109: Who is he?

Who is he?

"Everything is going great and if the weather continued to be like this, we will finish the construction on time. Maybe, earlier. Moreover, there hadn't been any shortage of supplies…"0

Dominic kept his eyes on the building with a few important people around him. His eyes studied the structure and the workers, pleased at what he was seeing.

In the middle of the site inspection, he felt his phone vibrate against his chest. 

Without looking away, he slid his hand inside his pocket suit. When he took it out and glanced at the screen, the side of his lips slightly curled up. 

It was his wife.

Baby! You can't believe what Paula did — I'm livid!]

Deep lines appeared between his brows, rereading his wife's message. Dominic was aware Heaven was meeting her 'friend' today. She seemed reluctant earlier, but she still met Paula.

'Did they fight?' he wondered, about to message her back when one of his partners spoke. 

"It depends on Mr. Zhu."

Dominic snapped his eyes up. "I'm sorry. I was not following. What did you say?"

"Oh. The engineers were proposing an alternative regarding the structure…" Another partner of this project explained it to Dominic, although they found it strange that Dominic got distracted. 

Everyone around Dominic had been working with him for years. Thus, they could safely say they already knew how Dominic worked. The CEO of the LYON Group might do something else, but he would always follow the discussion. 

"Ah." Dominic rocked his head in understanding. "I have seen the report. Though I haven't decided. Mr. Zhang will reach out to them as soon as possible."

"Alright. It's not really urgent. But Mr. Zhu —" the middle-aged businessman trailed off when Dominic immediately refocused on his phone. "About — ahem — the construction —"

"Take a quick break. I need to talk to someone." Dominic waved dismissively before casting them a quick look. "Excuse me."

He didn't wait for anyone to react as he walked into the distance with his phone secured in his hand. 

Seeing this, everyone was appalled. They looked at each other, confused. Take a break? What an alien word coming from the CEO's mouth. 

"Ah. Hehe." Dane laughed awkwardly as he sensed everyone's confusion. "Please do not mind, CEO Zhu. He had studied the constructions well, but was still in the middle of adding his input to the proposals sent to his office. Why don't we move on and take a short break?"

Dane politely coaxed the men to relax about the matter. It was only a site inspection of a new building for a subsidiary company under the LYON Group. No one raised concern nor thought much about it since Dominic had proven himself time and time again. 

Still, for everyone, it was strange. 

Break? Rest? 

Where did Dominic Zhu learn those words from? After working with him and for him for years, they were aware of how workaholic the CEO was. If one was incompetent enough, they wouldn't keep up with Dominic. 

As the men threw their puzzlement at the back of their heads and continued their discussion, Dane glanced in his boss's direction.

'He is on his phone again,'thought Dane, sighing. 'It's probably the young madam. I wonder what happened.'

Dane wasn't the only person who was worried about what happened at Heaven's side. Dominic was worried beyond words.

"Heaven, delete that video. It's not nice to be taking videos of others without consent." Paula's voice distracted Heaven, making the latter look up at her. 

"I won't post it." Heaven delayed her reply to Dominic as she refocused on the other two. 

"You don't have to go that far to keep evidence." Paula sighed. "I said I'm already sorry."

"Ehh… don't take it to the heart." Heaven chuckled, pretending not to know the reason her dearest friend wanted her to delete the video. "I was kidding when I said it's for evidence. I just thought capturing memories is good for my mental health. You know? It's been a while since I got to go out with my friends, so it's a nice memory to look back to."

"Miss Shen, you shouldn't worry that much." Leo backed up Heaven. "Heaven is just being playful."

'Playful? Hah!' Paula maintained a meek smile on the outside but was mentally glaring at Heaven. 'Well, she's dumb. What can she do about that video? It's not like it can cause anything.'

Thinking that the video would mean nothing much, Paula cleared her throat. "Whatever." She then faced Leo, sporting an apologetic look.

"I'm sorry, Senior Wu. I forgot to mention that I'd be meeting Heaven." She lowered her head to express her sincerity while Leo just waved. 

"It's alright, Miss Shen. Although we were both surprised, it's alright." Leo kept a friendly smile, shifting his eyes to Heaven, who was busy on her phone. "Right, Heaven?"

"Ah?" Heaven raised her eyes at them, confused. "Right, yes. Though you should tell us next time so we won't be surprised."

"Yes, yes. It's my fault this time." Paula chuckled. "Did you order? I'll treat you guys as a peace offering."

"Nice!" Heaven grinned, showing the two a thumbs up. "Before that — say cheese!"

Dominic frowned as he stared at the photo his wife sent. It was Paula and another man, looking a bit surprised as if they didn't expect to be photographed. 

"Who is he?" his frown deepened, focusing his attention on the man around the same table as his wife. 'He looked… familiar.'

There weren't many messages between Heaven and him before this photo. It was just the first message and then the second one, telling him Paula brought a colleague without mentioning it to Heaven. And then this photo.

'This man… he…' Dominic's brow arched as he tried to refresh his memory. 

If this was about business, he wouldn't have a hard time remembering. But this was about the entertainment circle which he knew nothing much about. At least, he didn't know every single individual in the entertainment industry.

Dominic replied when he couldn't recognize the man. When Heaven read his message, her face twitched a little.
