Finish the job

There were only two things that could've happened with this encounter if Heaven didn't confront Andrea. It was either Andrea would escape and resign or she would coordinate with whoever ordered her to do such a vile thing.  0

Heaven couldn't risk either of them. Allowing this maid to leave the mansion would push her back to square one. Who knew if the person behind this hired another person to finish the job?

"If I were you, I'd be quiet. Don't make me."

Andrea's breath hitched, holding her breath until her neck turned taut. She could feel the sharp edges of the broken bottle pressing against her pulse, aware that one wrong move, and she would end up dead.

'Ugh…'she winced as her eyes burned, but she still forced her eyes to open. Her vision was blurry, but she caught the pair of eyes hovering over her. She could feel the murderous intent cast upon her, making her gulp a mouthful.

"Ma — madam…" she whispered, blinking until she could bear the burning sensation in her eyes. As soon as her vision cleared, the veins in her eyes turned red. "Why are you doing this to me?"

"I am fulfilling a promise, that's all." Heaven's eyes drooped, assessing the woman's countenance. "Didn't I say I'll take care of you as well?"

Andrea winced, biting her inner bottom lip until it bled. Right now, Heaven's entire weight was pressed on her with her left foot stepping on her wrist while her hand was pinning Andrea's other hand over her head. Heaven held the tip of the broken bottle right in Andrea's jugular, having the maid locked in her position.

There was no way out.

Andrea could think of moves to turn the situation, but based on her experience, she didn't take the risk. Looking into Heaven's eyes, she couldn't help but gulp once again. That look in the madam's eyes screamed danger as if she was someone who had killed — slaughtered people in the past.

"Who are you?" Heaven asked, lifting Andrea's chin up with the curve part of the bottle.

Andrea's lips quivered as she answered quietly. "I told you my name, Madam. It's Andrea. Madam, please, don't — don't kill me. I didn't do anything wrong."

"Had done nothing wrong?" Heaven scoffed. "Do you think acting like this will help you?"

She tilted her head to the side, batting her eyelashes ever so tenderly. "Honey, there's only one way for you to leave this cellar alive. And that is being real. There's no need to play pretend."

Heaven wouldn't mistake it.

She wouldn't forget the size of Heaven's murderer's arm as the original Heaven struggled to the very end. The murderer's arm was petite and her skin was slightly rough. After grabbing Andrea's arm, Heaven was certain it felt the same arm as the one who had strangled her.

"Whose motherfucker wants my head, Andy?" Heaven didn't beat around the bush, dawdling her words.

Andrea's pitiful countenance slowly disappeared under Heaven's gaze, replaced by a layer of frost. "You got me," she smirked.

"Haha. That's more like it." Heaven raised her brows briefly, casting the woman a knowing look.

"I didn't think you will recognize me. I was careful."

"Well, I'd say you're not careful enough."

Andrea maintained a fierce countenance, assessing the face hovering over her.

"Who are you?" she asked under her breath. "You died that night. I wouldn't mistake it because I made sure you were dead. How come you're alive?"

"Is that what you think is important right now?"

"If you think I'd talk, then you're naive, madam." Andrea's smirk stretched as a sinister glint flickered across her eyes. "You will not get anything from me."

"Hah…"

"You can't kill me." Andrea lifted her chin, taunting. "I don't think you have enough plans after confronting me. How can you dispose of my body without being noticed? Have you ever thought about that?"

Watching the smile lines on Heaven's face, Andrea felt this surge of confidence. Heaven was a great actress and thus, she was probably acting. There was no way Heaven was capable of taking another person's life. The only reason Heaven managed to pin her down was because she caught Andrea off guard.

That was what Andrea believe — that was what she wanted to believe.

As for how Heaven was still alive after making sure she was dead, Andrea was certain she would find out. She probably made a mistake. After all, Andrea had a few drinks that night she snuck inside Heaven's room. It was the assistant chef's fault for making her try out a few drinks.

There was a moment of silence that descended in the wine cellar before Heaven burst out laughing. Deep lines instantly appeared between Andrea's brows, watching how Heaven snap to insanity.

"How can I dispose of your body without being noticed? Hahaha!" Heaven laughed as if she heard the greatest joke she ever heard. "That's cute."

Heaven lowered her head, biting her bottom lip to stop herself from grinning. "Do you think dragging your body is the only way to dispose of your corpse? Don't make me laugh. You and I know that no one aside from your employer will notice you've gone missing."

"If I wanted to, I would've killed you the moment I woke up that day," she continued. "But I didn't. Do you know why?"

Andrea's expression turned pale as she couldn't blink under Heaven's wicked gaze, sensing dread creeping up her spine.

"Because I was giving you the chance to run away," Heaven stressed her words for Andrea to understand her point. "You should've run away the day I woke up, but you didn't. You chose to stick around, watching my every movement, and perhaps wondering how come I am still alive after straggling me to death."

"Funny, though. After avoiding me for the past week, you suddenly showed up in front of me." Heaven narrowed her eyes, smirking. "Why? Did you come here to finish the job?"

The moment those words rolled out of Heaven's tongue, Andrea's eyes dilated. And that was enough for Heaven to confirm her guess.

Andrea followed Heaven into the mansion's underground wine cellar to finish the job. In other words, whether Heaven confronted her or pretended she didn't know, things would still end the same. The only difference would be their roles. Heaven would be the one underneath her killer.
