Iris was a runt, that was what he knew about her in the beginning, but at this point, after witnessing what she could do, he was not sure about that anymore. 

There was not many information about a runt, but based on a little knowledge he had, no runt could perform magic. They couldn't shift, neither they had magical ability. 

Yet, Iris proved it time and time again, she had a special ability and Haco himself told him about how he mistaken her as a magic user when he saw her for the first time. 

But, how could be? Iris's parents were shifter, there was no doubt about that… 

"Where did you get this color?" Cane touched a flock her fluffy, curly hair, as he twirled it between his fingers. 

Iris had mentioned before she got this color from her maternal side, but she was not sure about it too, because it was her nanny at that time, who explained it to her when she was a child, which was not really reliable. 

Cane had asked Mason about what happened ten years ago and about Iris, but he didn't know much about his sister. 

Cane narrowed his eyes, as he contemplated something. His jaw hardened, he was deep in his own thought, while staring at his mate. It was hard to tell what was running through in the depth of his mind, until midnight came and his body started to shift into his lycan's form. 

This transformation was not as painful as before he met with her. The pain was bearable and Cane could keep his consciousness to a certain level, as long as he was close to Iris, as if the lycan didn't want to do anything and was content enough to blanket itself with her scent, allowed Cane to take the control. 

The night was silent and the lycan snuggled closer to the sleeping woman, craving for warm and peace...

Once Jace could get away from the drunk alpha Dristan and Koda, he immediately hunted down Ethan's whereabouts. 

As it turned out, he was guarding in front of the alpha and the luna's bedroom, as tonight was a new moon and no one was allowed to enter. 

Thankfully, with the dinner went well and alpha Dristan and Koda were intoxicated, no one would interrupt Cane at this moment. 

"Ethan!" Jace rushed toward the gamma, once he learned he was here. 

Ethan jolted when he heard Jace's fierce voice calling his name. "Wh- what?" he stuttered, afraid to see the beta's expression right now. Did he do something wrong? But, he just arrived, how could he incur his wrath when he didn't do anything?

"Tell me everything!" Jace demanded, his voice was stern, he was literally hissing at Ethan to keep his voice low, but he couldn't hide the urgency in his tone. 

"T- tell you what? What do you want to know?" Ethan tried to get away from this beta out of instinct, his body turned defensive when Jace grabbed his shoulder to keep him in his place. "What is it? You scared me."

"Tell me what happened to the alpha, tell me why he changed so much!"

"Calm down, calm down." Ethan tried to push Jace away, because he was so close and their position would be misunderstood if there was someone saw them right now. "Can you move away? You are breathing on my face!" Ethan became a little bit irritated. 

Realizing their position, Jace immediately took a step back, but he demanded the answer. 

"Explain to me why the alpha is so attached to her. I heard they sleep in the same bedroom, the same bed." Even in the pack house, they had different bedroom for the alpha and luna, more so, Jace knew how much Cane disliked someone else on his bed, let alone sharing it with another woman. 

"Oh, right… they slept in the same bedroom," Ethan replied lightly, as if there was nothing wrong about that fact, as he used to it by now, but it was different matter with Jace. 

"I saw… I saw them kissing…" Jace looked like someone had stolen the air he was breathing when he mentioned it. 

Ethan frowned. "I have never seen them kissing, but I am sure they did more than that behind the close door."

Jace gasped in shocked. "You know how Cane is. I can understand if they have sex every now and then, after all they are mate, he did that with Aria too, but you know… kissing is… Cane repulsed it." 

Both of them remembered how it ended up with Aria when she tried to initiate it, thus Ethan must know how big of a deal it was for their alpha to let Iris kissed him. 

However, to Ethan surprised, he didn't feel shock at all to learn about that, as it was already expected. 

"Yeah, I know. This must be weird for you to see Cane's change, because you only meet him after a few months, but for me and the rest of the warrior, who have been witnessing the interaction between Cane and Iris every day, such thing is not a surprise at all."

"What?!" Jace widened his eyes. "Tell me, tell me everything!" 

Ethan's eyes glinted with mischievous when he saw how flabbergasted the beta was. He thought, he would spend the rest of the night standing in front of the door, counting star and staring at the moon, but as it turned out, he got a company.  0

"Sure!" Ethan said cheerfully, he was ready with his story telling skill. He sat down on the floor and leaned his back against the closed door behind him. "Come here, sit down. This will be a long story, you better sit comfortably. Oh, wait, wait! Don't sit down yet! It will be nice if we have a few snacks and drinks too! Why don't you go and fetch something for us from the main hall? "

"Are you kidding me? Are you ordering me around? I am your beta!"

"Do you want to hear the story?" Ethan blinked his eyes innocently.
