Another day in the set

The days went by in a blur as Heaven spent most of her day with Sebastian and Axel. Axel would only go home after dinner, so Sebastian thought of many ways to give something to his uncle to occupy his time. In the night, Dominic would stick with her like glue.  2

Her days were rather normal, menial, but peaceful. All the worries she had the previous days slowly vanished with her family's company. The only concern she had was Bear.

That man hadn't returned even after a week.

Heaven asked Dominic about him once or twice, only to get that something came up on Bear's end. Thus, he requested an extension of his vacation leave. Dominic was generous and understanding enough to agree. She didn't ask after that, keeping her growing worry to herself so as not to worry Dominic.

And just like that, Heaven received another call from the set to shoot her scenes.

"CUT!!!" Director Guan's voice through the microphone sounded annoyed. "Heaven, what are you doing?!"

Director Guan ruffled his hair in irritation, watching Heaven on the monitor screen. Right now, they were shooting a scene where she had to stab someone. However, she kept messing things up. For instance, she would frown right after slitting the man's throat or simply stop midway. Thus, they had to do it over and over.

Just what was wrong with her?!

"Ughh! Let's take a ten-minute break! Heaven, come here!" Director Guan spoke through the microphone, jumping out of his chair.

Meanwhile, Heaven sighed. She looked around as everyone dispersed to take a break. It was obvious everyone was already tired even before taking her scenes. She was aware of the draining environment since filming had been nonstop.

"Heaven." Heaven snapped her eyes up, shifting her eyes to the person approaching her.

Leo Wu.

"Is there something wrong?" he asked as soon as he stepped into her vicinity. "You seemed a bit distracted, and I'm a bit worried."

Leo handed her a bottle of water, which she accepted with a short, "thanks."

"Heaven!" Just as she was opening the lid of the bottle, Director Guan reached her. "Why are you being like this?! Your scenes the first time were all good, but I can't understand what's wrong with you this time!"

Heaven pressed her lips into a thin line, forgetting to drink the bottle of water. She sighed at the sight of Director Guan.

It was true her acting the first time she came into the set was phenomenal. The reason they kept retaking the scene was because of Leo Wu. It was the reason Leo got a good scolding from Director Guan. They were expecting the scenes she would do now would be easy, but Heaven seemed reluctant the moment she heard about the change in the script.

"What? Is there something wrong? Are you uncomfortable with something?" Direction Guan inquired in frustration as she was just quiet.

"Heaven." This time, Leo looked at her with worry. "Are you okay?"

"Yes." Heaven forced a smile at Leo before facing the director squarely. "Director, that guy I'm about to slit a throat with is distracting me."

"What?"

She sighed deeply, tapping the side of her neck. "He shouldn't be making that sound once I stab him in the neck. That's not how it sounds once you stab someone in the neck."

"My point here is, it is not realistic." Heaven smacked her lips, looking a little conflicted at her dilemma. "If I'm going to slit his throat or stab his neck, he shouldn't be so loud about it. He only need to gasp for air one last time and then pressed his hand against it on instinct since he was a skilled mercenary. That should be his instinct before falling out of consciousness."

"..." Leo and Director Guan looked at her, speechless.

That was her dilemma? Because the extra wasn't acting 'realistically?'

Hearing Heaven speak about her dilemma and the very reason she kept messing up the scene somehow gave both men goosebumps. This was the very first time both of them heard such reasoning and even suggestions as if she had experience in doing such a thing.

"Heaven…" Leo furrowed his brows slightly. "... did you do your research? The scenes were just changed just last night. How did you…?"

Heaven bit her tongue upon realization. 'Right. They changed the scene, and I only heard about it today.'

"Well, I read some articles while waiting for my scenes?" she shrugged and smiled, raising her brows as she faced Director Guan. "I'm sorry, Director Guan. I just thought it would be better if everything will look realistic, even to the smallest details."

Director Guan snapped out of his trance. "Uh… that's okay." His mood immediately shifted as his lips stretched into a grin.

"Is that really just the problem? If so, then we can fix it right away!" Director Guan clapped, a bit optimistic as he deemed her reasoning and suggestion as a part of her professionalism in the film. Heaven was an award-winning actress. Therefore, he didn't want to question anything else and took her excuse at face value.

Heaven was just professional and passionate in her field.

"Yes, Director Guan. And also…" Heaven walked closer to Director Guan to discuss further details about the scene. "Since I have short screen time but relevant ones, I think it'll give more impact on the overall film if we tweak a few of them."

"Ohh… that's not bad. Actually, I was thinking about it…"

As Heaven and Director Guan discussed her scenes, Leo, who came first to her, felt a bit left out. Yet, despite the unpleasant feeling, a soft smile dominated his face.

'She's always like that,' he thought, thinking that Heaven was different in the set, especially if it was a solo scene. 'I'm just glad she's doing her best.'

His eyes softened with affection, admitting to himself he was glad to see her in the set. After all, the filming had been a bit… torturous with all the dramas going on that no one was talking about.

Little did he know, the "drama" he was thinking of was just right in the corner.

Paula Shen.

"Tsk." Paula had her arms folded under her chest, clicking her tongue in irritation as she watched Heaven talk to Director Guan. 'Shouldn't he be scolding her just like how he harshly scolded me? Why is he smiling now? This is annoying.'
