[Bonus chapter] Get divorced
Meanwhile…1
"Heh," Heaven smirked as she gazed at her phone. "I bet she's screaming her lungs out of irritation. I can't believe she still released those photos when Dom even joined us that day."
Just how foolish Paula Shen could be?
Heaven thought Paula already gave up on those pictures after setting her up with Leo Wu. After all, not only did Heaven take a photo of them and even had a recording, Dominic joined them that time! Who would have thought that Paula didn't give up the idea and simply waited for a chance?
'Even if I didn't have any evidence to defend myself and Dom didn't come that day, what makes her think Dominic will let such an article come out?' Heaven placed the phone on the desk attached to the vanity mirror. "If this isn't desperation, I don't know what is."
Leaning back against the chair, Heaven stared at her reflection in the mirror. The glam team in the production just finished her makeup and some prosthetics to make her appear wounded.
'It looks real,' she thought, touching the fake blood on her cheekbone. 'Heaven still looks beautiful, despite the wound on her face. Surely, these movies just don't know how to make things realistic. Wounds like this aren't these pretty… although it was pretty much close to a real one.'
Knock knock
While Heaven was admiring and criticizing the art of prosthetics, a knock suddenly came from outside the door. Her right brow arched, turning her head to see if Bear would come in.
No one did.
Knock knock.
"Who?" she wondered. "Is Bear not outside?"
Heaven pushed herself away from the seat, marching toward the door. When she opened it, the person standing outside was about to knock again, but stopped midway.
The moment their eyes met, a frown instantly turned up on her face.
"Senior Wu, what are you doing here?" she asked, keeping the door slightly closed as if she had no intention of inviting him in. "Also, where's Bear?"
She peeked her head out, looking around, only to see that Bear was nowhere to be found. Her frown deepened. Of course, she thought. If Bear was here, Leo wouldn't be able to approach the door or disturb her.
"If you're looking for your bodyguard, I think he helped some staff move some heavy stuff." Leo offered her a smile, watching Heaven set her attention back to him. "Heaven, can we talk?"
No.
Heaven bit her tongue, telling herself burning bridges without giving them a chance was a bad habit. Leo could still be useful if only he stop hoping on rekindling their romance.
"About?" she asked after a moment of pondering.
"About us."
'Here we go again.' Heaven mentally rolled her eyes as she stretched her neck in a circular motion one time.
"Senior Wu." When Heaven huffed, she snapped her eyes back to him. "There… is no us."
"That's not what I mean." Leo maintained a friendly smile, chuckling. "What I mean is, I want to talk about our relationship as co-workers and as friends."
Huh?
"I know you've been avoiding me since that time," he continued, pressing his lips, but still maintaining a forced smile. "What I said back then was foolish. I let my emotion get the better of me, and now, it's affecting both of us. I don't want to keep this tension or whatever you call it, since we're still working on the same project."
Leo took a deliberate pause to take a breath. "So, I decided to come here after a lot of thinking to talk about it and clarify things."
His brows rose, holding her gaze with a subtle smile. He shrugged after a minute of just staring, cocking his head to the side.
"So, can we talk??" he asked once again.
Heaven didn't answer immediately, weighing her options. There wasn't anything to talk about between them, to be honest. He pretty much told her what he wanted to say, but there was a part of her that wanted to listen.
Obviously, the original Heaven's feelings toward this guy were strong. Moreover, this guy was very harmless. Even if he tried to do something to her or confess his love, it was much better to turn him down and squash down all unnecessary hope lingering in his heart.
"Fine." Heaven huffed, pushing the door wide open while she peeled her side away from the jamb. "Come in. Though, I'm warning you. Don't try anything funny, or I'll really be angry."
"Haha. I promise you, I won't."
Heaven just rolled her eyes, letting him in without any thoughts in mind. She dragged her feet inside while Leo kept a few steps distance from her.
"Nice room," he remarks, looking around the suite. "Did Director Guan give this room to you?"
"Nope. I'm an extra. Extras don't get special treatment." Heaven turned around, facing him squarely. She crossed her arms underneath her chest, sporting a knowing look. "My husband booked this room for me, so I don't need to share."
"Oh…" Leo rocked his head, trying to ignore the keyword "husband."
"Yep." She nodded before looking around the suite. "It's not much, to be honest. Not even the special room."
"Right?" Leo smiled. "Your husband is so rich, but he can't even book a proper room for his wife."
Heaven narrowed her eyes. "Senior Wu," she called, shaking her head mildly.
"Sorry." He raised his hands as a gesture of surrender. "It's just that I can't help it. Dominic Zhu can rent this entire private resort, but he only booked a standard room for his wife."
This time, all the remaining kindness and warmth that was on her face dimmed. If it was Dominic, he would surely rent this entire resort for her. But Heaven chose the cheapest room to save money, knowing the resort was owned by a perverted psychopath.
"Leo Wu." Her voice was plain and cold, staring at him icily. "Didn't you say you want to talk about things and clarify everything? So far, all I'm hearing is you indirectly attacking my husband."
"Heaven." Leo let out a deep exhale, taking two large steps until he was standing before her. His chest moved in and out heavily, staring straight into her eyes as he said, "Get divorced."
