over the bed, and kissed her lips while he's pulling the sheet up. He lay down and he patted his chest. She set up a pillow under his underarm as she lay sideways facing him and hugged his waist. It might be the last time that she might feel his body. 

"My kitty." He mumbled and hugged her tightly. "It must be a tough day." 

"It is…" 

"I'm here for you." He kissed her top head as he started humming her favorite song while caressing her hair. She started falling asleep. 

  Connor suddenly woke up in the morning when his phone started ringing. He looked at the clock, five in the morning and it's too early for his darling to get up. He answered Keira's call with a yawn. 

"Hello?" 

"Connor, is Jo still with you?" 

"Ah, she's not in the bed. What's wrong?" 

"Didn't she tell you that she's pregnant?"

  Connor knew the signs and he never thought that the results would come out quickly. Maybe she got pregnant because of broken condoms. He quickly slipped off from bed. 

"I'll check on her and will call you later." 

  He used the door to the walk-in closet and found her already leaving her room. 

"Jo," He called but Johanna ignored him as she walked with her luggage downstairs. He walked fast to catch up on her. "Jo, talk to me!" he exclaimed. She went to the kitchen and took a glass bottle of water. She then took out something from her pocket and put it on the counter table. She then opened the cap and gulped on the water. He reached it and stared at the two pregnancy tests that indicated positive. 

  He watched her walk out with her bag and he quickly reached her arm to stop her. 

"Where are you going?" he asked. 

"I told you, I can't get pregnant." She said coldly. He understood clearly what he meant. 

"We never talk about abortion!" He shouted at her, getting frustrated. His heart was pounding like crazy and he's anxious about her decision to kill their baby. In his life, he never thought of having a baby until he met her. 

"We aren't married." She stared at his eyes without any emotions. "This is my body and I can decide on what I want." 

"Like killing our baby?" He scoffed and shook his head. "You won't leave the house."

  She pulled her arm and pushed him. 

"I don't want to see you anymore, Conrad… or Connor. Or whatever your name was." 

  He quickly hugged her to stop her. 

"No, stay." He mumbled. "Why are you doing this?" He asked and then, as he panicked, he scooped her face and kissed her forehead. "I love you and I'll marry you. I will do everything to make you happy. Just don't do this." 

"I'm sorry." She said without any emotions but Connor reached her bag quickly and threw it away.  2

"If you are stubborn, I am more stubborn." He gritted his teeth. "I can't let you kill our baby." He reached her hands and squeezed them. 

  Suddenly, although she was showing neutral emotions, a tear rolled down her eyes. 

"If I don't do it, I'll lose everyone around me!" She suddenly screamed at him. "So, let me go! You are better off with out me." 

"Don't be stupid! That's my baby too!" He exhaled and calmed himself. He scooped her face frustratingly and wiped her tears. "You won't lose everyone." He whispered, slowly calming himself. "If you do this, you will already lose someone that will give you more love than I do." His voice was calm and soft as he gently kissed her forehead. "Calm down, okay? I love you and I will protect you and everyone you love."

  She shook her head. Her heart was slowly breaking as she shoved her face to his chest and started sobbing. He rubbed her back and there's one thing that he must do. He knew that there's only one person who would do this to her. He carried her quickly back to his room as he dressed up. She's still crying like a child and he took a bottle of water and took it with him while he's carrying her to the garage. 

  He drove by Keira's house where Keira was waiting and Johanna was already calm. Johanna thought that they would have breakfast but after he dropped her off, he drove fast to Harvey's residence. Now that he confirmed that Johanna is pregnant, he won't let someone ruin his family. 

"Connor?" MJ was confused about why he was pressing the doorbell many times. The gate quickly opened. It was still raining, and as soon as he got out, didn't care if he got wet, he rushed to Harvey who was frowning and he punched him quickly. 

"How dare you tell her to kill our baby?!" He screamed and punched Harvey again and again.
