[Bonus chapter]Pretty auntie
"Are you going to meet your friend?"
"Mhm." Heaven nodded at Sebastian, smiling. "But I'll meet her somewhere nearby, so I can pick you up in two hours."
She reached for his head, ruffling his hair gently. "Be good, alright?"
"Okay," he answered monotonously. "I'll go now."
"Mhm." Heaven maintained a wide smile, watching the driver assist Sebastian out of the vehicle. She followed his figure with her eyes, moving to where he sat to see her son being welcomed by some teacher at the entrance.
Heaven only thought of meeting Paula Shen to kill time, since Sebastian had to go to the learning center. She didn't want to sound like an irresponsible mother and ask him to skip his lesson.
"Right… that's another problem," she murmured to herself, sighing. "My son's schedule is only vacant this week, but then, his days were full of tutorials and lessons."
It almost slipped her mind, and to be honest, Heaven was undecided if she needed to do something about Sebastian's schedule. Well, if Dominic could tweak his schedule, maybe they could lessen the lessons their son was attending.
As Heaven planted her hand on the seat, she felt something underneath her palm. She gazed down, only to see the small lunchbox she made for Sebastian.
"He forgot it," she muttered, gazing up to see Sebastian still by the entrance of the establishment.
There were other people — children and parents or guardians — walking to the learning center. Seeing the scene outside, Heaven realized she should've gone out and walked her son to the entrance like a proper parent.
'Stupid me,' she clicked her tongue in irritation, but was more lenient to herself. This was a first for her. Therefore, she wasn't expecting she would be instantly a perfect mother and wife. She had so many things to learn.
Heaven quickly picked up the lunchbox and hitched outside. As soon as she stepped out, she caught the teacher holding Sebastian's hand and was about to enter the premises.
"Basti!" she yelled, hand on the side of her lips.
Sebastian furrowed his brows and looked back. The teacher beside him also looked back, only to see a woman standing in front of the vehicle where Sebastian came out from.
'Why did she go out?'wondered Sebastian as he watched his mother jog her way in his direction. 'There were people around.'
Most students who would come to this learning center would be dropped off by their parents. The parents would normally walk their kids up to the entrance. However, Sebastian was one among the few who would come here alone. Therefore, the teachers had given him extra attention. Dominic would sometimes make time, but Sebastian would rather not have him around. He didn't like the attention his father was getting, after all.
The point was, Sebastian didn't mind if Heaven hadn't come to his school. His mother was once the shiniest star. He believed she preferred to keep her personal life safe.
But why did his mother didn't look like that?
"You forgot this." Heaven squatted down in front of him, snapping him back to the current lapse.
Sebastian gazed down at the lunchbox in her hand. "Ah."
"Don't forget to eat, okay?" her lips stretched from ear to ear, fixing his hair and dusting off his clothes.
Heaven nodded at him encouragingly, handing him the lunchbox. When she pushed herself up, she flashed the teacher a smile.
"Please take care of Basti, teacher," she said politely.
The teacher smiled back and nodded, but the curiosity in her eyes was evident. "Yes, Ma'am. Don't worry about Sebastian."
"Mm. I know he is in good hands." Heaven gazed down at him, smiling. "I'll see you later."
"Okay." Sebastian nodded, waiting for her to leave, but she didn't.
"Let's go, Basti." The teacher tugged his hand, and then Heaven gestured for him to go inside.
"Oh… alright." Sebastian followed his teacher's lead, looking back at Heaven to see her waving.
The corner of his lips curled up into a subtle smile, looking ahead with a soft expression. This was the first time his mother dropped him off at his school. Back then, he could only watch children coming to the center while their parents waited for them to get in. He used to think terribly about the idea, thinking just how incompetent children his age were.
Who would have thought that now that it was happening to him, it didn't feel as stupid as he thought it was? It was a feeling he never knew he needed, and that put him in a great mood.1
"Basti, who is that?" the teacher's voice brought him back to reality, making him look up at her as they headed to his class.
"Who?"
"The pretty lady who dropped you off. Is that your auntie, by chance? It's the first time I've seen her," the teacher clarified. "She's very pretty."
"That's not my auntie." The plain look on his face returned, blinking innocently.
"Huh?" the teacher furrowed her brows. "Then, who was she?"
The Zhu Family was well known, so the teacher had a vague idea of the family tree. From her understanding, that woman could only be Sebastian's auntie, considering she seemed to be in her mid-twenties.
Or maybe she just didn't know the family tree that well — was what the teacher thought for a moment, thinking the said clan was quite private.
"She…" Sebastian peeled his eyes away from the teacher, smiling proudly ahead as he continued, "... she's my biological mom."
"Your what?"
Sebastian didn't repeat his answer, but maintained his proud smile. The answer he gave to the teacher brought this inexplicable feeling that swelled in his chest. Now, no one would tease him for not having a mother.
What a pleasant feeling to announce his relationship with Heaven, bringing up this bubbling confidence and excitement he never thought he had in him.

Meanwhile, Heaven stood outside the entrance even when Sebastian was out of sight.
"What a strange feeling," she mumbled. "I am proud, but at the same time, a little anxious. Is this normal?"
A deep exhale slipped past her nostrils, turning on her heel to go back to the vehicle. Maybe it was normal to feel this way. Considering Sebastian had a life of his own even before she woke up in Heaven's body, she told herself not to worry.
But alas, that thought immediately came crashing down just as she turned around to leave.
"Take care, okay? Don't let that kid bully you again — tell me if he did, I'll put him in his place…"
