Unfortunate

Ace was currently stalking the lady who was seducing a lot of foreign men in the global city. She's pretty and pretty tall like a model. He sighed quite disappointed when he recalled to his head that she was a guy. Transgender. He wanted to end the mission right away. He just needed to get that guy's DNA to prove that he was indeed Jeremy Cha. 

The old man was dead and the Charles Empire was sending them a truce letter that Johanna signed. It will be like a lifetime truce but since the Serpent was trying to break that truce, it will be chaotic. He put on his sunglasses and he pouted when he saw Guinevere's adorable face. 

"I miss you." He mumbled. "You looked beautiful." 

"How can you see me?" Guinevere looked around and checked the phone. "I can't even see you." 

"Babe, I will be home soon but we have to talk." 

"About?" She asked as she continued typing. 

"I am adopting one of the girls." 

She stopped and stared at her monitor. 

"We are adopting, is that alright?" 

"Are you happy about that?" She asked. "How old is she?" 

"Nine." Ace sighed. "It's fine if you don't want but I want to sponsor the kid." 

"Babe, it's fine with me. Let's talk about it when you get here." 

"Okay, later." He hung up and went inside the restaurant where his target was. He~~wait, it was 'she' he should be referring to. He nearly smacked his head about that though. But anyway he went there, had his reservation, and sat there alone. He eyed the man~woman~man a lot until the man that changed his name into Jenny batted her eyelashes. He winked at the girl as he momentarily shivered thinking that it was a man. He's not judgmental but he's not just into it. 

He needed to keep this up. He needed to just have her DNA. He stood as he approached her. 

"Do you already have someone to dine in with?" He asked. He was disguised handsomely and it caught her eyes. 

"No. I am dining alone." She winked as she raised her long forefinger. "Just a moment, handsome." Then, she texted someone and put her attention on him. 

He felt her foot caressing his inner leg. He smiled and tried hard to flirt back. He listened as his team assembled. A waiter came up to get their orders. They flirted more until the food came up. They continue flirting while eating. He swore that his food wanted to come out of his mouth. 

"I will just go to the powder room." She took her purse. 

"Is it alright if I have the drinks cleared up? I want you to try something to drink." 

"Sure," She winked as she went to the powder room. So, it wouldn't look like he was going to drug her, he called for the waiter and ordered the wine. It was sent immediately after they cleaned up the table. 

The team is working so well and flawlessly that no one would think that they are in operation.

She came back, caressing his back as she sat down gracefully.

Guinevere was tired from all of the work, but she couldn't sleep as she was missing him. She was lying on their bed while wishing to be with Ace. She could sleep well with him hugging her, or maybe even after making love. She was waiting for his call although she knew that he was busy. He said that they will talk about the girl that he was going to adopt. Somehow, she felt a little disappointed when he decided on his own. However, she knew that he was just too kind as he wanted to support the kids that they rescued. 

She sighed as she stared at her phone waiting for his call. 

Shortly, her tablet was ringing as Ace's handsome face popped up. She quickly took it and put it on the stand beside her on Ace's side of the bed. Then, she smiled at him. 

"Hello, baby." He grinned at her showing off his naked top. "What show do you want tonight?" 

"No, Ace. You said that we are going to talk." She said. 

"Oh," he lay down as the camera was over him. "Uhm, I told you the girl's name, Jade." He showed her a photo as the girl was adorable and beautiful. She smiled a lot and she played with the kids. "She's smart, very disciplined and she's respectful." 

"You want to adopt her? I mean, she's already independent and she's not a baby. It won't be hard to take care of her." 

"Yes, that's right. But she needs parents and we will be great parents for her. What do you think?" 

She nodded her head. 

"I won't say no if it makes you happy, Ace. Do you want to adopt her?" 

He nodded his head. 

"I can adopt one of the boys if you want." 

"Whatever you want." She yawned. "Stay with me. I want to sleep now." 

"Okay, I will stay with you. I am napping early after that mission. We should sleep together. What do you think, beautiful?" 

"Yes." She mumbled. She slowly closed her eyes. "I will take a day off tomorrow to prepare her room. When will she come?" 

"Maybe in a few more months or two." He said. "She's still new in the school and I have to prepare a few of her transcripts and others. I already spoke to her as well." 

"What does she like?" She asked softly as she started feeling like she was about to doze off. 

"She likes pink and purple. I will send her number so the two of you can facetime." He grinned at her. "Babe let me see your beautiful~~" 

"I love you." She whispered and fell asleep. 

Ace just watched her from the monitor. He wanted to pull the duvet to tuck her in. It's just sad that he wasn't with her. 

"I love you so much, Guinevere." He said. "Let's get married when I get back." He grinned but she was in a deep sleep. 

In the morning, the first thing that Guinevere did was do her routine. And since she took a day off by herself and let the COO supervise the work, she did some yoga and boxing. Then, she finally called Jade who was from school. Jade smiled at her as they exchange how are you's. She asked about her day as the girl told her everything. She even said that she wanted to try ballet and swimming. She even told her about the boys who got into the tryouts. 

"Do you like it there?" Guinevere asked as she chewed on some strawberries. 

"I love it here because I am with Cole, Alexa, Jaime, and Yves… also, the Del Carlo family is great. We got to play on the lawn." 

"It's bigger in here." Guinevere grinned at her. "We are somehow neighbors of a castle." 

Her eyes widened. 

"Really?" 

"Uhuh," 

Jade thought for a while as she became lonely. 

"You will make new friends. Besides, you can stay there for a while whenever Ace visits the country." 

Guinevere looked behind Jade where a girl was staring directly at her. It was weird like that but she took a screenshot and sent it to Ace. 

"By the way, is that your friend behind?" When she asked Jade, the girl quickly turned back. Jade was horrified as she clenched her jaw. 

"That's double zero one," Jade mumbled. "They are targeting me because I was the weakest among them." 

Guinevere's face turned dark as she nodded her head. 

"You need to practice defending yourself and once Ace is done with your papers, you will be here with me. You will be safer." 

Jade sighed as she looked around. 

"Go and find your friends. Don't hang up." She told. 

Jade nodded as she quickly searched for others. On the other hand, she contacted Jade's bodyguard who was twelve meters away. She made sure that Jade was safe for the whole afternoon but then, she couldn't stay still as she tracked Jade since Ace gave her access after Jade was with Alexa and Cole and bodyguards, she hung up.  1

She thought that she could breathe after that incident. However, Jade called after an hour while she was crying. 

"What happened, darling?" 

"Yves is hurt. He got a broken arm." 

"What?" 

The girl hiccuped as she slowly explained that Yves was beaten up by the boy with a code name of double zero two. The boy was eleven years old. He's just a kid but he beat up a kid younger than him. 

"Honey, calm down." On the other hand, she called Ace while talking to Jade who continued to cry. They were just little girls but they then had to witness something horrible in their life.

It didn't take long when Ace answered. 

"Hey, Babe. I am currently in another city." 

"Ace, one of the kids got hurt. They are not safe in that school anymore. If the bodyguards didn't come there quickly and defend the boy, god knows what will happen next." 

"Okay," Ace said. "I will be there in two hours." He said. 

Guinevere hung up on both phones as she stared at them. She had decided. The kids were unfortunate and they needed a real family. She will take care of the girl.
