Family of Three

Five days to the Fashion Show, the Fu Family just finished dinner and was still sitting around the dining, when Old Mr. Fu spoke up...1

"I have an important guest that will be coming over in two days. I want everybody to be respectful and accommodating. If I learn that any of you acted out of line, the individual will be punished accordingly." 

His sudden announcement surprised the rest of the Family members including Fu Hua. 

He finished having a conversation with his grandfather before coming down for dinner, why didn't the old man tell him anything?

"Father, who is this special guest you are inviting over?." Fu Lei asked in a curious tone. He asked the question every other person wanted an answer to.

Old Mr. Fu glanced over at him. "You will see when she comes."

"A she?." Fu ChunHua thought to herself in surprise.

Turning to Fu Hee, Old Mr. Fu instructed, "Fu Hee, you will be in charge of my guest when she comes. Have a room prepared for her and get the necessary things needed." 

"Yes, Father." Fu Hee replied.

The old man entrusted his guest to her to take care of, which means that the person was important to him, so she has to do a good job with the task assigned to her.

"During her stay here, I don't want any drama." Old Mr. Fu added with his gaze on Fu ChunHua.

Fu ChunHua wanted to protest, was she the only one that liked looking for trouble?

Fu YingPei just like others was very curious about this person his grandfather was being so mysterious about.

"Grandfather, where is she from? Have I met her before? How long will she be staying over?." 

"Stop asking questions and do as I instruct." Grandfather Fu berated him.

Old Mr. Fu's words, caused the rest of the family members to look forward to his guest's visit.

They were curious and really wanted to know who this person was.

The next day, Mrs. Qin took a day off and dragged Jia Li to go and shop for new clothes.

"Mum I don't need new clothes." Jia Li said to her, but her words fell on deaf ears.

"You need new clothes. What kind of place are you going to, have you asked yourself that question?." Mrs. Win said as she dragged her out of the house.

"Mum, but it's not necessary. I will only be staying there for a few days, so there is no need to change my wardrobe. And besides, Grandfather Fu understands my background." Jia Li said in protest.

"But his family do not understand. You are the guest that he invited, so do you want to embarrass him by going over there with your shabby clothes?." Mrs. Qin said as she glared at her.

Jia Li got her mother's point and shut up. But she was still worried about her mother spending money just for her to look presentable.

Mrs. Qin brought Jia Li to a store and bought a few clothes for her. She also bought two new footwear for her.

When they got home, her mother helped her to pack her things into a small new suitcase :luggage: she bought for her.

"Mum, don't you think this looks like I'm moving into the Fu family?." Jia Li asked.

Oh! Jia Li, if only you know that you are actually moving into the Fu Family :zipper-mouth_face:

"There is nothing wrong with this luggage. It's already the smallest size. and besides, that's the only thing you're taking with you apart from your shoulder bag." Mrs. Qin said as she gathered her sketchbook and pencils, and put them into the luggage.

"If you say so." Jia Li said tiredly as she could only relax and watch her mother pack up her stuff for her.

That evening, Mr. Qin bought a lot of meat (Beef, Pork, Chicken, etc.) on his way home. His reason was that Jia Li would be leaving them for a few days, so he had to spoil her for a bit.

Mrs. Qin agreed with him and took the stuff he bought to the kitchen to cook up a hearty meal.

She didn't allow Jia Li to come in to help her. She did the work all by herself.

Jia Li felt so happy at being pampered by her parents. She was their only child and will forever be their Baby.

That night, the family of three had a sumptuous dinner and they talked and laughed as they ate their food.

In the morning of the next day, Jia Li refused to have breakfast, because she was nervous. Someone the Old Man sent, was coming to pick her up, so she was too nervous to eat.

This would be her first time in another big city, or more like country, apart from the other nearby city, she was attending college.

"Jia Li I know you're nervous, but you have to try and eat." Mrs. Qin said as she pushed back the plate of sandwiches :sandwich: to her.

"Mum, do you want me to embarrass myself? I may throw up in the car if I get too nervous and uneasy." Jia Li said with a frown.

She was too nervous to eat. She was going to a far place, but that didn't coerce her to eat.

"Jia Li, just take a bite. This is the last time you will dine with us before you will travel, so eat something, okay?." Mr. Qin said to her with a gentle demeanor.

Jia Li finally relented and ate a little, and that made her parents happy.

Soon after eating, their doorbell rang, and the family of three glanced at each other before Mr. Qin went to get the door.

It turned out that the people Grandfather Fu sent to pick Jia Li up, were around.

Mr. Qin greeted them and then went in to inform his wife and daughter.

"He actually sent a soldier, his butler, and a driver?." Mrs. Qin asked in a surprised tone.

"Yes. Old Mr. Fu really has our daughter at heart, and now, we can rest assured that she will be in safe hands." Mr. Qin said with a smile.
