"Miss Liu, I know you might think that I'm slandering Miss Shen. But no, she's not your friend. At least she doesn't see you as one." The assistant felt her heart thud against her chest while her breathing skipped out of fear. "If you wake her up, she might hurt you too."

A shallow breath slipped past Heaven's nostrils. She let go of the knob, facing the assistant squarely. 

"Let me take a look," she said as she reached for the assistant's hand, pulling her sleeve up.

A thick layer of frost coated Heaven's face upon seeing more burn marks on the assistant's arm. It looked like a curling iron based on the burn marks that were yet to heal. 

"This is pretty recent," she muttered, looking up at the assistant. "Have you seen a doctor?"

"Uh…" the assistant lowered her head, feeling like she was shrinking under Heaven's gaze. "No, but Miss Shen gave me an ointment."

"Ointment?"

"I can't see the doctor because the manager thinks I might implicate Miss Shen," explained the assistant quietly. "I'm fine, Miss Liu. I just… I'm just worried about you since you've been nothing but kind to all of us here. So, I'm a little guilty of keeping quiet and even judging you before even meeting you."

"I don't really care what others think of me," Heaven sighed, covering the burnt marks with the assistant's sleeve. "Go to my room in the west wing and show it to my bodyguard. He was an old man in a black suit."

"But —"

"Take a day off, Assistant Lyn." Heaven cut her off even before she could argue. "Use this day to write up a resignation letter. If you do, I'll help you. However, if you don't take this first step, then calling a doctor for you is the only help I can do."

The assistant pressed her lips into a thin line, looking up at Heaven's pair of decisive eyes. 

"You have an entire day to think about it," added Heaven. "Now go and meet the old man. He'll call someone to take care of those wounds."

"Okay." Assistant Lyn lowered her head, replying in a muffled tone. "Thank you, Miss Liu."

Heaven stood by the door, watching assistant Lyn walk away from Paula's room. Another deep exhale slipped past her nose, lips closed. 

'Paula…'Heaven pinched the bridge of her nose. 'What the hell is she doing?'

Heaven turned around, reaching for the knob. She stepped inside the presidential suite quietly, but not carefully.

The presidential room was wider than the suite Paula had back then, having a receiving area, a small living area, and a few rooms inside. 

Heaven went straight to the master's bedroom, knowing Paula only wanted the best in everything. She wasn't wrong in going straight to the master's bedroom, because Paula was indeed inside, sleeping. 

'What is this smell?'Heaven covered her nose with the back of her hand the moment she opened the door. 

The windows and curtains were closed, making the room darker than it was supposed to be. The temperature was also oddly cold, making one feel lazy and cozy.

"Paula Shen," she whispered, leaving the door wide open as she marched straight to the window. "Paula, wake up!"

Heaven unhesitatingly pulled the curtains to the side, narrowing her eyes at the bright light outside. 

"Goodness. Did she think she was in her home?" she murmured, opening the window to have ventilation. 

When she turned around to see if Paula woke up from her loud voice and the light, she frowned. Paula was still sleeping, so Heaven went to turn off the air conditioning.

Perhaps Paula would wake up if the temperature rise. 

"Paula, wake up! Don't forget you have scenes to shoot!" Heaven dragged the chair near the bed, purposely making loud noises to wake her up. But alas, all of Heaven's attempts to wake up sleeping beauty failed. 

"I tried — whatever." Heaven plopped down on the chair, resting her leg over the other. She folded her arms underneath her chest, eyes on the princess sleeping on the bed. "Paula!"

Heaven tried to call her one last time but to no avail. 

'What's wrong with her?' she wondered to herself, arching a brow suspiciously. 

Suddenly, Heaven jumped from the chair to the bed. She immediately checked Paula's pulse, heaving a sigh of relief when she felt a beat. 

"For a second, I thought she was dead," she murmured, letting out another deep exhale.

Looking at Paula, she couldn't help but think of Paula's changes since meeting Primo. 

'She always had a short temper, but not to the point she would torture her staff,'she thought, recalling the burn marks on assistant Lyn. 'Back then, all they have to swallow was her bad temper and verbal attacks. But she is now harming them.'

Heaven kept her gaze on Paula until she caught something from the corner of her eyes. She turned her head and her eyes instantly fell on a teacup placed on the bedside table. Just then, she remembered assistant Lyn carrying some tea this morning. 

'She never liked teas,' thought Heaven, dragging herself away from the bed to check the teacup. 

Upon checking, there was still a small amount of tea that Paula left. Heaven glanced back at Paula before setting her attention back to the teacup. She picked it up, swirling it before guiding it to her nose. 

"Hmm?" she arched a brow, dipping her pinky before licking her finger. 

Motherfucker.

That was the first thought that came into her mind, looking back at Paula with nothing but coldness. 

"That confirms your trembling hands," she whispered. "This idiot… I bet she doesn't even know that the tea she was drinking had illegal drugs in them. And she's already hooked on it."

Heaven blinked ever so tenderly, putting the teacup back on the side table. 

'Actress Paula Shen getting high in the film production…'she looked back at her 'friend.' 'What a headline, Paula.'

Her eyes narrowed as the corner of her lips curled up. 'And what a golden opportunity for me.'
