IT'S TIME
Redmond was against this idea, he was adamant for Iris to be left out of this crazy plan, but she was the sole reason how this plan would work. 0
He was so pissed to see how Iris was so eager to throw her life in danger to agree with this. He could see how Iris was trying to please the alpha. She was so willing to help him with whatever he requested of her. She became people pleaser right now, because she was afraid these people would leave her if she didn't have any use for them.
Redmond could see this pattern from Iris, where she always looked for assurance from people around her and was willing to bend her back to please them. He hated this attitude of her the most.
Especially toward Cane. His word and his view were very important for her.
That was how Redmond saw Iris and all he wanted was for her to have a little bit backbone to reject such dangerous plan.
"Would you also die if he wanted you to do so?" Redmond asked scornfully, as he watched the alpha shifted into his lycan form. It looked painful and he grimaced when he heard the sound of cracking bone. This was the first time he watched Cane's transformation and Redmond was still bitter to be part of this dark secret of him. "You must value your life also, you know."
Ethan, who heard that scoffed. "You need to stop lecturing her, you know. You demand her to grow up and be strong, but you treat her like a child." The warrior gave him a side eye. "Part of growing up is making your own decision and face the consequences. Stop nagging her, she has endured as much as hardship like the rest of us."
On the other hand, Iris paid no mind to their squabbling and approached the lycan, as the creature looked so grim when he saw her between Redmond and Ethan. He barred his teeth and let out a dangerous growl.
Seeing how Iris was about to approach the lycan, Redmond instinctively wanted to stop her, but Ethan swatted his hand before he could grab her.
"She is not a child and the lycan will tear you up if you touch her," Ethan warned him sternly.
Redmond should have learned his lesson when Cane was under the black magic that instigated by Aria. How the lycan was so fond of Iris and wouldn't let anything happen to her. The lycan would kill anyone, friend or foe, if they as much as touching her.
It was not Iris, who they needed to be concerned, but it was them that should be worried about their own safety against the lycan.
Redmond grumbled, but he dropped the matter and let Iris to approach the lycan. He still remembered how he was almost dead the last time he fought off this beast. After all, this cursed creature had killed a thousand beasts by himself.
Meanwhile, Iris came to the lycan and caressed its head, as the creature nuzzled against her hand. She was no longer afraid of him and from what she learned from Cane's explanation. He still had a clear control over the lycan when he shifted during the new moon, whenever she was there as well.
It was safe to say that the lycan was still Cane in a sense, though he had different form from his wolf.
"Should we do it now?" Iris turned around to look at Redmond and Ethan. Will was not there with them. He knew about this plan, but he was not part of it, for some reason. Cane didn't allow him to get involved in this mission and Iris didn't ask why.
"I think it's time," Ethan said.
============================
Lady Cyan came to the East Palace, where princess Osana lived. She went there under a guise, because she didn't want anyone to know her to be here and tend to the curse princess.
The corridor was long, but even from afar, Cyan and her ladies could hear the sound of Osana's screaming voice that echoed throughout the walls.
The sound of it was nerve- wrecking and made one felt horror in their heart. The sound came not only from the place of pain, but also agony and anguish. Just what kind of torture the princess was going through right now?
They were terrifying. It was not confirmed yet that a black magic could be infectious, but they were afraid they could catch something ominous only by standing close to the princess's bedroom.
However, they couldn't disobey their master.
On the other hand, Cyan didn't bother with such thought, because she knew black magic and this one was a mere curse. She was a dark witch as well, she had practiced dark magic for so long with her younger brother.
With steady step and hoodie that covered her face, she walked through the corridor with her four ladies.
"All of you can leave," Sarah said, once they were right in front of the princess's bedroom. She dismissed all the guards there.
These royal guards knew the identity of the woman that hid under the hoodie, thus they nodded politely and left, while the screaming and crying continued from behind the close door.
Cyan waved her hand and the door opened, and when she stepped inside, the door was closed on its own, as the screaming sound died down. People from outside the door couldn't hear that, but the scream continued inside the bedroom.
Right now, this room was covered by magic and there was only Cyan and Osana were inside.
"Cyan! CYAN! Please, do something! Do something!" Osana was screaming her heart out when she saw Cyan, but she couldn't approach her because both of her arms and legs were being tied up, so she couldn't scratch herself.
The rumor about her was bleeding on her own bed was not completely wrong and how her skin peeled off was not a false rumor either.
But, one thing that they missed was the fact that princess Osana had been scratching herself to the point it ruined her skin, even her healing ability as a shifter couldn't help it.
