Heaven had never been so bewildered in her life with just two words. It was so ridiculously idiotic that she somehow doubted her ears. 

Was she hearing things?

"Heaven." Heaven flinched when Leo suddenly grabbed her biceps, holding her still with his eyes blazing with determination. "I know what I said sounds crazy, but I don't know what to do anymore."

His grip around her biceps tightened as pain dominated his face. "Dominic Zhu is a powerful man, and I know he is not someone to offend. However... I can't sleep at night thinking how you were suffering every single day."

"If you don't love me anymore, that's fine. I understand," he continued under his breath, carrying the sincerest look plastered on his face. "But let me help you."

For a while, Heaven could only look at him, speechless. She listened to everything he had spewed, repeating it in her head just to make sense of it. However, no matter which angle she looked, it was so ridiculous she was flabbergasted!

Here she thought Paula Shen was already foolish, but Leo's foolishness somehow exceeded her expectations. 

"Help me?" she breathed out after a moment of silence. "Oh, god. Who said I need help?"

"Heaven, I already know —"

"What exactly did Paula tell you for you to say you already know everything you need to know?" Heaven stopped him mid-sentence, assuming that was what he wanted to say. "Senior Wu, wasn't I clear last time? Do not cross the line, but it seemed you don't have any regard for any of my wishes and only listen to others."

Heaven raised her arms, brushing his hand away from her biceps. "I don't need help, Senior Wu. Whatever Paula told you is a lie."

There was a moment of silence between them as they looked at each other. Heaven kept secretly biting her tongue, telling herself to hold back and keep the damage to a minimum. Leo might be foolish, but he was, overall, a good person. It was only a shame Paula manipulated this man, using his deep feelings for Heaven to make ridiculous assumptions and say foolish stuff.

"And here I thought you're here to clarify things as colleagues." Heaven huffed, breaking the building silence between them. "If I know this would be another ridiculous drama, I would've ignored your knocking."

"Heaven."

"Leo Wu." Her tone sounded firmer, accepting that she should be firmer this time. 

If he ignored her the last time, then reducing damages only proved ineffective. Leo Wu needed to be slapped by the truth. Otherwise, he wouldn't stop and would just convince himself with the lie Paula told her. 

"I am a married woman. I might not wear a ring, but there is this invisible red line that connects me with my husband even if he passes through the pearly gates of heaven. We have a son together and I am in the happiest state of my life," Heaven stressed each of her words, speaking from the bottom of her heart. "I know we had a past and I'm sorry for just leaving you hanging. I know I hurt you more than I could imagine or understand, but if you really love me, let me go. Let me be happy, Leo."

She took a deep breath, calming herself down. "I would've done the same if you also found someone else to make you happy, content, and grateful for existing. So please, stop this nonsense now. I don't mind working with you as a colleague, but us? No. There's no us. There was never us and there will never be us."

"People change, Leo. It's been five years. Please, move on," she added sincerely, hoping these words would wake him up. "Free yourself from this love. It'll never happen."

Her eyes twinkled with sorry, feeling bad for this poor, innocent guy. After all, the original Heaven loved him and she knew Leo's intention for the original Heaven was pure. However, the person inside this body wasn't Heaven Liu and the person this soul loved madly was not Leo Wu. It was Dominic Zhu and Sebastian Zhu. 

"Please." Heaven breathed out. "Stop now."

Silence descended on the suite as the two of them stared at each other with countless unspoken words in their eyes. She could see the pain in his eyes and how he was suffering right now, but she knew she couldn't do anything. No matter what she would say would hurt him. It was better to be firm now so he wouldn't be hurt in the future over the same thing. 

"I hope this time, it's clear that I don't need any help or saving. I'm no damsel in distress, and I don't need a knight in shining armor." She expressed after another minute of pure silence. "I'll go rehearse."

Heaven walked back to pick up her phone and the script on the vanity mirror. But just as her fingertips brushed the script, Leo murmured. 

"You don't need saving?" Leo let out a scoff, eyes down. "Heaven, I know Dominic Zhu... the Zhu Family were powerful. I know you're scared of them."

Hearing his quiet remarks, Heaven couldn't help but sigh. 

'Seriously...' she closed her eyes, pinching the bridge of her nose in distress. 'Is he a numbskull or what? Does he need a beating before he listens to me? Oh, god. Just what would it take to stop him?!'

The more Leo stayed stubborn, the faster her rope of patience burned. 

Meanwhile, Leo slowly raised his head. His eyes landed on her back, clenching his hand into a tight fist. Before coming here, Leo already made a lot of thinking. Their last encounter didn't end well, and despite everything she had said last time and now, he just couldn't bring himself to believe it. 

How could he?

"I don't believe you, Heaven," he remarked quietly, but his voice was clear and loud enough to reach her. "Do you know why?"

Leo took a deliberate pause, swallowing down the lump that had formed in his throat. "I don't believe that you fell in love with your rapist."
