During dinner, Iris kept scratching her palm, somehow she felt so itchy and the food tasted like sand in her mouth. She felt unwell the last time she met with prince Kellan, but every time she met with him again, the feeling was intensified. 0

There was something she must to remember, but no matter when she tried a little bit harder, she couldn't help, but feeling this fear crept in her mind. This feeling almost the same like when she entered a dark room, which was the place she was so afraid of.

Iris couldn't eat comfortably, as she kept scratching her palm and now the itchiness spread to her arms.

Meanwhile, Cane and prince Kellan was in the middle of an important discussion, in which Iris didn't have any desire to know.

All of sudden, Cane's hand stopped her from scratching herself and Iris lifted her head to see both of them were staring at her. "Did you touch something dirty?"

"I don't know," Iris mumbled, she lowered her head and saw her arms were so red, so did her palms. "I am not feeling well." She wanted to get out of this room, staying far away from prince Kellan.

"Did you eat the pie?" prince Kellan asked, concern in his voice.

Cane put his finger under her chin and lifted her head to look at him. "Did you eat the pie?" he repeated the question from prince Kellan, because Iris missed it.

"Yes, I took two bites of it."

"Ah!" Prince Kellan gasped and this reaction made Cane looked at his direction, his eyes questioned him about it. "I forgot that you have an allergy to strawberry, right?"

"You have allergy to strawberry?" Cane asked Iris and took a bite of the pie, from the taste of it, the pie was indeed a mixed of strawberry and apple.

"Yes."

"Call a healer here," Kellan immediately said to the warrior behind him. "Alpha, you can take her to the first room on the second floor, on your left."

Cane immediately helped Iris to get up, as her face blanched, she was starting to hyperventilate, as she breath with so much difficulty.

Because Iris couldn't steady herself, Cane took her in his arms, he carried her all the way out of the dinning hall, while she writhed in pain.

On the other hand, seeing how Cane rushed Iris out, both Hanna and Ethan immediately followed them, while Nala and the old woman next to her were confused.

"What's going on?" Nala asked the old woman, but she was as clueless as she was. In the end, both of them decided to follow them out.

"Who is that old woman with Nala Dmitri?" Kellan asked the warrior behind him. His voice was so calm and his calculative eyes stared at Nala and the mysterious woman.

"I will look into it, prince Kellan." The warrior left to find the identity of her, while Kellan was deep in thought. He allowed Nala to come to the orphanage because his king father told him to let her helped, even though there was nothing she could do here, but he couldn't refuse the order too.

Cane was aware of Nala's presence and had the same idea like Kellan that Nala was here to report back whatever happened in this orphanage and because there was nothing to hide, they paid no mind to her.

"Heaven! I didn't know there is strawberry on the table!" Hanna was freaked out when she knew what Iris had eaten. "She is allergic to that fruit!"

Because strawberry was not a common fruit in this continent, thus Hanna almost forgot about her allergic, since they didn't encounter the fruit so often.

"We need to call a healer!" Ethan said in panic, as he rushed out of the room, but Hanna stopped him.

"A healer will not help, because miss Iris's body will not respond to the healing magic." Hanna gave a glass of warm water to Cane, who helped Iris to drink it. At this point, Iris barely opened her eyes, her body was so cold, but she was still trying to scratch her arms, yet Hanna stopped her. "It happened once in the past when she was ten and the healer of the pack couldn't heal her, because she was not responsive to the healing power. We can only give her a conventional medicine."

Cane remembered how Iris's body was not responsive to a certain magic. "What did you do before?"

"Please stop her from scratching herself and don't lay her down, because she can't breathe when she is laying down, she needs to be in sitting position and I need to gather the herb that she needs." Hanna gave another glass of warm water to Cane. "Please, keep her hydrated."

And after telling Cane all she could remember, she rushed out of the room to gather the herb she needed.

"Go with her," Cane said to Ethan, who immediately followed Hanna.

Not long after that, the healer that Kellan had summoned entered the room, she immediately checked on Iris and casted healing spell, but just like what Hanna had told them, Iris's body didn't respond to the healing power.

"This is so strange, why my healing magic is not working on her?" the healer mumbled, she was a woman in her early forty with brown hair and dark eyes. Her eyebrows furrowed deeply, as she tried for the second attempt and then the third and the fourth, but the result was still the same. "Her body rejects the magic. This is the first time I see it."

"She is a runt," Cane said and the healer nodded.

"Probably because she is a runt, therefore, her body is developed differently." Though she said that, she was not convinced that was the sole reason her magic didn't work on her.

"Someone name Hanna, she is my mate's personal maid, has gone out to look for herbs she needs. It will be helpful if you can assist her."
