A TASTE OF FRUSTRATION

Cane could concoct a grand plan that caused a catastrophe throughout the continent and rendered the king useless with the power in his hand, but he couldn't figure out what the cause of Iris's anger, since all the logical thing that he could think of was not enough to make her mad. 

Gill had died and it didn't look like she was dealing with her trauma right now, because Cane could feel the anger was directed at him. What he had done so wrong to incur her wrath?

Was it the recent news of the baby? Iris knew very well the baby was not his. It was Redmond's. 

"Talk to me, why are you angry?" Cane asked her calmly, but his grip was firm, because Iris tried to get away from him. If it was any other day, he would let her go to cool off, but the alpha was being a little bit selfish right now. He didn't want to wait and demand an answer from her, an explanation about what bothered her. 

Iris glared at him, because she couldn't make him to loosen his grip and Cane held her dagger look. He didn't budge. 

"Why are you angry?" Cane asked the same question again, but this time, Iris bit his wrist in her attempt to avoid him. It was clear, she didn't want to speak, yet Cane wanted the opposite. 

He didn't like their current state right now. He was not comfortable with what was happening between them. 

This could be said as their first real fight, as both of them were so stubborn and didn't want to back down. 

The alpha let his mate to bite him as she liked, after all, this was not the first time she bit him, though he would prefer the first…

Cane stared at her curly, auburn hair, which slightly messy, strands of hair loosened from her braids, though he could feel her teeth sunk into his flesh, he didn't flinch and caress her head instead, which made Iris to lift her head and swat his hand away. 

"Don't touch me!" Iris screamed in anger. Her emotions were all over the places, she felt like she was no longer able to know what she was angry for. It was a mixture of fear, anger, frustration, panic, clueless and everything else… 

It was so hard for her to communicate her feeling, forming it into words and being angry was way easier. 

"Don't touch me! Don't touch me! Don't touch me!" Iris snapped, she balled her fists and started to hit Cane. She hit his arms and chest, but he didn't budge, neither he let her go, instead, his eyes became sharper and his jaw hardened to see Iris lost it. 

Before his eyes, he could see how Iris became frantic and confused. 

When Cane didn't give any reaction with her hitting him, she kicked him instead. She tried to kick his leg so hard, but she forgot, the man before her had gone through so much worst than this, he was built differently…

"Ah!" Iris immediately knelt down when her toe sprained after she kicked his shin. Cane quickly squatted down as well to check on her, but a harsh slap landed on his cheek, which made both of them surprised. 

The pain in her palm snapped her back from her conniption, but the next thing that happened made both of them unable to utter a single word, as Cane kissed her roughly. He put his hand on the back of her head to deepen their kiss. 

They could taste the frustration and desperation from one another…

"Mother, please…! Please! Stop this! Argh!!!" Alan screamed on the top of his lungs, while no one could save him, since it was only him and his mother inside this room, the damned room, which had confined him for weeks! "Mother, please! You are going to kill me, if you keep doing this!"

Alan felt his heart would burst into million pieces, as it beat so fast, he was having a hard time to breath, his face turned red and all of this happened because of lady Cyan, who looked at him with so much anger in her beautiful eyes. Murderous intention radiated from her when she gritted her teeth. 

If she didn't have any use of this useless son of hers, she would have killed him long time ago! She hated children and having a child on her own didn't change that feeling at all!

The only thing that kept her from killing Alan was the fact, they needed this useless, spineless creature to be alive until the time was right. 

"Enough, Cyan," Dexter said, he put his hand on Cyan's shoulder, trying to calm her down, because she looked like she was going to kill Alan for real this time. 

"How can I give birth to this useless thing like him?! Did I forget to give birth to his brain?!" Cyan gritted her teeth, as she fought the urge to kill him right there and then. 

Thanked to Cane's scheme, she could put his brother as the leader of the royal sorcerer without making a fuss and raising any suspicion, but the son of hers had dug their own grave to invite the Serafim to this continent. 

Lady Cyan put down her hand, she couldn't kill him, or else, decades of plan would go down to the drain. She was right when she thought a stupid people could drag the people around them down to their demise with their stupidity. 

But, it was so ironic when the stupid figure was her own child. 

"How long is she?" Lady Cyan closed her eyes to collect herself. 

"The child will be ready in the end of this spring." Dexter went over to check on Alan, who was whimpering pitifully. 

"Mother, how can you not do anything when they talked rubbish about me and stripped me from my status?!" Alan wailed, feeling unfair and this only made lady Cyan boiled in anger.  1
