The Crystal of Sky

Johanna looked at the details of the next mission. The Crystal of Sky. That was what Andromeda told her. And just as she expected. Janella also called it the same. The woman researched a lot and had a high temper. She started to hate the woman's gut. But anyway, she had no choice. She would just bad mouth the annoying woman and annoy her.

"You look frustrated," Kennedy said as he sat beside her, with a one-meter gap.

"I am. Your in-laws are annoying." She rolled her eyes.

"Let's go to a cafe? Or perhaps a beach?"

"Really?" She squinted her eyes to make sure that he was not buffing.

"You need some break. We both need some break." He said.

"Great. At least I could see nice scenery before going to hike up the mountain just to get whatever the gem was. I will prepare my bikini."

"No. No bikini." Kennedy said. "Gray, let's go."

"I am so glad that Griffin won't be with us." Gray grinned as he rubbed his hands. "Let's shop for bikinis first." He said.

"No, bikinis." Kennedy glared at him.

"Then, what should I wear?" Johanna asked as she followed the boys.

"Just some sundress," Kennedy told her.

Anyway, she followed them and they got into the car with the kids just as Johanna requested. It was an hour's drive to the beach from the facility. The kids gasped and looked around. They deserve some fun. Somehow, Kennedy is providing for them well. Johanna noticed that Ken isn't like his family at all. He wasn't as selfish or as crazy as Wendy. Maybe his mother raised him to be like that. He has a realization in life although he's not the usual good person type.

"You look pretty," Gray commented.

"Sure. You can wear my other dress if you want."

Gray rolled his eyes and he approached the kids as he taught them how to play volleyball. Kennedy was already on the lounge chair with black sunglasses and a fresh coconut juice. He's busy drinking and relaxing. Yup, they all need these.

Johanna approached her bag to reach for the sunblock. A hand reached it first. When she looked up at the man, grinning at her lasciviously.

"I can help you."

"I don't want a pervert touching me." She grabbed the sunblock back and went to her seat. "Go away, Griffin."

"Well, I am handsome and hot. Why don't you like me?"

Johanna sneered as she looked at him from head to toe. Totally not her type.

"My husband is way too handsome than you. You aren't that attractive at all. Besides, you don't know how to please a woman."

It was annoying. Griffin is giving her a headache. They are supposed to be relaxing.

"Griffin, do not bother Lady Hannah Grace," Kennedy said in a low, dangerous voice. Griffin raised his hands and left.

"Thanks, bro," Johanna said casually and sipped on her coconut juice. Gray came over and extended his hand.

"You want help?"

"Nope. No one is going to touch me unless it's a girl." Then, she waved at Alexa. "Come here, dear."

Alexa ran to her and helped her with the lotion.

Johanna grinned at Gray since she knew what she was thinking. That Alexa is lucky to touch her. Shortly before sunset, they have a little party on the yacht. The kids had fun enough as they could eat anything and play with anything, or watch anything they want. Kennedy on the other hand was in the lounge as he sipped on his beer while watching the sunset. She sat beside him.

"It is a good thing that you give the kids this little freedom."

He didn't smile but he looked melancholy.

"I am responsible for everything now."

"It will be better if they are in the Rossie Empire. A parent would adopt them. Don't you think so?"

  Kennedy chuckled.

"You are right," Kennedy mumbled.

"You are the leader of the Charles Empire. Your hands aren't completely tied up."

Andromeda was currently with Harvey in the control room with Shadow. They are watching Hannah Grace hike up the secluded, dangerous mountain with her team. She looked at Shadow, who is her cousin Andel who was busy eating popcorn like he was watching a movie.

"So, how are we going to get that Crystal?" Harvey asked her and looked at the handsome Andel. "Bro, for Pete's sake. This footage isn't even exciting."

"It is, for me." He grinned. "Look, there's Veronica."

He pointed to the lady Agent who was in a camouflage suit in the tree.

"Oh, nice." Harvey nodded his head.

"I don't want to get involved with your parade with the serpent but these crystals need protection. The people that they are going to meet there are not people mostly."

"What do~~do you mean?" Harvey raised his brows.

"Well," Andel sighed. "These crystals are dangerous so they need to be protected well. Somehow, old people praise them as their God. There are just unrealistic things in this world."

"For an example."

"Reincarnation. There are a lot of proofs that few reincarnated."

  Harvey nodded his head.

"I understand."

"You don't have to know anything else," Andromeda said as she reached her phone.

"Yeah, if you say so."

It continues to become intense. The team was more against nature than people. Johanna seemed to not mind anything as she continued hiking. She ignored the leech that couldn't get into her skin or more like she flicked them with her fingers. She made it first to the gate but then she realized that there was someone else with her.

Veronica stepped out from the tree as her suit turned black. She didn't initiate any attack and neither was Johanna. The ladies-only stand in front of the heavy gate. Veronica swung her katana when a venomous snake jumped at her. Suddenly, they both raced as they climbed on the vines. It was fascinating how they competed. But from the skills, Hannah Grace was faster.

"I would never get tired of watching Hannah Grace fight," Andromeda said.

"She's beauty and grace. Goddess of War." Andel commented and whistled. "Look how fast she caught a snake or another and toss it like it was nothing."

They all stopped when suddenly something big happened. A flying thing, gigantic with big claws, wide wings, ahead of an eagle, and a tail of a lion that grabbed Veronica. They all looked at each other. It doesn't look like a normal bird but Veronica stabbed it fast and swung her Katana to cut the wings. The gigantic bird let her go as she fell. She quickly pulled the trigger of her strings to the tree to catch her before she hit the ground. She used it to pull her up.

Hannah Grace was already above but as they looked around. The camera started getting static.

"Woah. What the hell?" Harvey frowned. "Are those mutated people?"

"They aren't," Andromeda told him. "If we take the Crystal of Sky there will be chaos but Veronica will have to speak to the guardian. I gave the codes, everything will be fine."

"How about Hannah Grace?" Harvey asked. "How about my little sister?"

"We don't know. It's their game. But I hope that they won't kill each other."  2

"Did you tell your agent not to kill her?"

"Well~~Uhh…" Andromeda shrugs. "Your sister might kill my agent."

Harvey shrugged, becoming a little anxious about what was happening. Are they supposed to kill those monsters? He was surprised. There were monsters lingering around. Mostly, there were flying monsters. None of them tried to hurt the monsters. The girls looked at each other as Veronica nodded her head. Then, they crawled down and jumped to the branches of trees.

The girls were fast as they raced to the gem in the middle of the temple. A man stepped out. Bald and have those bright blue eyes. He was only holding a crane and he swung it as Veronica and Hannah Grace flew away as those monsters jumped at them. Then, Veronica and Hannah Grace fought back, protecting each other. Suddenly, Veronica and Hannah Grace shouted ancient words that made all of the monsters stop.

Veronica and Andromeda looked at each other as they approached the guardian and knelt on him.

"Great!" Harvey sighed. "They are a team."

Veronica and Hannah Grace explained to him what was happening. Somehow, the guardian already saw them from a distance. They made a pact as the guardian broke the gem. He gave it to Hannah Grace and Veronica.

Suddenly, there were a lot of people going up and killing a few animals crawling down to them.

"We sincerely apologize." Hannah Grace said. "But you said this wouldn't work unless this is put together."

"Yes," The old man said.

"We will keep it protected, for now." Hannah looked at Veronica. "They shouldn't have this. The Dragon is doing everything to keep it away from the Serpent."

"It is best to keep it away." The old man said.

"But how about you?" Veronica asked the old man.

"I no longer live in this place, Veronica." The old man says. "I live somewhere further away. Somewhere, without selfish people in this world."

"That must be a good place to live." Veronica stood as she put the gem in her bag.

"Only the Dragon can enter." He smiled as the door to his temple opened and there was a bright light. Then, the monsters followed him inside. Inside the temple, they saw a paradise as the monsters turned into beautiful mythical creatures.

Veronica and Hannah Grace looked at each other. Confused.
