[Bonus chapter]You can’t carry me, but you can hold my hand!
"I am more than willing. Should we try it tonight?" 1
The gloom in Heaven's eyes disappeared without a trace, replaced with a beautiful twinkle. The corner of her lips stretched from ear to ear, leaning closer toward her husband. Just now, they were having a solemn and heartfelt talk, but in a snap of a finger, everything changed.
"So?" Mischief shone in her eyes as she tilted her head to the side. "What do you say?"
Dominic's eyes simply glossed over her face before he swiftly took her into his arms. Heaven's breath hitched, hooking her arms around his neck on instinct.
Was this the time she had been waiting for?
Before Heaven's imagination went wild, Dominic threw her on the bed. She bounced slightly, still hadn't recovered when a blanket landed over her. And before she knew it, he rolled her into the blanket until she looked like a giant caterpillar.
'Huh?' Heaven blinked, confused. Her brain momentarily malfunctioned, gazing at the person who lay beside her. "What are you doing?"
"Sleep." Dominic closed his eyes, sliding his arm under his head. "Let's fix this marriage when you're sober."
"I am sober."
"You said you had a few drinks." Dominic turned his head to her. His expression was plain. "So, sleep."
"But I'm really —"
"Heaven Liu, do you truly hate me that you cannot deal with me without the help of liquor?"
"What?"
"What I am saying is we should've learned our lesson that night. If you are truly sincere in having me as your lover, it is only proper to stay away from the things — the roots of why this marriage turned out the way it did," he explained in one breath as if he was trying to remind her of an awful memory. "Let's start correctly… this time around."
Heaven bit her inner lip, staring into his stunning, sharp eyes. Surely, Dominic had the most attractive eyes she had ever seen in her previous eyes and the current one.
"You mean… that night?" she blurted out under her breath, only to receive a shallow sigh from him. "Right."
Heaven pressed her lips into a thin line, understanding where he was coming from. Heaven and Dominic only did the deed once. Both of them were under the influence, barely remembering what happened that night. If they didn't wake up the next day in each other's arms, they wouldn't even know they had a crazy night.
Looking back, the original Heaven never drank anything with alcohol content. It terrified her. It wouldn't be surprising that Dominic was the same. That night had a result, and he was already four. No wonder Miriam had that aghast look on her face when Heaven had some wine.
'I'm going crazy for sure.'
Heaven turned her head to the side, eyes on Dominic's side profile. "Now that I think about it, you haven't had dinner."
"I already did."
"Don't lie."
Dominic opened his eyes ever so slowly, casting her a quick look. "How did you know I was lying?"
"Because you promised." She smacked her lips. "You said you'll come home at eight to have dinner. You've been doing that. I don't think you've already forgotten that."
"I'm full."
"When's the last time you had your meal?" Her inquiry was quick, as if she already anticipated such an answer. "Lunch time?"
His silence was enough to know his answer.
"I also hadn't had dinner. I was waiting for you. It was also the reason I only drank a bit of wine." Her voice was quiet, pressing her lips until her dimple was showing. "Should we eat?"
Dominic and Heaven stared at each other in silence. She sported a brief smile, raising her brows, hoping he wouldn't be stubborn.
"I'm hungry," she muttered, batting her eyelashes dramatically.
His lips parted but then shut closed once again. Dominic didn't speak as he pushed himself to sit upright. He looked back at her, only to see her looking at him helplessly.
Well, he was the one who rolled her in that blanket.
Dominic shook his head, flinging his legs out of the bed. He then walked over to the other side, pushing her body to unroll her. When Dominic freed Heaven of the blanket, she stretched her arms and feet.
"Come on." Dominic urged monotonously. "If you are so hungry, let's go."
"Help!" Heaven moved her hands in his direction, wiggling her fingers as if to tell him to pull her up.
"Heaven Liu."
"You said we will try." She clicked her tongue, almost pouting. "We won't know what works and not if we don't try things that a normal couple would do."
Dominic stop himself from rolling his eyes as he reached out for her hands. "Hold tight," was what he said before pulling her hand to sit her upright.
"Wow…" Heaven blinked as she held her head. "I suddenly felt dizzy."
'This is why I don't think you had a good idea.' He maintained his poker face. "Do you want me to carry you?"
"Do I want to? Yes. But I can't keep bothering you." Heaven smiled and winked. "Maybe next time?"
"..." Dominic pressed his lips before he huffed quietly. "Maybe."
Her brows rose, watching him turn around to leave. Hearing his last remarks, Heaven bit her bottom lip.
"Sometimes… he's really cute," she murmured before following him to the dining. "Hubby, wait~! You can't carry me, but you can hold my hand!"

Meanwhile, in the Zhu family vacation home. Maids formed a beeline in front of the mansion, bowing as soon as a red sports car turned up in the driveway. Getting out of such a flash vehicle was none other than the second young master of the Zhu family.
"Second young master." The head butler straightened his back, standing in front go Axel.
Axel glanced down. "Explain why you are standing in my way before I assume you're deliberately blocking it."
"Second young master." The butler smiled worriedly. "I'm sorry. The young master requested not to be disturbed."
"What?"
"If we let you take a step inside, all of us will lose our jobs."
