UNDRESSED HER
Again. The dream of the five swords and the empty hall. What is that?
The dream came so often, which left Iris doubtful that it was just a coincidence, but if it was not, what was the meaning behind it?
She felt like she was missing something, yet she couldn't remember what, nor could she pinpoint what it was. Was it a person? A thing? She didn't have the slightest idea about this strange feeling.
But then, as soon as she touched one of those swords, she would wake up, even though she knew that she was dreaming every time she ended up in that room.
Iris opened her eyes sluggishly and then looked around her, she was aware that she had fallen sick because of the heat and also how Readmond had called a healer for her. Her consciousness drifted in and out, but she didn't remember that she was moved to a carriage.
This carriage was small, only enough for herself and she was currently the only one who occupied it.
Sluggishly, she pushed herself to sit down and opened the small window on her left. She noticed Ethan and Trion, riding their horses, but there were around ten more people around them, whom she didn't recognize.
This place also was not the way out of Arleen city.
Still feeling dizzy, Iris laid back down on the makeshift bed inside this carriage. As long as she noticed people that she knew, she would be fine. She would ask Redmond later.
And with that, Iris drifted off into sleep once again, her dreams became more and more frivolous, which she would forget once she woke up, but the dream in that empty hall with five swords would come so often.
Once they arrived at the pack house, alpha Gallot called over his servants and issued orders to help them to their respective rooms, because night had become deeper. They would leave the conversations and the pleasantries for tomorrow.
"Crown Prince, we can't tarry," Corry said impatiently. "We need to get the Asturi stem, or else the king will punish us. We have gone for so long."
"Ck!" Alan clicked his tongue in annoyance. He glared viciously at his old advisor. "Are you dumb? Lou said it himself that he will not give the Asturi stem without that bitch! Do you think you can force him to hand it over?!"
They were currently in a guest room, in the Moon Dew pack's pack house.
Once Alan learned Cane was in the black market and how he injured him viciously and humiliated him thoroughly, he sent his man to notify alpha Gallot and added a few words about how Cane was roaming around incognito in his pack, instead of announcing his arrival.
His goal was simple, since he couldn't get the Asturi stem because Cane didn't want to hand his mate over and seeked trouble with him, he would give him the real trouble back to him.
Alan was still unaware that the Asturi stem he wanted was already in Cane's hands.
In the opposite room of Alan's, Cane was given one room for him and Iris, while Redmond, Ethan and Will would stay in the next room. As for Trion and Avid, they were sent to the warrior's quarters.
Cane had carried Iris himself to their bedroom and laid her down on the bed, only to find out her dress was drenched with sweat. She was sweating profusely.
Her fever had not yet gone down, but she was sweating and mumbling something incoherently. Her parched lips slightly parted and her brows knitted tightly, as if she was in pain.
Before this, Cane had asked Ethan to boil the medicine and all he needed to do right now was to feed her.
"Wake up for a while, you need to take your medicine," Cane said, though Iris didn't hear him. He shook her body lightly, until she opened her eyes.
Cane propped her body up, placing her in his lap, while she rested her head against his chest, he cradled her with one arm and lifted the bowl of medicine with the other.
"Here, drink this." Cane brought the bowl to her lips and slightly tilted her head back so she could drink it, but she coughed and dirtied his shirt.
"I- I am sorry…" Iris said weakly. She felt so hot, she felt as if her entire body was on fire, tears streamed down her cheeks, not because she wanted to cry, but her eyes felt like they were burning.
"Slowly," Cane ignored her apology and brought the bowl to her lips once again. He held her body firmly.
Iris tried to drink it again and this time, she took her time, so she wouldn't spit it up for a second time. The medicine tasted so bitter and she hated it, but Cane didn't budge until she finished it all.
Once she finished, Cane took a glass of water and let her drink, to wash away the bitterness. After that, he put her back on the bed and started to undress her.
Sensing his hands on her body, Iris became alert, she opened her eyes and looked at him with fear, she tried to stop his movements, but she was too weak to begin with.
"Wh- what are you doing?" There was no way he wanted to do it, right? She was sick and if he forced himself on her in this condition, it would be the same thing as him trying to kill her. "St- stop."
Cane stopped, his eyes met hers, as he spoke indifferently. "You are drenched in sweat. Your condition will get worse if you let the dress dry on your body."2
"Oh…" Iris felt her face become even redder now. "I- I can do it…" She sluggishly tried to cover her body, instead of taking off her dress.
However, Cane didn't have patience for that, so he pulled her hands away and continued what he was doing earlier. "Let's get it done quickly, both of us need to rest."
Cane then undressed her swiftly, without much resistance from her this time and soon enough, Iris was stark naked before his eyes.
