It’s your life, so it’s your choice.

"Great work, Heaven!"1

Heaven smiled as she rose from her feet, receiving the small towel from the staff after taking an intense fight scene. Since they had stuntmen available, she didn't need to do all the extra work.

She watched everyone disperse to take a break, catching Director Guan getting occupied by talking to a few staffs.

"I guess I can call it a day." Heaven snapped her eyes to the side when Bear came from her side, offering her a bottle of water. "Thanks."

"Great work, Boss." Bear smiled. "Though it looked a little fake."

"Well, they are happy with the result, so..." A laugh escaped her lips, chugging down half of the water. "Have you sent assistant Lyn to the clinic?"

"No."

Heaven furrowed her brows, setting her eyes back to him. "No? Why?"

"She has a request," said Bear, without going around in circles. "She was quite stubborn, so I just called a doctor over to check on her. The lady is waiting for you in the west wing."

"Oh?" Heaven rocked her head. "That's quick."

"Quick?"

The side of her lips curled up into a grin, casting Bear a knowing look. "I'll wrap things up here and bid everyone farewell. You can wait for me in the west wing."

"Alright." Bear didn't pry, bowing before heading back to the west wing.

Meanwhile, Heaven went straight to Director Guan to bid him farewell. She also bid the rest farewell as a courtesy. As she did so, she caught another familiar figure from the corner of her eyes. Casting the person a look, Heaven caught Leo Wu looking in her direction while entering the set.

'Right... he also needs to shoot his scenes today.' She peeled her eyes off him, walking away from the set without any thoughts of idling even for a second. 'Good thing my schedule didn't match his today. I find him more troublesome to deal with since he looked like he would cry if I hurt his feelings even more.'

As much as possible, Heaven didn't want to hurt more people than she already had in her mind. Leo Wu was just a tragic person in this messed-up story, after all. He was better off without the current Heaven in his life. Things would be better if Leo Wu simply accepted that Heaven was no longer up in the market.

But alas...

Leo Wu still had hope despite that Heaven already drew a line. Thus, creating more distance was her way of avoiding such a stubborn fool. She would deal with him later since Heaven had more pressing matters to prioritize.

For instance, Paula's downfall.

Heaven greeted some familiar faces on her way to the west wing, keeping a friendly smile until she reached her destination. Bear was already in the hallway when she arrived, tipping his head toward the door on his side.

"I'll stay outside," said Bear as soon as she stepped into his vicinity. "This place is owned by someone you don't like."

"Thank you, Bear." Heaven smiled. "Really appreciate that."

"Don't worry. I already checked your room, so it's safe to talk about anything."

"Good job." Heaven didn't idle outside the room, entering it and closing it behind her.

Looking around the small suite she rented for herself, Heaven almost immediately saw Assistant Lyn on the couch. The latter had her head down, playing with her trembling fingers. It didn't seem Assistant Lyn was mentally present, flinching when Heaven's voice pierced the silent air.

"Have you decided, assistant Lyn?" Heaven arched a brow, watching assistant Lyn raise her head slowly. "You seemed a little out of it. My bodyguard told me you didn't want to go to the clinic because you want to talk to me."

Heaven ignored the nervousness of the woman across from her, sitting on the armchair languidly. "Had you written your resignation letter?"

"No."

"No?" she cocked her head to the side, intrigued. "And why is that?"

"Miss Liu." Assistant Lyn suddenly bit her bottom lip, eyes shining with hesitation. She clasped her hand on her lap, mustering every bit of courage to speak everything in her mind. "Is Miss Shen really that important to you?"

"Huh?"

"Please, Miss Liu." Assistant Lyn huffed helplessly. "I know you don't owe me anything and you have a right not to answer such a personal question. However... however, I don't know anymore."

She slowly hung her head low, hiding the equal mix of pain and rage in her eyes. "I worked for Miss Shen for almost five years now, so I am already used to her temperament. I know you told me to write my resignation letter, but I was worried I wouldn't be able to find a job that would pay me the same."

"So, you're telling me you'd put up with the abuse for money?"

"I have parents to support..." assistant Lyn clutched her lap tighter. "They're already old and, as such, they have to take maintenance. My paycheck right now gives me enough to sustain my parents' medical needs and other needs. I can't just make a big decision and affect them."

"I see." Heaven rocked her head, understanding her reason even though she mentally disagreed. Being in this body, Heaven has started or "tried" her best to understand the differences in people.

She didn't have the chance in her life back then because people's differences in the underground would always lead to something else.

"Very well. I already told you what I can do to help." Heaven shrugged indifferently. "It's your life, so it's your choice. I have no say in it."

"That… that's not what I'm saying." Assistant Lyn raised her head once again, gaining a bit of confidence. "It is true that I need money, but I cannot live this way. I never felt this anger in my life, asking myself just what did I do so wrong to deserve such cruel treatment."

"These burns…" she held her arm, keeping her eyes on Heaven. "... I got it just because there's a small crease in her clothes. I can take the verbal attacks and the belittling, but I cannot take all the beating over small things anymore. That is why I am asking if Miss Shen is important to you."

Assistant Lyn took a deep breath and huffed it, continuing before her determination wane. "I respect Miss Liu and I feel bad for judging you before. So, I wanted to tell you this before I exact my revenge on Miss Shen. Please distance yourself from her, Miss Liu. I'll bring her down."

'Oh… wow.'
