Heaven had a few expectations from what she would see in Sebastian's room. Her son was only four, and since Dominic could afford any type of interior to suit a four-year-old boy, she expected to see things that would suit their son.2
A small version of his father's room never crossed her.
Heaven looked around and her lips parted, speechless.
"Wow…" she breathed out, letting out a short and dry laugh. "Just what is going on inside my husband's mind? Basti's bed should be a car bed and then the walls should be blue…"
Heaven went on and on with the theme she had in her mind. She held her head, having a slight headache in this boring room.
"Gosh. I'm not the one to talk, but this is really baffling." Heaven shook her head. "I'm not here for that. I can deal with this later."
When she recomposed herself, Heaven looked around once more. She checked every corner of the room, the bed, the drawers, and everything as if she was searching for something. Ten minutes later, Heaven stood in the middle of the room, pleased.
"It's clean." She nodded approvingly, hands on her hips. "No bugs or cameras. Meaning, this room is a little safe."
Heaven also checked Dominic's room to make sure he wasn't being watched or something while she moved her stuff. Knowing Dominic and Sebastian weren't being watched in their rooms was good enough for her.
She hasn't checked her previous room, though.
"Should I tell him to renovate this room?" she wondered, rubbing her chin mildly. "It'll be a problem if I planted devices in this room to monitor Basti, and others will find it."
Heaven kept pondering about it, assuming she would have a reason to keep Sebastian in their room if they renovate this room. But then again, she had to consider Sebastian's feelings about it.
"Anyway, it's a good thing nothing is in here. It'll be very scary if I found even one device planted here." She heaved a sigh of relief while patting her chest.
As someone who was part of the underground, she had seen the worst one could imagine. Even little children weren't safe or pardoned. Those in the underground NEVER thought of who would be affected. For them, lives were simply collateral damage.
Even a little kid wouldn't be safe.
It was a vile world she survived. Not that she was kind or had a pure soul, but she had compassion for children, for the innocent, and for those who were simply dragged into another person's problem. Just the thought Sebastian, her child, was being watched by someone she didn't know infuriate her. Good thing she was simply overthinking.
'I can conclude the target is solely me, huh?' Heaven sat on the edge of her son's bed, resting her leg over the other. She folded her arms under her chest, deep in thought.
"Heaven might be a neglectful wife and mother, but I highly doubt that is the only reason to kill her. No matter how I rack her memories, I can't think of anything that she had done to warrant her silence." For the past five years, Heaven only went out of this house a few times and all those occasions were family gatherings. "She doesn't hold any crucial information, nor did she witness something she shouldn't."
Her shoulders went up and down as she breathed heavily. "This is truly a strange case. If I didn't wake up in this body, I wonder what would happen if Miriam found Heaven's body the next morning?"
Would Dominic investigate her death? Or would they accept it as suicide? After all, Miriam immediately assumed Heaven planned to take her own life because of the pills scattered on the floor.
"Well…" A glint flickered across her eyes as her right brow arched. "If this person really had a strong motive to kill me, they'd know they failed. They will come back to finish the job… that's for sure. And when that happens, I'd get my answer."
Heaven glanced at the room once again and then rocked her head. She reclined, resting her hands on either side of her. She stretched her legs, getting relaxed in her stance.
"For now, I should do something." She couldn't just stay idle while waiting for her husband to come home. She needed progress, but at the moment, she still had no idea how.
"Right!" Heaven jumped out of the bed, rushing to the door to leave. But before she could close the door, she looked back inside the bedroom and frowned.
'Gosh…' She pressed her lips into a thin line, imagining how lonely her son had been in this room. '... not even a single toy.'
She shook her head and as soon as she closed the door behind her. Her eyes shone with determination and eagerness. She nodded to herself, telling herself she wouldn't allow Sebastian to feel so lonely anymore and for him to enjoy his childhood.
This would be a challenge, knowing the person who had ruined Sebastian's childhood was her. But hopefully, she could make up to him. No matter how long. Even if it would take years, Heaven was prepared to do everything to fix this life granted to her.

[LYON GROUP HEADQUARTERS: CONFERENCE ROOM]
"According to our data from last year…"
Dominic felt his phone vibrate against his chest. His brows knitted, glancing at the person presenting on the other end of the long table. He carefully slipped his hand inside his suit pocket, taking it out and checking the message under the table.
[From: Heaven
Are you serious????]
He tilted his head to the side, checking the photo his wife sent. It was Sebastian's schedule for the next months, and just like his schedule, Sebastian's schedule was packed with different types of lessons. Before he could even respond, Heaven sent another message. This time, there was no context but just a picture of Sebastian's schedule months ago.
Dominic could somehow, surprisingly enough, feel his wife's frustration. However, he didn't know why.
'So, she's really serious when she said she wanted to meddle in Basti's affairs, huh?' a subtle smile turned up on his face. 'Why is she sending me his schedule, though? Not that I am the person who made that schedule, neither I'm the person who enrolled our son in these lessons. It was Basti.'
