"You know?" Ethan blinked his eyes and then pulled her to sit down on a bench nearby under a maple tree. "So, why are you here? Are you looking for Redmond?" Ethan clicked his tongue. "I am sure, he is dipping his dick inside the poor palace maid."

Iris was shocked when she read what he said. The words were too vulgar and Ethan realized almost immediately when he saw the horror in her eyes.

"Ops, sorry. Squabbling with him very often makes me a little bit dumb." Ethan didn't forget to blame it on Redmond. He would thrash talk about him all day long if there was someone would listen to his rambling. He had a lot of grievance against Redmond after all.

"I am looking for you," Iris immediately said before the situation became even more awkward. She clutched her dress nervously.

"Looking for me? Why?" Ethan couldn't remember if they had some unfinished business, or there was a reason for her to find him. "Why are you looking for me?"

However, with the consideration the alpha had brought her along with him in most of the mission and Iris knew Cane even his deepest secret, the gamma thought it wouldn't hurt to let her knew a little bit better about the situation.

After all, if she waited for Cane to get the answer, she would probably not get it at all, knowing the nature of the alpha.

"The fourth prince is having a secret deal with the people in the Andelus continent, he sold the magic stone that the Red Wolf pack had mined illegally, which caused so much loss for the kingdom."

Since the magic stone was being sold not under the kingdom's name, the profit didn't come to the royal's pocket.

"The alpha didn't care about that." Iris narrowed her eyes at Ethan. It was indeed an offense to the kingdom, but Cane was not the king, thus those losses didn't implicate him at all. It was well known that the royal family had a lot of underhanded deals, even the king himself and that matter with the magic stone had nothing to do with Cane, which caused him to kill prince Vemion.

"Well…" Ethan scratched his head that was not itchy. The weather had become warmer compared to the first time they arrived here, but Iris was still dressed thickly. "You don't want to know what else he had done."

What Ethan said before was the most 'gentle' wrongdoing Vemion had done, because the rest of it was as gruesome as the way he died.

"What he had done?" Iris became nervous as well, but she was adamant to know. She had gone so far to meet with Ethan and the answer she was looking for was only a step away.

"He dissected magic user's bodies to know how they got their magic." It was the most simple and considerate way to explain what Vemion had done.

"What do you mean dissected their body?" Iris was stunned when she heard that.

"He thought there is a secret of how those magic users got their power and he does research about it with a few important figures in the Red Claw pack and the money came from the black market, in which he got from selling children to Karam continent to be a slave, also from the magic stone that they sold underhandedly to Andelus continent."

Iris didn't know about this. Cane was right. His title alone as the prince of this kingdom, would be a guarantee he was not as innocent as he seemed.

Iris had never imagined about all of that if Ethan didn't tell her, because Cane wouldn't have explained such thing to her. And she believed him, there was no reason for the gamma to lie.

"If you think the way we treated the slaves in our mines is cruel, you must see how Red Claw pack treated the slaves, who are working in their mines." Ethan didn't elaborate further, but Iris could get the picture.

Ethan sighed when he saw how Iris's expression fell. She was shocked and it was written all over her face, because she still remembered how prince Vemion looked like a gentle and decent person. He had done such cruel research on the magic user?

"We can't survive if we don't watch our back, Iris. The alpha said the best defense is a good offense, therefore, we are always in a battle mode."
