NOT TO TELL ANYONE
"What?" Redmond tilted his head in confusion. He looked at the alpha, as if he was talking in different language. "What do you want to know?"2
Cane didn't answer that rhetorical question, but the way he looked at Redmond made the warrior started to talk without asking another unnecessary question.
"I am not always around the pack house, okay? So, I don't know much about it. More so, you would only be able to see her one in a blue moon, since she spent her whole life inside her bedroom. She was a sickly child." Redmond shrugged his shoulder. "Now, she still easily gets sick."
This was not the answer Cane was looking for. "Think harder."
Redmond was slightly taken aback by how Cane acted right now, which made him forgot to stand up, as he still sat down on the ground, looking like a slave in front of his master.
"I don't know much about anything around the pack house, since I didn't use to be there, I spent my time in the training ground and in the mines."
At that time, Redmond didn't directly torture Cane and his people, but he didn't stop his men when they did it to them and only watched from the side. Well, some time he would get some women from Cane's pack to be bedded.
However, the look on Cane's expression made Redmond tried to think harder, as he cursed under his breath. He just woke up and the way he was woken up was not really nice, his mind was still not fully working.
"I saw them played once, but that's it. I don't remember anything else." Redmond furrowed his brows deeply, as he shook his head. He couldn't force himself to remember something he didn't know.
"What did you see?"
The crease between his brows deepened, as he clicked his tongue. "It was a normal game, it was a chase and catch game."
"What did they do?"
Redmond rolled his eyes. "I know you were born as the son of the alpha, but don't tell me you don't know this game."
Cane really didn't have time for his blabber, if this was any other day, he would let it slid and simply ignored his inappropriate jab like usual, but at this moment, he was only a breath away from losing his sanity. The warrior should thread his words carefully.
"Should I explain how to play the…"
Before Redmond could finish his words with his mocking tone, Cane had grabbed his neck and you could hear a soft crack, which made Redmond's eyes bulged because of the sharp pain.
The alpha didn't really break his neck, but he was going to do that and Redmond could see it in Cane's eyes. The killing intention was so thick.
"They… played chase and catch game… it was prince Kellan, who chased after her and when he caught her he would hug her and kiss her cheek before he let her go again to run. That's it, only that."
In Redmond's eyes, there was nothing wrong with that, especially when prince Kellan liked children and he always very close with them. This orphanage was the proof of his kindness and his compassionate toward those unfortunate little ones.
However, what Redmond said rubbed Cane in the wrong way. He didn't want to point his finger, because he disgusted the possibility. Perhaps, he was in denial right now because of how messed up this thing could be if it was true, but his logic put pieces of what happened together.
"I swear! I only know that!" Redmond had never felt this kind of fear before. He wondered how could he was so brave to talk thrash with Cane before this, because right now, he was so terrifying.
Redmond was not a coward, or a scaredy person, he was a battle hardened warrior, who had his fair share of fear and death, but there was something very ominous emanated from the alpha, which would make you dread for your life, as if by seeing his eyes, you could see your painful death came closer to you.
Fortunately, not long after that, Cane let him go and walked away. It took more than ten minutes for Redmond to recover his wits, before he cursed under his breath, as his cracked bone started to heal.
"Shit. I thought I was going to die…"
He even forgot to tell Cane about his theory of Iris's pregnancy. What happened with him? Did he actually get jealous of prince Kellan?
=============================
"Leave."
The alpha's voice was so cold, which made the four women, who were giggling a second ago immediately froze, they turned around, startled, only to see Cane was standing inside this humble kitchen.
He actually didn't have a patient to wait for someone to call Hanna over, instead, he found her here by himself.
The four women were too surprised and afraid by the scary aura that exuded from the alpha. They knew Cane didn't talk much, but he had never treated them poorly. What was actually happening that caused him looked so angry like right now.
"No, you stay." Cane stopped Hanna from leaving.
Hanna glanced at the other three women, who gave her a helpless look. There was nothing they could do if the alpha told them to leave.
On the other hand, Hanna tried to think what kind of offense she had done. The most recent was the dress with complicated strings that he gave for her missy, but aside from that she didn't do anything that could incur the alpha's wrath. Was her mistake with the dress was too severe?
"Al… alpha… is there something I had done… wrong?" Hanna looked so scared she didn't even dare to raise her head to look at the alpha, as she stared at her own feet. She had never seen alpha Cane showed this intense emotion. Usually, he was very expert to conceal whatever feeling he had, no matter what the situation.
"Since when Kellan played with Iris?" Cane asked after he closed the door behind him and made sure no one nearby to listen to this conversation. He didn't beat around the bush, as his question was very straightforward.
The question caught Hanna out of guard, because she didn't expect this.
"Talk!"
Hanna flinched, her legs were about to give up, as she trembled in fear. Cane even used his alpha's voice on her.
"I am… I am not sure…" Hanna stammered. "The fir- the first time I found out they were playing together was when miss Iris around eight years old… but, miss Iris said they used to play often whenever prince Kellan visited the Blue Moon pack. Mi- Miss Iris said prince Kellan used to come to her bedroom whenever I was not there."
Cane walked across the kitchen. This place was not so big, but was well equipped with the things that they needed to make food. The alpha grabbed a glass and when he spoke again, his voice was so icy cold.
"How come you didn't know about that?" Cane poured himself a glass of water.
"Because miss Iris said prince Kellan told her not to tell anyone."
