[Bonus chapter]She is

The bodyguards didn't get any answer on why Heaven acted crazy that night. All they got was Heaven ordering someone to burn it. It was a strange sight to behold, but everyone eventually got over it the next day.  1

Even Heaven, Dominic, and Sebastian went by on their days like usual. They spent their weekends with each other's company, eating out and visiting the nearest park. There were a few disturbances as Dominic needed to check on the person who sent him death threats, ensuring everything was going his way.

According to Dane Zhang, after a thorough investigation, it was proven that Mr. Tong was behind the death threat. The man didn't even deny it, screaming his deep hatred toward Dominic Zhu. Thus, that sealed the man's fate.

Even so, Dominic didn't lower the security because there was still something that was bugging him. Heaven's stalker. However, the family of three felt more at ease because the 'biggest' threat was already caught.

"Bye~" Heaven waved at her son, standing outside the school entrance.

"See you later, Mommy!" Sebastian wore an all smile, holding his teacher's hand while waving the other. "Bye-bye!"

Heaven's smile stretched wider, watching her son enter the school premises. A deep sigh escaped her nostril, turning on her heel to return to her vehicle.

"Are we heading to the set now, Madam?" asked Bear, opening the backseat door for her.

"No. My schedule for today was canceled," she answered as she bent over to get in. "Let's go home."

Bear said nothing as he bowed, closing the backseat before jogging his way to the driver's seats. It had been a few days since that incident with the Tong Family, and everyone seemed to have returned to their normal lives.

Bear sat in the driver's seat, driving home with Heaven in the back seat. He couldn't help but glanced at her, only to see her looking out of the window.

'She's been a bit silent,'he thought, setting his eyes back on the road. 'I wonder what's keeping her mind preoccupied?'

It was a bit new for Bear to get this partial silent treatment from Heaven. It wasn't like Heaven was ignoring him, but she had been especially quiet these days. The only time she was bubbly and energetic was when she was with her husband and son.

DING!

Heaven arched a brow as she heard a brief ping. She went through her purse, only to see a message from Paula.

[From: Paula Shen

Heaven, how have you been? I heard your schedule today was rescheduled for tomorrow. I also don't have any scenes today. Want to hang out?]

"Bullshit," mumbled Heaven, earning Bear's attention as the latter glanced at her through the rear mirror. "Hang out? Did she think I'd fall for her lame traps?"

"Madam." Heaven snapped her eyes up when Bear spoke. "Can't you just cut Miss Shen off?"

Bear pressed his lips into a thin line, biting his tongue upon realizing he was prying into her business when he shouldn't. But it was already too late. He already said what he had to say.

"My point is, I think you are wasting your time with her," he continued since he had already run his mouth. "You can do so much more if you cut her from your circle."

"What made you think I have a circle of friends?" Heaven let out a short and dry laugh, setting her eyes back to the window. "Moreover, there is a reason I can't just cut her off."

Her eyes narrowed until they appeared partially closed. "Paula is Heaven — my friend. She's like a sister to me, a family."

"But I don't think she sees you the same way."

"I know, but that doesn't matter. If there's anyone who should correct a family member, that should be me." Heaven rested her elbow against the window, resting her jaw on her palm. "Paula Shen hurts me in a way no one else did. That is why I can't just cut her off and let her go so easily."

"Would you be satisfied once she hit rock bottom? Would that make you happy?"

She took a deliberate pause, thinking about the original Heaven. "Self-satisfaction isn't what I seek, but justice."

This time, Bear went quiet. "You remind me of someone with that sentence."

"Hmm?"

"My previous employer once said the same thing." Bear kept his eyes on the road, smiling with slight bitterness swirling in his eyes.

Heaven bit her lips upon his remarks, aware that many of her remarks just oozed with Hera. She couldn't help it. The only difference about her now was this body, her family, and her life.

But Hera would always be Hera.

"I see. It seemed the general might understand me," she humored, pretending she knew nothing about what he was talking about.

"It's not the general."

"Oh…right. You worked for many influential people in the past." She rocked her head in understanding, adding a question to not raise any more suspicion from him. "So, who was this person who reminds you of me? I hope this person is worthy enough to be mentioned along with my name."

Bear chuckled at her last remarks. 'That is also something she would say.'

"She's the daughter of my previous boss, who eventually became my boss as well," he summarized in a light tone. "She's amazing in every way; wise, capable, and selfless. Although some of her actions were easily misunderstood, she is someone worthy of respect and devotion."

"However, no matter how perfect she was, she was still human," he added. This time, his tone had a tinge of longing. "She got sick and, unfortunately, that sickness triumphed."

"Ahh…" Heaven assessed his side profile from the backseat, detecting the bitterness and longing in the corner of his eyes. "Well, that's just life, don't you think?"

She looked away to avoid any 'unnecessary' feelings about his sentiments. "At least you got to witness how amazing she was."

"Indeed." Bear smiled, nodding in agreement. "I just hope that wherever she was, she's happy. She lived a painful life in this world, yet she endured everything until her last breath."

"She is…" Bear glanced at the mirror when she whispered, only to see her looking back at him with a smile. "I'm sure she is happy, Bear. More than she could ever fathom."

He took her words as words of encouragement and comfort. He slowly peeled his gaze from her, setting them on the road ahead.

"No doubt she is."
