THE ALPHA'S MOVE
Cane approached Alpha Gill, he knelt down beside him and then stretched out his hands. He stuffed his fingers into his mouth, as he gripped on his upper jaw and the other gripped on his lower jaw, he pulled his mouth apart very slowly, until the poor alpha let out a gagging sound.
Once Alpha Gill realized what Cane was about to do to him, he let out a shrill scream when he felt his mouth was being ripped apart. His eyes bulged, as they filled with dread, but soon, his scream turned into a gurgling sound, because his blood blocked his throat, pooled inside his torn mouth.
Cane really took his time to watch him in agony, he even stopped to let his cheek healed, before he continued. His eyes were so cold, as if the horrendous scene before him was nothing. There was no emotion whatsoever on his face. There was no joy, neither anger, but this kind of numb feeling only made him looked even scarier.
Meanwhile, all the warriors had turned their head away, averting their gazes from the brutal scene, while Redmond watched everything with his jaw dropped. Cane was going to kill alpha Gill!?
Was that alright to kill alpha Gill? Was that wise to kill him?! Wouldn't he dig his own grave?! What his reason to kill him?! What he would say to the king and the pack member of the Riverside pack when he killed their alpha?! Would he take the same path like what the Blue Moon pack did to Howling Wolf pack?!
Redmond couldn't understand Cane's intention and plan. He just arrived a few days ago and aside from given the order to keep his eyes on Iris, which he did gladly, he was only tasked to do some trivial things, there was nothing important that could make him able to figure out Cane's grand plan.
What happened to alpha Gill lasted for, more less, one hour, where all that time, the alpha was still alive, until Cane really tore his head apart. His head split into two, where his lower jaw and lips still attached to his neck and the rest of his head was thrown across the room by Cane.
That one hour was a hell for alpha Gill before he breathed his last in such gruesome state. Cane stood up, alpha Gill's blood dripped from his front cloak and from his hands, some splayed on his face, as he stared at it with disgust.
All of the warriors lowered their head solemnly, as if they prayed, it wouldn't be them next, so did Redmond. A lot of memories flashed in his mind when he taunted the alpha and provoked him a few times in the past. Now, seeing what happened to alpha Gill, somehow, he felt grateful to still have his head.
With Cane's brain and his viciousness, Redmond knew, if this alpha wanted him dead, he would have lost his head without him knowing it, or rather walked straight to his trap blindly.
After Cane was done with alpha Gill, he walked toward Redmond and before the warrior could react, Cane had his hand wrapped around his neck and slammed him to the ground, as Redmond landed next to the headless alpha Gill, his back drenched with his blood.
For a split second, Redmond thought, Cane would attack him again and out of instinct, he immediately went into a defensive stance, but as it turned out, the alpha only stared at him coldly, as if hell could be frozen by a single look of him. The sight made the warrior shuddered, as he knew, he wouldn't stand a chance to win if Cane really attacked him.
As a shifter, most of the time, one could sense if their opponent was way stronger than you and more dominant, that was how they distinguished the alpha among people, especially a trained warrior like Redmond.
For a few moment, the atmosphere turned very still, as though the time stopped ticking.
"That's what you will do if something like this happened again to my mate," Cane finally spoke, his voice was even, but it sounded so dark and murderous. "But then, your corpse will be laid next to them."
In another word, Redmond would be killed along with whoever touched his mate inappropriately, as Cane wouldn't tolerate his failure to protect Iris again.
Something like this shouldn't happen in the first place if Redmond did his job right.
"Understood?"
"Un- understood," Redmond said with shaky voice, he lowered his head, because Cane looked so feral and vicious right now, he didn't want to provoke this alpha.
True to his word, there was a high possibility, he would end up like alpha Gill.
"Put his head on a spike and his body on the wall at the fortress." Cane meant for everyone to see what kind of fate alpha Gill had.
Two warriors immediately stepped forward to do Cane's order and the rest followed the alpha out of the room, so did Redmond.
While Redmond was still dreadful with the threat and warning Cane gave to him, the warriors from the Howling Wolf pack exchanged look with each other about how their alpha treated their luna.
Same like Jace, they wondered, how their alpha looked so enraged with what happened to his mate, since in their mind, the only reason Cane kept Iris was because the Blue Moon pack. However, his reaction was over the top and killing alpha Gill would jeopardize the plan… right?
They heard what Iris had done for them during their slavery time, but the story about it somehow hard to believe, they were still rather cynical with the story, especially only a few people, who were there when Hanna told them the truth and as time went by and they didn't know Iris personally, since she stayed out of the pack most of the time, the story about her good deed almost like a folklore.
The story was existed, but no one could prove the truth about the event.
They were in the state of respecting Iris because of Cane, but if they could, they didn't want to get involved with her personally.
This was why Redmond was very worried and distraught when Cane didn't show any response neither reaction to alpha Gill's accusation, because these warriors from the Howling Wolf pack, would easily believe those nonsenses.
"What we will do now, alpha?" Oliver asked, he was the warrior of the second command under beta Jace. He had brown eyes and curly, short hair. He was rather lanky for a warrior, but he was so fast.
"Where are the four alphas and their warriors?"
"All of them inside the main hall, as they enjoyed the party. As per your instruction, we have told Sir Elijah to order his warriors to surround the main hall, but he wants to see you first. He makes a fuss to inform the king about you mobilized the warrior from the borders without his permission."1
"Where is he?"
Oliver then led his way toward where Sir Elijah waited for the alpha.
"Alpha Cane!" Elijah immediately approached Cane, fuming, once he saw him.
Yet, before he could protest, Cane showed the golden stamp to his face.
