HONKKKKK!0
"Hey!!!" the man on the passenger seat hollered as an initial reaction, eyes dilating at the crazy woman from Axel's car. Just now, Heaven reached out to the driver's seat and grabbed the driver's hair, slamming his head against the steering wheel.
Everything happened so fast that neither the driver nor the passenger could react quickly. The driver didn't even know what was going on until an excruciating pain struck his nose.
"Ugh!!!" the driver instinctively turned the steering wheel on instinct, widening the distance between Axel's car.
HOOOONK!
Despite turning the wheel away from Axel's — where half of Heaven's body was — Heaven held on to the driver and slammed his face against the steering wheel for the second time. She did it again the third time, while the distance between their cars lessened as Axel also turned, keeping them close.
"Sis!!!" Heaven could hear Axel's yelling from behind, but it was nothing compared to the yelling of the other man in the passenger seat.
"Hey! What the!! Are you crazy!?" the man instinctively held on to the steering wheel as the driver felt groggy from the pain in his nose. His eyes were shaking, looking at the crazy woman sneering at him.
Seeing Heaven's devious smirk, the man confirmed that she was, indeed, crazy.
"Uh…" the driver felt his vision shake as the striking pain in his nose slithered to his brain, leaving him a little groggy.
"You little bitch…" the passenger ground his teeth before looking at the road ahead.
He could grab Heaven and maybe drag her in to beat her up. However, they were in the middle of the road with such intense speed. The driver was groggy after what happened and the most foolish thing he could do was unbuckle his seat.
"Get the fuck away…!" the man ground his teeth, glaring daggers at her. "... I said, GO AWAY!"
The man raised his other fist and threw it in her direction. Much to his dismay, Heaven pulled up the driver and used him as a shield from the incoming punch. The man's fist landed straight on the driver's cheek, making the former flinch in surprise.
"Tsk tsk tsk." Heaven clicked her tongue continuously as she let go of the unconscious driver, eyes on the passenger. "That's not nice. You shouldn't punch your friend like that."
Heaven pushed herself away from the other car, crawling back to Axel's car upon making sure the driver passed out. As soon as Heaven sat back in the passenger seat, she turned her head to Axel. His expression was indescribable, keeping his eyes on the road.
"Sis!" Axel was panting, turning the steering wheel to create distance from the other car. He didn't speak for a moment, shifting gears to pick up his speed, driving even faster from the other car.
The ones that Heaven went to already moved away, giving Axel more freedom to create distance from the other car on his side. His only problem before was that he was being sandwiched, but now that the other car drove off the track, it was easier to create distance from the other.
Glancing at the rear mirror and seeing that he had made quite a safe distance from the other car, Axel huffed.
"Sis, what did you do?!" he cast her a quick look but then set his eyes back on the road almost immediately. "How did you — I mean —"
"Just keep driving." Heaven glanced at the side mirror with eyes glinting. Their distance from the other car was growing, but that was because the latter slowed down. She couldn't see the other car as well.
"Sis!" Axel hollered. "Do you know how dangerous that was?! Do you think you're filming an action movie?! If I didn't instinctively move closer, you could've fallen!"
"But I didn't." Heaven shrugged, cocking her head at him. "Thanks to you."
"But what if I didn't?!"
"I trust that you would," she answered, making him look at her for a moment.
When Axel's eyes fell on her, his breath hitched upon seeing the slight smile that turned up on her face. How could she smile like this in such a situation?
"How can you trust me with your life?" he blurted out under his breath, undecided which emotion was dominant at this very second. "So, what now? Just what did you do to those guys, huh? Did you just move the steering wheel and forced them away?"
Axel didn't see what she did because her bottom was blocking his view. All he knew was there was a lot of honking, assuming she tried snatching control over the steering wheel to force the other car to give way. Although this assumption was full of holes, he couldn't think of anything else.
Heaven chuckled at how innocent her brother-in-law could be. "I broke his nose by slamming his face against the steering wheel."
"What?!" Axel gasped, casting her another look. "You did what?!"
"Do I really have to repeat everything I say?" Heaven leaned back comfortably, eyes on the side mirror. "I slammed his head against the steering wheel until his nose broke and bled."
"..."
What the hell?
There was a portion of Axel's heart that wanted to doubt her words. However, by the tone of her voice and the confidence it exuded, he couldn't help but believe it. And that rendered him speechless.
"Hah…" Axel could only let out a short breath, feeling his trembling soothe slightly, which baffled him as well. Why was his body calming when he should be more terrified now?
"Sis," he called and then blurted out his next words, "Were you a thug before?"
"Huh?"
"Nevermind." Axel shook his head upon realizing how ridiculous his inquiry was.
Heaven chuckled, making sure that the car following them was out of sight. "I am not a rogue or anything like that in the past," she lied, although technically, Heaven Liu wasn't part of anything like that.
"However, they touched my brother," she continued solemnly, eyes fixed on the side mirror. "So they will have a piece of me. Turn back."
"What?" Axel didn't even have time to feel moved by her remarks because of her last sentence.
She peeled her eyes from the side mirror to the driver's seat. "I said, turn back."
"I heard you, but why?! I know a route we can take to return to the track!"
"Axel, winning is not our task." Heaven kept her eyes on his panicking side profile. "Turn back because I'm not done yet."
"What?" Axel darted his eyes between her and the road. "You're not done yet?"
"Cutting the weed won't make it go away. We have to pluck out its roots."
Axel clenched his teeth, still unable to understand what was going on inside her mind. However, since he already put trust in her and things already happened, Axel might as well go all the way. Thus, despite his reluctance, he made a turn, drifting, producing a loud screech.
