IMPORTANT THING
Iris was reluctant to be on the same carriage with Lou, because he made her felt uncomfortable, especially because of their last encounter and how demanding he could be. 0
However, for someone like Iris, it was so hard to refuse him, because he was not aggressive and overall nice to her, as he smiled gently, while holding the door for the carriage open, waiting for her to get inside first.
"Don't tell me that you are afraid to share a carriage with me?" Lou asked Iris when he saw how reluctant she was, while her little maid huffed behind her, extremely disliked him, yet he couldn't care less about Hanna. "Don't worry, I will not bite," he said casually, winked at her neck, where the shifter usually marked their mate.
Hanna took a deep breath when she saw that gesture, she wanted to reprimand him, but her position didn't allow her to do so. If this red cloak man was roaming around the palace so casually, it meant he was someone important and she couldn't afford to offend someone like him.
Hanna tugged Iris's sleeve to get her attention. "Miss, lets take another carriage," she said softly.
"Why?" Lou's expression was crestfallen when he heard that, he looked hurt, but of course, Iris could see through his pretense. There was mirth in his eyes. "You really don't want to be on the same carriage like me? I feel so hurt…"
Seeing this situation, Iris felt awry. She didn't want to be difficult and make a scene here, after all, it was just a few minutes ride together and Hanna would be with her, there was nothing that would happen.
Moreover, she didn't know for sure why Lou was here and she didn't want to create more trouble for Cane by offending him, since this merchant seemingly had a close relationship with princess Osana.
"It's okay, it's only a few minutes rides." Iris tapped Hanna's hand that was holding her sleeve, which made her didn't have any other choice but to let her missy.
In an instant, a smile, as sweet as a blooming flower, appeared on Lou's lips. He was a handsome man, almost looked more beautiful than average pretty woman and was very flamboyant. He was the opposite character of Cane. He emanated warm and carefree aura.
"I promise I will behave," Lou said in teasing tone, but Iris didn't read that, while Hanna glared at him stealthily.
Lou offered his hand to help Iris to get into the carriage, but she simply climbed inside without his help, which made Hanna felt a little bit better. At the very least, this man wouldn't take advantage of her missy easily.
Meanwhile, seeing how his offer was being ignored, Lou shrugged his shoulder nonchalantly and then entered the carriage as well.
However, when Hanna was about to climb inside, Lou closed the door and grinned at her. "You are a maid, you should take a seat in front with the coachman."
"She will sit with me," Iris retorted, she looked at Lou sternly, but the merchant feigned ignorance.
"There is something important I want to discuss with you," Lou said, as he lowered his voice and his expression turned serious. "I don't think someone like your little maid should hear this."
Iris furrowed her brows, she tried to guess what kind of important thing that he wanted to discuss with her, but she didn't have any idea.
And in the end, her curiosity got the better of her, as she told Hanna to seat in the front seat, which she obliged reluctantly, only then the carriage finally moved toward the East palace.
"What important thing that you want to talk about?" Iris felt uncomfortable because Lou was staring at her intently.
"I think Lil thing will be happy to see you," Lou said, he leaned his back against the backseat, as they sat down across from each other, the scenery out there was so beautiful, yet Iris didn't have time to indulge herself in it when her focus was on the merchant in front of her.
"What do you want to talk about?" Iris didn't want him to change the topic. Hanna said the East palace was not too far, only ten minutes ride, thus if this was really an important thing, ten minutes was a very short time.
"Do you know where I got Lil thing? The animal is a rare creature," Lou said again with a sigh. "I spent a fortune to get it, but then I realized I need more fortune to raise it, since that creature eats magic stone," he lamented.
"What do you want to talk about?" Iris almost lost her temper, which was a rare thing that could happen.
On the other hand, seeing her angry little face only amused Lou, as his smile became so bright. "Red hair, tell me, what are you? How can you find those magic stone? Tell me your secret."
Lou leaned over abruptly, which forced Iris to lean back, so their face wouldn't be so close. She could smell his scent in this proximity and the irises of his eyes.
"Stay away from me or I will scream!" Iris hissed, she pushed him away, which Lou obliged and leaned back on his seat again.
"You don't need to scream, I told you that I will behave, right?" He flashed her a harmless smile.
"What is important thing that you want to say?" Iris clutched her cloak subconsciously, though Lou didn't attempt to get close to her again.
"That's important thing that we need to discuss," he replied innocently. "How can you find so many magic stone inside the cave? I need to fight Lil thing for the magic stone because that creature kept snacking on it."
"Not telling you," Iris replied curtly, she was annoyed.
However, Lou had not yet done with her. "Why not? Red hair, if you tell me, I will give Lil thing to you!"
But, in the distance Lou heard someone screamed. "MONSTER!"
