Hanna sympathized with her missy, because by imagining it alone, she could feel how embarrassing it was. She could understand why Iris felt so dreadful. 1

Because of the fact that men could have mistress and as many women as they wanted and it was not something to be frowned upon, their women would always be on alert for their appearance and how they took care of themselves.

Therefore, what Iris had done in front of Cane could be said as very disgusting and unacceptable.

"Don't worry, miss. From what I see, the alpha didn't say anything about it. He even stayed with you and never left your side during those two days." Hanna immediately comforted Iris before she felt even worse. "He didn't leave this room at all and kept holding you in his arms."

Iris wiped her tears, her curls stuck to her face and Hanna tucked her hair behind her ears. "He didn't leave the room?" Iris frowned. Wasn't he busy and had a lot of things to take care of?

"Yes. The alpha kept cradling you in his arms, as you were sleeping on his laps."

Iris remembered when she woke up the first time and found herself was being on Cane's laps. There was no way he kept holding her like that, right?

Hanna then added. "Every time I entered the room, the alpha would be in the same position. He even took care of my job to wipe your body."

"You let him?!" Iris shrieked, her face turned red. Even though that was not the first time he helped her like that, but he didn't need to, because right now there was Hanna, who could do it. Why would he take the pain to thoroughly take care of her?

"Is not like I can refuse him, right?" Hanna was right. There was no way she could go against the alpha's words. "Miss…" Hanna nudged her missy.

Iris lifted her head and looked at Hanna, who was staring at her mischievously. "Hm?" What now?

"I think the alpha genuinely cares for you. I think he falls for you," Hanna giggled when she said that, her smile became even wider when she imagined it.

"Don't talk nonsense. Of course, he cares, I am his mate."

Hanna pursed her lips. "Many men couldn't care less about their mate, as long as they are available when they need them, it was enough for them, but the alpha is so different. He is so cold, but he cares for you through his action."

Iris couldn't agree with her, knowing Cane always did something with precise calculation, she would always question his genuine act, since he wouldn't do something that waste his time. More so, Iris knew Cane needed her. It would be enough reason for him to treat her well, right?

So did Iris. She needed Cane to survive. In the end, they needed each other, as it benefited the two of them in the long run.

Despite that was what Iris said to herself, she still felt bitter to question Cane's sincerity. She felt, she became greedy now for wanting more after he treated her decently.

"He even stood up for you when that snake Nala disrespected you."

"Because I am his mate, if someone disrespects me, they also look down on him too, that's why he did what he did to Nala." That's why Cane told her to stand up for herself more, because she carried the title of luna, as his mate.

Hanna was about to retort that, but suddenly the door was opened and the alpha walked into the room, while holding a tray full with breakfast.

"Oh, I am sorry, alpha. It should be me, who prepared this for both of you," Hanna said, as she immediately stood up. She should have come with Iris's breakfast, but instead, she rushed here first to see her missy, which made the alpha, who served the breakfast.

"You can leave," Cane said curtly to Hanna, without even looking at her. He sat down next to Iris and put the tray on the bed. There were a lot of food there and the smell was so appetizing.

Hearing that, Hanna happily left, but before she walked out, she took the opportunity of the fact the alpha didn't pay her any attention to wink at Iris. She glanced at the breakfast Cane brought and smiled meaningfully at her missy, as if she wanted to say what the alpha did now highlighted the point she had told her before. He cared for her through his action.

"Come, eat this." Cane took a spoonful cream soup to her mouth and help her eating slowly. He was very attentive, as he alternately gave her different food, so she could taste all of them.

On the other hand, Iris was famished. She had not yet eaten anything for two days and she only realized how much she was hungry when she tasted the food.

"I am full," Iris murmured.

In the end, she couldn't finish all of them, because Cane brought too many foods and it would upset her stomach if she ate too much after not eating anything for two days.

Cane didn't insist, as he put away the tray and walked toward the door, apparently, someone had been knocking and when the alpha opened it, this person gave him something.

It was a simple white dress that was folded neatly.

"You need to change, we will go back to the palace now." Cane had postponed a lot of important things and the king had been very agitated because he kept pushing the matter regarding the lycan with an excuse he couldn't leave his mate alone. He didn't lie this time when he said Iris was sick.

More so, he refused to talk to Nala, no matter how hard she tried, as he instructed not to bother him when he was inside the room to tend to his mate, thus Nala couldn't come close to him because he had locked himself inside the bedroom with Iris.

From the information Cane got from prince Kellan, a witch was accompanied Nala when she came to the orphanage and both of them had this tacit understanding that Nala didn't have a good intention to come here, after all she had nothing to do with the whole matter of the orphan children and the construction of the new building. The fact she was ordered by the king to follow them here alone was worth of suspicion.

"I will change my dress, can you leave please?" Iris asked sheepishly when Cane approached her with the clean dress.

"I will close my eyes, you can change." Cane walked toward the sofa and sat down there, as he closed his eyes. He had not gotten any sleep for two days and now, seeing Iris was fine, he finally could rest.

"Alpha?" Iris called him, as she got off the bed and started to undress herself, she felt a little bit energetic now after ate somthing.

"You can call me by my name," Cane said with his eyes still closed.
