[Bonus chapter]Saved from the inevitable destruction

When Heaven came to know about the existence of the recording and had a glimpse of what it was, she knew deep in her heart she would kill them. She couldn't allow these people to live for what they had done to Axel.  2

No mercy.

Just like those old, dark days.

No one else aside from her could touch her family.

"... so I don't have to hear your buzzing ever again."

The man held his breath as soon as he felt the cold metal pressing against his forehead. He didn't even blink, staring straight into those pair of apathetic eyes. Looking into her eyes that displayed how insignificant his life was for her, the man felt this invisible boulder fall onto his shoulder.

"Huh?" Heaven arched a brow, lowering her gaze to the man's knees. "You peed yourself."

When she snapped her eyes up, she added. "Pathetic."

Heaven didn't smirk or show the slightest ridicule. She didn't care even if he shit himself. He would release all of those once she put a hole in his head, anyway.

"You take a better look at this face and tell Satan to beware," she warned, caressing the trigger with her finger.

"Please…" the man blurted out in a jagged breath. "... I'm sorry. I know I'm a terrible human being, but I'll change! Just please… give me a chance to do that."

Heaven stared at his face. "No," she said emotionlessly, about to pull the trigger when Axel's voice came from the side.

"Sis!" Axel panted for air. He didn't run a long way, but he got so shocked his heart was racing.

"Second young master Zhu!" Hearing Axel's voice and successfully stopping this mad woman, the man with an orange mohawk slid his eyes to the corner. "Please, help me! I'm sorry for what I have done to you! Just please… give me one more chance to live! I don't want to die here!"

Axel shifted his shaky eyes at the man. His neck turned taut upon noticing the man had peed himself out of fear, but Heaven was unfazed.

"Sis…" he moved his dilated eyes to Heaven's side profile. "... please, stop this now."

Heaven didn't look at him as she kept her focus on the man. "Not ending him right now is a risk. Do you know that?"

"Huh?"

"Waiting, hesitating… always ends terribly," she continued quietly, recalling her time in the underworld.

Hera's life was never easy. A moment of hesitation had taken many people's lives in her life. Therefore, she learned never to hesitate or let anyone stop her. This was the second time she stopped from taking a person's life.

The first one was that kid's mother who bullied Sebastian.

"These people never change, Axel," she whispered, taking herself as an example. "No matter how they try, a leopard never changes its spot."

Axel's breath hitched at her remarks. That phrase was his constant reminder about Heaven. However, hearing her say those didn't make him feel good. If anything, he felt this indescribable pang straight in his heart.

"Go back inside and leave. I'll handle everything," Heaven advised, watching the man look back at her. "Call Bear for me. His help will be very appreciated."

"Sis…"

"Axel." Heaven drew a deep breath. "Don't make me do it in front of you."

Axel balled his hand into a tight fist, eyes on her side profile. He couldn't tell whether this was an act or what, but he was certain that the gun was loaded. Even if she didn't mean it, if she accidentally pulled the trigger, it was over.

Taking a lifetime of courage, Axel took a step forward. He clenched his teeth while his steps faltered, a bit scared of Heaven.

"Get away, Axel." Her voice reached his ear when he was three steps from her. "There is no room for forgiveness here."

"I don't forgive them," Axel breathed out deeply. "If there is someone in the world whom I will never forgive, that would be them. I wanted to kill them more than anyone. I even pray that if they can just drop dead or get tangled in an accident — I hate them deep in my bones, sis."

Axel took another careful step, stretching his arm and wrapping his hands around the pistol. "What they did to me will forever stay in my head, but… I will never forgive myself if you become a murderer because of me."

"Don't let them take one more thing from me. Don't let them take my sister from me." His grip around her hand and pistol tightened as a layer of tears coated his eyes. "Please… don't kill him."

Heaven's jaw tightened before she huffed deeply, peeling her eyes from the man to Axel. The moment their eyes met, a tear rolled down his cheeks.

'Did he think killing this man will make me a murderer?'she wondered, seeing how pathetic he looked right now. 'I don't need to kill him to warrant a ticket in hell. I've collected enough tickets for a VIP seat.'

Still staring at Axel melted away the thick ice covering her heart.

"Please?" Axel begged in a muffled voice. "Please let him go."

There was a moment of silence between the two of them, eyes locked with each other. Meanwhile, the man at gunpoint silently prayed she would listen to Axel.

"Fine." Not only Axel but also the man with a mohawk heaved a sigh of relief. "Let go."

Heaven pulled the gun from the man's head when Axel let her hand go. She gazed down at the man, immediately catching the relief on his face.

"You are lucky my little brother is merciful. However, don't ever dare show even your shadow in front of me. If I ever see you again, I won't be lenient anymore," she warned while disassembling the pistol. When she finished, she dropped the pasts of the weapon and added, "Now, get up and pick up your friends. Get them all inside the car."

"What?" Both Axel and the man looked at her, puzzled.

Heaven breathed in. "Do I really have to repeat myself?"

"No, ma'am!" the man in the mohawk jumped up, only to wobble back as his knees felt as soft as tofu. However, he still dragged himself up. "Which car should I carry them?"

"The one we're using," she said dismissively. "Don't worry. I won't drive you somewhere to dump you. Those guys will die if they weren't rushed to the hospital within an hour."

The man with a mohawk looked at Heaven with wide eyes. However, he didn't dare to ask questions as he rushed to his friends, carrying their unconscious bodies one by one to the car Axel used to race.

As the man cleaned up the mess for her, Axel just glanced at his sister. A slight smile of relief turned up on his face while Heaven walked away, destroying the phone and the memory chip inside.

The man believed he was saved, but to be truthful, it wasn't them who was saved tonight.

It was Axel.
