Cane was on alert when he saw the sudden change on her expression. "What did you see?" He was clueless about what Iris was going to talk about. 

Iris bit her lips and stopped walking again. "A wisp."

"Wisp?" Cane instinctively glanced at his hands, thinking it appeared again, but there was nothing. It would ruin a lot of things if it appeared now under hundred to thousand people's eyes. Deep down, he had this believe; as long as he was with her, the dark wisp would never appear. "What do you mean a wisp?" 

"I… I was… he was… he touched me when I saw it…" Her tongue failed her when this disgusting feeling rushed in her mind when she tried to recall that moment, when she revived the moment, she wanted to forget. 

If it was not for that weird thing and feeling she felt upon seeing the wisp, she would have forced herself subconsciously to forget everything that happened to her, but that certain moment prevented her to do so. 

"What wisp did you see?" Seeing her reaction, Cane immediately knew which moment she was trying to talk about, thus he wanted her to focus on the wisp, instead of anything else. "You saw a wisp?"

Iris nodded. "The wisp was the color of grey, dark grey…"

"It's different from the wisp that came from me?"

"It's different."

Cane's jaw hardened. "Tell me more."

Iris tried to recollect her memories and only focus on the dark grey wisp. How the wisp formed into a wolf and how she felt when she saw the wisp, she felt this deep hatred and disgust and her instinct told her to kill it. 

She didn't know how to kill a smoke that was in the form of a wolf, but she did it instinctively. 

"… it caused pain to him." Iris balled her fists to hold her emotions back, until she could feel her nails embedded against her palms. "He was in pain."

Cane eyes dimmed slightly, as he watched how Iris was struggling to remember the detail of that horrendous moment, but at the same time he recalled alpha Gill's last moment. They tied him with silver chain to prevent him from shifting into his beast. 

But, what was about the dark grey wisp in the shape of wolf? Was that… was that even possible?

Cane put his hand on the back of her neck, massaged her nape to let her relax a little bit and then took her back to the direction of their carriage. 

"Where is Haco?" Cane ordered his beta to call the sorcerer earlier. 

"He is in the back of the entourage." Jace glanced at their intertwined fingers. He had called Haco, but because Cane had not yet called him personally, so he came along, but tried his best to hide himself from the alpha. 

It seemed, Cane's threat had shaken him so bad, since he had nowhere to go now and he was so afraid to be found cursing princess Osana, thus he relied on Cane heavily, thus even though he was afraid of him, he couldn't leave him. 

"Tell him to come inside the carriage," Cane said and helped Iris to enter their carriage, waiting for the sorcerer to come. There were a lot of things he wanted to confirm with him. 

It didn't feel right. The more Cane thought about it, the more he was sure there was something more about Iris. Now he doubted if she was really a runt, or she was not a shifter to begin with. 

On the other hand, alpha Dristan and Koda looked at each other to see Cane and Iris entered the carriage, but they didn't leave. They came here to discuss about this tunnel and the prospect of business in the future between their pack, since Chrystal Moon pack had the only harbor in the south. 

Cane would need an immense resource to get this job done and Red Claw pack was the richest pack in this continent, not to mention the two of them held the only two magic stone mines in this realm. The collaboration between them two would definitely shake the royal family, which would made even the king couldn't do anything reckless to their pack.

It would solidify the position of the crown prince from the Red Claw pack, giving the baby the strongest support, he could get. This alone would shut the noisy voices inside the court, who were still against them. 

The crown prince was indeed still a baby and had a long way to go before he could sit on the throne, but this also would give the king a reason to enjoy the king crown on his head a little bit longer. 

"What are they doing?" Alpha Dristan narrowed his eyes at the carriage. "Send someone to come closer and see if they could find something."

Koda nodded and went to get the order done. He glanced at the alpha for a brief moment and greed lit up in his eyes. 

One day, he would be the king's grandfather and he wouldn't accept any order from anyone anymore. 

Meanwhile, it took Haco a little bit longer to get his ass to the carriage, as he dragged his feet to meet with Cane. He had heard how Iris had woken up, which meant, he could keep his fingers attached, he also had seen her walking around and fine, but he still dreaded the threat from the alpha. He knew that Cane meant every word, he said at that moment and that was terrifying. 

"Took you so long," Cane said when Haco finally entered the carriage. This carriage was spacious enough to have six people inside and the decoration was very extravagant, since alpha Gill was really into luxury things. 

While Cane and Iris sat side by side, Haco sat in front of them.  1

"I am already very old, I can't walk so fast, my back is killing me, my vision is blurry. I am so weak now," Haco said pitifully.
