Is this normal?

Heaven sat quietly on the bed, arms crossed under her chest. She kept tilting her head from one side to the other, humming as she pondered about something.1

"Did he carry me?" She wondered, peeking down at the bed where she woke up to.

Last night, Heaven fell asleep in the middle of the movie. She ate a lot and was tired the entire day. However, she woke up in Dominic's bedroom. Although he wasn't on her side anymore, the scent and the fading warmth were still on the other side of the bed.

"Heh." The corner of her lips stretched. "Isn't my husband sweet?"

The mere thought of Dominic carrying her back to bed left this tingling sensation in her heart. At least he didn't carry her to her room but to his. It also meant Dominic didn't dislike sharing the bed with her.

Knock knock

In a great mood, Heaven turned her head in the door's direction. The door carefully opened, showing Miriam peeking her head in. As soon as Miriam saw Heaven was awake, she opened the door wider so she could fit in with the tray in her hands.

"Good morning, young madam," greeted Miriam, placing the tray on the side of the bed.

"Morning, Miriam!" Heaven smiled. "What time did Dom leave?"

"About an hour ago. He said to check on you and prepare you something to eat when you wake up." Miriam smiled warmly while Heaven glanced at the generous breakfast on the tray. "The master said he will be back before dinner."

Hearing this, Heaven's mood skyrocketed even more. "He should. Anyway, did he carry me back here?"

"Yes."

"How sweet." Heaven reached for the tray, but Miriam hurriedly did it for her.

"I'll do it for you, madam."

Heaven glanced at Miriam, nodding approvingly. She watched the latter set up the tray, licking her lips as her stomach grumbled. When Miriam was done, she stood on the side, watching Heaven pick up the spoon to eat the soup.

'Hmm?' Heaven's brows rose, gazing at Miriam. "Do you have something to say?"

Miriam shook her head. "I'm just not used to serving you in the master's bedroom. Normally, I'll serve you food in your bedroom. So, I'm not used to it — I don't mean it negatively. I'm just glad that you and the master are working on your marriage."

"Is that so?" Heaven rocked her head as her eyes fell on the soup. "You are glad… but not guilty for that night?"

Her eyelids drooped while her eyes slid to the corner, trying to see Miriam's reaction.

"Young Madam?" Miriam's brows rose, confused.

Heaven turned her head to face Miriam squarely. She scanned the latter for a moment before a smile turned up on her face.

"Haha! It's nothing, Miriam. I meant I had a nightmare a few nights ago. You promised to go to me when I needed you, but you didn't." Heaven lied, laughing. "It was just a childish grudge."

"Ohh…" Miriam pressed her lips into a thin line. "Is there a way to make you feel better?"

"Miriam, don't take me too seriously."

"But —"

"Dom sleeps with me now, so I have company." Heaven waved dismissively. "Anyway, thanks for bringing me food. I'll have breakfast now."

Miriam sighed quietly before she nodded. "If you need anything, you can call me anytime."

"Such diligence," humored Heaven.

With that being said, Miriam bowed and quietly left. Looking back, Heaven sent her off with a big smile. Miriam smiled back before shutting the door.

The second the door shut closed, the smile on Heaven's face faded. Her eyes sharpened as a layer of frost coated her countenance.

"It's not her, huh?" Heaven clicked her tongue, peeling her gaze from the door. "I was very sure it could be her. After all, whoever killed Heaven had slender arms and a petite wrist. What a shame."

Another sigh slipped past her nostrils. "If it was Miriam, I can put her in her place. It'll be easier to keep watch on her, but I guess I'm back to zero."

Heaven shook her head in dismay, telling herself not to let this matter affect her great mood. Surely, moving in discretion while keeping in mind violence was not the way to resolve things in this life was a challenge.

"In a few days, Basti will come home." Heaven gulped the soup, savoring its flavor. "I'm worried about that child's safety."

Heaven already secured Dominic's safety by staying in his room. It was a good thing Dominic didn't resist and was rather cooperative. She knew if someone snuck in this room in the middle of the night — just like what happened that night — she could do something.

Although it was obvious the target was Heaven, she couldn't take any risk.

"Should I sleep in his room?" she wondered while eating, mulling over the security of Sebastian. "Gosh. If I asked Dom to add security to the house, he'd ask me for a reason. I just can't lie and give nonsense excuses."

Heaven grew grumpier every passing second, racking her brain about what to do about this matter. She didn't even realize she ate everything.

"Right." After she finished everything, Heaven nodded as she came to a decision. "I should do that for now."

"Thanks, Miriam." Heaven smiled at Miriam, expressing her gratitude for her help. "It's embarrassing that I don't even know where my son's room at."

"Young Madam, don't worry. I understand your reason for it." Miriam slowly unlocked the door of the young master's bedroom.

Heaven stood behind Miriam, watching the latter open the door. When Miriam opened the door, she stepped aside.

"Should I help you inside?" Asked Miriam which Heaven immediately refused.

"It's okay. Don't worry. I just want to see Basti's room and stay here for a while. I prefer to be alone."

"Alright."

Heaven nodded while Miriam bowed before the former stepped into her son's room. Even before she could enter, she already had a glimpse of what the room would appear. However, her lips curved down as she stood a step after the open door.

'Is this normal?' She wondered, glancing over her shoulder to see if Miriam was still there. When she confirmed Miriam had left, Heaven closed the door and locked it.

"Is this a child's room?" She gasped aloud, looking around the minimalist interior. "This room is like the smaller version of Dominic's room!"
