Wow. Such a boy scout
Despite her high position and status, Hera faced many assassination attempts. Even though the organization was mainly a group of the top assassins in the underground, many still aimed for her head. That was the underground. It was twisted and hellish; people had no fear, to the point it was foolish.0
Although most of the assassination attempts failed, there were those rare times they nearly succeeded in taking her head. Hera could remember all of those assassins because she recognized their talents and skills despite attempting to kill her.
But that wasn't the point.
Her point was that her life had been in danger countless times in the past. Therefore, she recognized the dread that crept up her spine almost immediately.
'Who and how?' Heaven's eyes drooped, tapping her finger against the armrest. 'If someone is here… then where is it?'
Heaven casually looked around, keeping an oblivious countenance to not alert anyone if someone was watching her. She only did it once, and she could tell that there was only one entry and exit here. That was the enclosed room leading to this outdoor space on the roof deck.
'It's possible that he or she left before I came here,' she thought, planting her hands on the armrest to push herself up. 'Or this person hid somewhere here.'
She marched toward the high railing, leaning her arms against it. As the night breeze kissed her face, Heaven maintained a sharp look.
'This reminds me of that time my mother told me to never turn my back on the night.' Heaven closed her eyes ever so slowly, breathing in the air as she felt this calmness within. 'However, to lure out the rat, one must leave the cheese unguarded.'
When she reopened her eyes, a murderous glint flickered across her eyes. 'Come now and get the cheese. Maybe push her over here since that was the easiest option.' Her eyes fell over the railings, only to see the pool on the ground.
Tak
Her body relaxed as soon as she heard a slight noise from behind her before sensing a person's presence. Despite the sharp look on her face, her heart was at peace. She was not scared, alarmed, or even thrilled. All there was was peacefulness and patience, waiting for the person to step foot in her vicinity.
Many things could happen.
It was not her first time to be in such a precarious situation. Heaven could turn around now to confirm who the person approaching was with such carefulness. However, that might lead to an unsightly confrontation.
If the person had a weapon such as a gun, this person could just shoot her. Although that was unlikely, since the sound it would make would garner attention. If he/she had a knife, then he might stab her even before she could react. In other words, turning around now despite sensing the approaching presence was not a smart move to make.
'Just a bit more…' she whispered to herself, preparing herself mentally, emotionally, and physically.
If the person stepped into her vicinity and she acted oblivious, then this person would slightly lower his guard. That was her opportunity to make a move. Heaven counted in her head as she felt the person come closer and closer.
One…
Two…
Three…
Four…
Another glint flashed in her eyes as her entire body relaxed, ready to move on her command. But just as her voice counted, "five," and she felt the person was two steps away, a soft gust of wind blew past her from behind.
"Did I dance to your tune?" Two large hands pressed against the railing, keeping her confined in between them. His chest pressed against her back as Dominic's breath caressed the shell of her ear. "Say, Heaven Liu. Was my guess correct? Is this your chosen place?"
The distance between them was close, but there was enough space for her to turn around.
'Gosh… I nearly broke his arm and smashed his head. Good thing I got a whiff of his scent.' Heaven breathed out, turning around to look at him.
The second she faced him, her lips were curled up. "And what if your guess is correct?" she returned coquettishly, snaking her arms over his shoulders and then wrapping them and hooking them around his nape.
"What took you so long, dear?" she inquired seductively, noticing he was already wearing a casual shirt. "I thought you gave up."
"Giving up is never in my vocabulary." Dominic slowly wrapped his arm around her lean waist, pulling her body closer to his body. "I went out to buy something."
"What is it that is so important Dominic Zhu has to buy it himself?" Heaven frowned. "I'm curious."
"What's there to be curious about? My wife kept testing my patience even right this second." Dominic slipped his hand inside his pocket, fishing out a small packet between his finger. "The least I can do for her is to use some sort of protection."
Heaven slowly veered her eyes to his fingers, only to see a packet of condoms between his fingers. Her jaw nearly hit the floor as she looked back at him.
Wow. Such a boy scout.
Dominic slowly slipped the condom on her hip, keeping it in the garner of her pajama. As he did, he bent over to whisper in her ear.
"Keep it for now." His hot breaths kissed her jaw, making her turn her head to face him. "You'll put it on later."
"You sly…" The rest of her words rolled back to her throat as he pressed his lips against hers. "Mhm!"
A moan escaped into his mouth, feeling his arm lift her by the waist. Heaven instinctively wrapped her legs around his waist while her back was pressed against the high railing.
"Hah…" her cheek burned, feeling his bulge in between the junction of her thigh. "Dom, wait —"
Heaven winced a little as he bit her bottom lip before trailing kisses to her jaw, down to the side of her neck. He moved his hips to make her feel him, but instead, he felt the soaking fabrics down there.
"Ah…" Almost drowned in the increasing heat, Heaven almost forgot about the sense of danger just moments ago until she caught the door through the transparent glass slowly closed.
'So, I wasn't wrong. Someone was, indeed, here just now.'
