THE DAM HAD BEEN BROKEN
Kellan asked the little Iris to kneel, as both of them didn't wear a single piece of clothes. He was smiling so warmly at her, as if there was nothing wrong with their situation. He playfully teased her because she looked so afraid, trying to calm her down and emphasize it was only a game. 2
'This is a new game. You will like it. Relax, okay? Or else, I will not play with you anymore, because it's not fun.'
Kellan made her kneel in front of him, as he came closer to her and spoke in his hush voice.
'Touch me here… it's okay. I know you are full of curiosity. You want to know, right? Right?'
Iris couldn't hear the way she screamed her heart out, while hitting her head so hard with her fist, as if by doing so, she could get rid of the image out of her head, she screamed until her throat became sore and didn't stop, she even became more and more frantic when she felt someone touched her.
"Iris!" Cane called her name, asking her to open her eyes, but she didn't respond well with his touch.
The alpha rushed into the room once he heard her earth- shattering screaming and found his mate was trying to hurt herself, she kept hitting her head and clawed her lips, leaving them bleeding.
"Stop it, Iris!" Cane was struggling to make her stopped, but at the same time, he needed to make sure he was not hurting her.
On the other hand, Ethan was dumbstruck to see how Iris was right now, he had never seen her out of control like this before and how she tried to get away from Cane, as she kept crying and screaming.
"Wh- what happened?" Ethan stammered, he felt like Iris was going crazy. How could such a delicate and timid woman like her flipped out and looked so violent?
She almost looked like she was possessed. Her auburn hair looked so messy, like fire flared up, while her face was so red.
Now, Ethan really wanted to know what had happened. It was not clear what was actually happening between Cane and Iris and the alpha's sudden enmity toward the prince. The gamma knew everything were connected, but how?
"Wh- what can I do? Should I call a healer?"
"Get out!" Cane roared toward his gamma, because he didn't want him to see Iris in this vulnerable state.
More so, there was nothing the gamma could do, even a healer's power was so limited against Iris, because of her unique constitution.
"Okay, okay." Ethan immediately scrambled out of the room, leaving Cane alone to deal with Iris. If the alpha told him to leave, he must know what to do with her.
On the other hand, Iris still tried to hit her head, to get rid the horrendous images that kept flooding in her mind. She wanted to forget everything.
If it was so terrifying in the past when she still was not aware of what he was doing, even more now. The images were so vivid, as if she watched her younger self was being taken advantage of.
Iris still remembered what Kellan said when he made her touched himself and the expression on his face, how he smiled at her and complimented her how beautiful she was. How she did a great job, while guiding her little hand to the place he wanted her touched him.
'That's right… like that… you are a good girl, Iris. My little Iris… hm, you are really clever. You are a good little girl, right Iris?'
Iris wanted to rip her head, she wanted this disgusting feeling to end. She really wanted this to end.
"Iris! Open your eyes!" Cane knew his words wouldn't reach her and he could see how he accidentally hurt her because he tried to stop his mate from hitting herself.
Cane literally pinned her down on the bed, because she tried to kick him, so he could get away from her, while he pressed down both of her hand above her head, so she could stop hitting herself. Her wrists bruised, as Cane had to use a little bit strength.
Without being able to use her hands, Iris opened her mouth, she was about to bite down her tongue instead.
Cane recognized the gesture, since he had witnessed it a handful of time when his people couldn't take the torture from Gerald any longer and they decided to make their own escaped.
Without a second thought, Cane used his hand to put it between her teeth, so she bit his hand instead, blood spurted out of the wound. She was really determined to harm herself. One could only imagine if it was her tongue, instead of Cane's hand.
The blood oozed out from the wound, yet Cane didn't pull his hand. He let her to bite him down as long as she needed. There was no anger in his dark eyes. His expression was as stoic as ever.
He promised her not to hurt her, that including to protect her from hurting herself.
Slowly, Iris opened her eyes, her gaze was obscured and she gradually stopped struggling, feeling the blood in her mouth.
"It's okay," Cane said, knowing she was looking at him now. "You are safe."
Iris sobbed, her whole body was trembling, but then she coughed, because the blood from Cane's injured hand filled her mouth, thus he pulled his hand and moved aside, thus Iris could roll her body and spat the blood, as she coughed so hard.
Cane patted her back lightly, as the bed was a mess, blood splattered on the white sheet. Iris breathed raggedly.
She coughed and vomited, this time, she didn't have time to care whether Cane was there or not, she was too numb with her surroundings, but ironically, she was loathing herself to the point she wanted this feeling to end.
"Arggh!" Once again, she screamed so hard, as if by doing so she could escape from her misery.
However, it was a futile effort, the dam had been broken and the memories had been flooded back to her mind, she couldn't seal it back like she used to, neither she could pretend all of that had never happened.
Iris screamed and vomited on the bed, while Cane watched her from the side, letting her to vent out whatever she felt right now, as long as she didn't try to hurt herself, he stayed away from her. He gave her space, because he knew, she didn't want to be touched right now.
The wound on Cane's hand had healed when Iris finally collapsed on the bed, curling herself like a ball, crying so hard her whole body was trembling. Her hair was a mess and her body was dirty because of the blood of the vomit, but she couldn't care less about that anymore.
She didn't care what Cane would think to see her right now. It would be good if he ended her right there and then.
But instead, Cane went to the bathroom and filled the tub with water before he returned to the bedroom and carefully carried her in his arms.
