REDMOND WAS NOT HAPPY
After they walked for a few minutes in the narrow alley behind the jewelry store, they arrived at a two stories lodge. 0
"We will stay the night here," Cane told Iris, as he opened the door to a warm lodge, where the fire was burning in the fireplace and Leros and Clad gathered around it to warm their body.
Both of them immediately stood up when they entered the room and the alpha took Iris to sit down in front of the fireplace to warm her body up.
He helped her to get off her cloak and without saying anything, he left her there, as he walked away with Will in tow.
"Do you want hot chocolate?" Redmond tapped her shoulder to ask her. It seemed, he had been here for a few times.
Cane let Redmond knew this much because he held onto the fact this man wouldn't be able to betray Iris after he pledged his loyalty on her, thus as long as Iris was on his side, he didn't need to worry about him.
"Yes, please…" Iris said, she sat closer to the fireplace and was happy because she felt warm. She looked around and saw Leros and Clad minded their own business, they were not hostile toward Iris, but they didn't really think of her existence. They didn't even greet her.
Probably, because they still saw her as Gerald's daughter, which was something that was not surprising behind the reason why they ignored her.
Meanwhile, Ethan was rummaging the kitchen, looking for something to eat, since he didn't eat anything in this afternoon and bickering with Redmond made him starving.
Redmond returned not long after and handed a glass of hot chocolate for Iris.
"Thank you," Iris mumbled and sipped her drink. It tasted so nice, but of course, hot chocolate that Hanna made was still the best.
"When will you check on your condition?" Redmond started it again. He still didn't drop the topic and Iris immediately knew what he was trying to say.
"I am not pregnant and I am fine. Stop it." Iris threw him a stern look, but she was too delicate to be able to scare Redmond off.
He pursed his lips and decided to bring this matter to Cane directly.
==========================
"What now? What do you want from me now?!" Haco was furious. He had been very anxious, asking for a meeting with Cane ever since he learned that the one, he had cursed was princess Osana. He didn't even dare to leave the room and was in constant alert, afraid the royal warriors would barge in and take him away. "I warn you! If they catch me, I will spill the bean, I will tell them it was you, who had ordered me!"
"Okay." Cane nodded. Didn't seem to worry at all with the threat and this made Haco even more irritated and distressed about how care less the alpha was.
"Do you know the consequences of your action? Do you know what kind of situation you have dragged me in?"
"I know."
Haco felt like he wanted to pull his hair, feeling frustrated. Of course, Cane knew what he was doing and the consequences that entailed behind his decision.
"If you want to make a move to royal family, leave me out of it!" Haco growled.
Right now, Cane was having a conversation with Haco inside the room in the second floor, aside from both of them, there was also Will there, but he didn't utter a single word. He had been extremely quiet ever since he was here, not even Aderan could figure out what had happened to him. He always dismissed anyone, who was trying to talk to him and choose to be alone most of the time, if he didn't have a duty to finish.
Will was not a talkative person, but right now, they were well aware, there was something awfully wrong with him during the second monster attack.
"You can leave if you want." Cane leaned his body against the table behind him, he crossed his arms, as his dark eyes fixed on the grumpy old man. "The door is open."
"What?" Haco was taken aback, he didn't think that Cane would let him go easily. "You will allow me to go, but then you will send your men to kill me?"
Haco wouldn't be afraid of those shifters if he had enough magic stone. With his power, it was a kid play to fight them off, but the problem was; he didn't have any of magic stone and he was so broke to even buy one.
"No." Cane shook his head. "You can go to the palace and told them about what you have done or even the location of this place."
Haco scoffed when he heard that. "They blindfolded me when they took me here, I don't even know where I am right now."
Cane smirked. Haco was right. He didn't have any idea where this place was. "I can ask Leros to take you to the city and you can go to the palace on your own then."
Haco narrowed his eyes when he heard that. He knew it wouldn't be as simple as that, knowing how calculative Cane was, there must be something he had prepared if he let him go just like that.
"Don't you afraid I will tell them all about what you have done?" Haco was alarmed to see Cane's smile. Whenever he smiled like that, it wouldn't be a good sign.
"Sure, you can." Cane then added. "Do you have any proof?"
Haco was silent for a while, but one could see how his mind was working so fast. Cane was right. He didn't have a shred of evidence of the alpha's involvement in the curse. No one even knew about him, as he was trying to keep it low and let his existence unknown because of the lycan.
"It can be your words against the special envoy of the king." Can showed him the golden stamp.
