[Bonus chapter]PTA meeting II

Dominic pulled up his sleeve to check his wristwatch. His lips curved down slightly, looking out of the window. He and Heaven agreed to meet outside the school since Dominic had to attend a meeting. Thus, he wasn't able to come together with her.

I'm outside Basti's school. Where are you? ]

Dominic immediately sent her a message, not minding the change of her contact name. Heaven often time changes her name on his phone whenever she felt like it. Their last conversation was about meeting outside the school, but he had been there for more than five minutes. 

"I wonder what happened?" he whispered, growing worried about his wife. "She isn't always late and when she is, she tells me."

"Sir, I think they're inviting the parents inside." Dane looked back at the back seat, only to see his worried boss. "Sir, are you alright?"

"Yes. I'm just worried that she's still not here."

Dane blinked. "Are you worried she won't come? Since this is her first PTA meeting, I'm sure the young madam is a little nervous."

"Do you think she won't come?" Dominic blurted out.

"Well —"

"Impossible." Dominic shoved his phone inside his suit pocket. "She wouldn't disappoint Basti. Let's go. I'll wait for her inside."

"Uh…" Dane cleared his throat, ignoring how his boss suddenly stopped him even before he could speak a sentence. 

What was the sense of asking him when Dominic would deny the question right after?

'I don't think I would get used to this new habit any sooner.'A sigh slipped past Dane's nostrils, hitching outside the front passenger seat. He dutifully opened the backseat door, standing on the side as Dominic stepped out.

"Tell Princess to inform her that we already went in." Dominic waved dismissively, gazing up at the establishment. 

"Yes, sir."

With that being said, Dominic marched inside the school premises. There were already parents outside the quad; some were going in, while others were idling to give way to others. Normally, Dominic would go straight inside. However, seeing the horde of parents, he chose to idle in the square. 

'She'll probably arrive soon,'he thought, looking back at the gates. 'I'll wait for her until then.'

"Mr. Zhu?"

Dominic snapped his brows up when he heard a woman's voice. When he turned his head to see who it was, faint lines appeared between his brows. 

"I am Stephen's mom." The woman smiled modestly at him, hand on her chest. "Do you remember Stephen? He was Basti's classmate since last year."

"It's nice to see you here." Dominic lowered his head slightly, greeting the woman. 

"Oh, Mr. Zhu." The woman chuckled slightly, glancing at the other women and men around her. "These were some parents in their class."

For some reason, the woman started introducing the parents that were with her as if she was truly close with Dominic. If this was in a different setting, Dane Zhang would pull out his tricks to get away from such a person. However, these were the parents of Sebastian's classmates. 

Dominic had to be polite. 

"Oh, Mr. Zhu. It is such a delight to see you here." One of the men in the circle laughed excitedly. "It is an honor to be your acquaintance."

The man offered his hand, only to retrieve it when Dominic simply glanced at it. "Ahh… hehe. Right."

"I'm pleased to meet you all, considering my son was your children's classmate. I hope our children get along well," said Dominic, keeping a polite tone.

"Of course, Mr. Zhu! My son said he was getting along well with the little master!" a woman gloated happily. "He even said they regularly eat snacks together!" 

"My daughter too! He said the little master often helped her with their activities. Such a genius child. Surely, the little master took a lot after Mr. Zhu."

Everyone sang praises about Sebastian and Dominic one after another while the latter kept quiet. It was not new for Dominic to listen to such flowery words to him, and Dominic had grown numb to it. The only reason he wasn't leaving was because he, too, was a parent. 

It was part of his duty as Sebastian's father. 

"Don't worry, Mr. Zhu. Our children are nice kids and really adored the little master. Unlike that child from the Tong Family." Suddenly, a woman thought it was a good idea to bring up that topic. "I mean, Madam Tong had always been arrogant, and she spoiled her son so much so!"

"I feel bad for Little Yun to have such parents."

"Goodness. I heard Mr. Tong was even arrested because of drug abuse."

"Oh, my! Please refrain from bringing up such topics on school grounds. We are adults, but this is still a place for our children. It's not nice to even talk about such despicable people."

The ladies buzzed, gossiping about the fallen Tong Family. Dominic glanced at the women.

'How amusing,' he thought. 'If I remember correctly, these women used to go out with Mrs. Tong a lot. But now, they were the first to bring her up and spew snide remarks.'

Yet Dominic didn't react to it. It was better if all of them knew what happened to the family who bullied his son. Dominic had a long patience and would let small things slide most of the time. It was better for them to grow aware of what could be their family's fate if they hurt his family. 

Dominic let out a shallow breath, glancing over his shoulder when he noticed Dane's presence. Seeing that his assistant returned, he faced the group of parents. But just before his lips could part to excuse himself, the lady who first approached him spoke. 

"Mr. Zhu, did you come alone this year again?" asked the woman with genuine curiosity in her eyes. "I heard a rumor that a woman had been picking up the little master and that she was your wife. I knew it was just a ridiculous rumor, but I thought you should know about it."

Dominic frowned at the woman's remarks as there was something about it that poked a nerve in him. However, before he could answer, he heard another woman speak. 

"Huh? Is that a celebrity?" 

The woman's murmur was loud enough for the group to hear. Curious, they turned their heads to where she was looking, only to see a woman prancing her way inside the quad.

When Dominic turned his head, he furrowed his brows. Dominic wasn't the only one who carried a strange reaction because Dane couldn't help but scrunch his nose up. 

'Huh?' Dane rubbed his eyes as the young madam of the Zhu Family looked quite flashy. 'What's with that thick fur?!'
