[Bonus chapter]Did you have a big sister?

"Basti, is your mom here?" a boy asked quietly, watching all the parents coming inside their classroom. "Is that your mom?"1

Sebastian turned his head to look at the door. "No."

"Oh. I thought she was your mom."

"Do you think my mom is that old?"

"Huh?" the boy looked at Sebastian, confused. "But she didn't look old. If anything, I think she was very young."

Sebastian looked at the lady once again, watching her sit in the parent's seat at the back of the classroom. This classmate of his was already wearing eyeglasses, but how could he not see that the lady they were talking about was quite old?

Or was it because his mother was actually very young?

'But don't adults get married in their early 20s?'wondered Sebastian, but then his face turned sour. 'Uncle Axel isn't married yet, despite being the same age as my mommy because no one wants him.'

Sebastian nodded, convinced at the conclusion in his head. He then shifted his attention to his classmate.

"How about you, Riley? Why are your parents not here yet?" he asked to shift the attention from him.

"They might not come. I told you." Riley sighed and then shrugged. "That's fine. My parents have been very busy."

Sebastian studied his classmate in silence. "Aren't you sad?" he asked out of pure curiosity.

"Huh? Why would I?"

"Because everyone's parents are here."

"Were you sad when your mommy was abroad?"

Sebastian went silent, reluctant to answer that. He didn't know where everyone got the idea that his mother lived abroad, but Sebastian didn't find the need to explain himself. After all, that was better than letting them know his mother was actually sick.

"Basti, you didn't look sad when it's just your dad who comes to family events," said the chubby boy with glasses named Riley, smiling. "Thinking that Basti didn't mind that, I told myself I should understand my parents and be like Basti."

But that wasn't the reason Sebastian didn't make a fuzz back then. Sebastian just didn't have a choice because, for him, it was better to pretend he didn't care instead of Heaven leaving him for being whiny or needy.

"Moreover, it's the first time my mommy and daddy wouldn't attend the parent-teacher meeting." Riley stayed optimistic, all smiles. "So, it's fine."

"You are too optimistic about it."

"I think that's why we are friends. Hehe."

'Since when?' wondered Sebastian, but didn't say anything out of politeness.

The parents entered the classroom one after another. Every time a parent would enter, a child would happily wave at them. In turn, the parents would wave back excitedly. It was a sight Sebastian had grown used to, and something he hadn't done.

After all, each time Dominic would attend to this sort of stuff, Sebastian and Dominic would just cast each other a look. Not that Sebastian was that excited to see his father. Sometimes, he wouldn't even look at the door, knowing his father never missed any school events.

'She probably won't come,' Sebastian thought, lowering his expectations to feel less hurt. 'Well, that's fine. Mommy is busy.'

Sebastian was already used to having his father attend the parent-teacher meeting. It changed nothing whether Heaven would come or she had something else to do. The agenda wasn't important, anyway.

As Sebastian busied himself with the notes on his desk, Riley kept his attention focused on the door. Noticing that Riley was staring at the door, Sebastian glanced at him.

'Look at him.'A sigh escaped Sebastian's tightly shut lips. 'He says he understands his parents, and it's fine, but he was waiting with such hope in his eyes.'

But weren't they the same?

A frown turned up on Sebastian's face at the thought. Although he didn't make it obvious, there was a part of his heart he wished for his mother to come. He never got a chance to introduce his mother to his classmates, after all. Also, he wanted to feel how his classmates felt whenever their parents would come in.

"Wow…" Riley's mouth dropped, eyes fixed on the door. "Basti, your dad is here."

"Ah…" Sebastian didn't bother checking his father. 'Of course he will come. Nothing new.'

"Wow…" Riley wowed once again. "Basti, I didn't know you have a big sister."

"Huh?"

"Or was that your aunt?"

Sebastian furrowed his brows, turning his head to look at the door. The second his eyes landed on the door, he held his breath.

"Baby~!" Heaven waved at him excitedly, grinning from ear to ear while his father stood beside her.

Without thinking, Sebastian raised his hand and waved. "Mommy!" the corner of his mouth stretched from ear to ear, earning the attention of some parents and his classmates.

Everyone darted their eyes from Sebastian's spot to the couple entering the room. They saw Heaven gesturing to her son, taking a seat where the teacher assisted the couple.

"Oh, gosh. Look at him." Heaven touched her cheek, watching her son sit down once again. "My son is so adorable. Is that his friend? No, actually, it's my first time entering his classroom."

Her mouth fell open, looking around. "Darling, is this really where Basti's classroom is?"

"Yes." Dominic let out a helpless chuckle, planting his palm on her chin to close her mouth. "Your son never wave at me, but it seemed he was very happy to see you here."

"Really?" she grinned. "Well, I'm his mommy. His favorite person in the world."

Heaven slowly peeled her gaze from him, setting them on her son's back. "I'm so glad I came."

Basti peeked at her once again, making her giggle.

"Me too." Dominic smiled subtly, etching the memory of how Sebastian waved excitedly at them. "I'm glad you came."

"It was worth the scolding from Director Guan." She humored as she had to listen to Director Guan's scolding through the phone on her way to school.

The production called her this morning to shoot her scene, but she canceled. She pretended to be sick, but Director Guan didn't buy it. So, she got scolded. It didn't matter, though.

No amount of money or scolding could ever buy Sebastian's priceless reaction. Though she didn't mention anything like that to Dominic until now.

"He scolded you?" he asked, side-eyeing her. Heaven was too distracted that she mindlessly said, "Yeah."

"Really?" Dominic rocked his head, folding his arms under his chest. "Okay."
