I bet I am even more now
Primo was a fancy man. He booked an entire restaurant just for him and Paula. No wonder Paula was swooning, because this man made her feel special. 0
"So fancy…" Heaven's eyes sparkled, sitting around the round table. "Did you book the entire place just for the two of you?"
Paula was near Heaven while Primo took the spot across from Heaven. She specifically sat on here so Heaven wouldn't be sitting near Primo, guarding what she thought was hers.
"Well, I value Miss Shen's privacy," Primo chuckled, making Paula blush.
"Primo, there are other ways to have privacy without spending so much money," Paula remarked sweetly, chuckling. She then turned to Heaven, all smiles. "I told him to stop doing this, but I don't know about this guy. He likes spending so much money."
"Only for Miss Shen."
Paula cast Primo a look, tucking a portion of her hair behind her ear as she tried to conceal how flattered she was. She glanced at Heaven to see if the latter was jealous of how Primo treated her.
'I bet Dominic Zhu doesn't treat you like this. He might spend a lot of money to rent an entire resort, but I'm sure it's only to keep up appearances,' Paula mentally sneered, looking back at Primo sweetly.
'This fool.' Unlike what Paula thought, Heaven had something else on her mind. 'He likes spending so much money on you because he's buying your life. Once he spent a certain amount, consider yourself paid.'
Heaven's eyes fell on the bouquet on the table near Paula. 'She even brought these flowers here. I guess she truly has a death wish.'
"Anyway, shall we order? We can chat while we're waiting," Primo proposed, waiting for the ladies to nod. When they did, he called for the server, who handed them menus.
Heaven simply glanced at the menu with disinterest. 'I didn't notice this was an Italian restaurant.'
"Uhm…" Paula bit her tongue as she read the menu, catching Heaven and Primo's attention.
"Right." Primo smiled amicably. "Do you need help, Miss Shen?"
Embarrassment flickered across Paula's eyes, but with Primo's understanding aura, she nodded. "It's okay. You can make my order if that is alright with you."
"If you trust me enough, then, of course. I hope I won't disappoint you." Primo nodded in understanding and then cast Heaven a look. "Should I make your order as well, Miss Liu?"
"It's okay. I think I can manage." Heaven smiled innocently. "I'm a bit picky, after all."
"Oh?" His eyes glinted with intrigue. "Alright then."
"Heaven." Paula frowned as she looked at Heaven with doubt. "It's okay if you let him make our order. You didn't have to impress him."
'How bold, Paula.' Heaven bit her tongue, maintaining her smile. "What do you mean, I shouldn't impress him? Your friend needs to know that you have a strong, independent woman as a friend."
Heaven narrowed her eyes at Primo playfully. "In that case, he will know what is coming if he hurts you."
"Heaven, we are just friends —"
"Haha!" Primo burst out in laughter. "Oh, Miss Liu. Do not worry. I have no such plans."
"That's good then." Heaven placed down the menu to the side, eyes on Primo. "I'm just saying, Mr. Primo. I hope you understand since Paula and I are best friends forever. She's very important to me, and I get a little overprotective of her."
"Of course, I understand. If anything, I'm relieved that you care for her deeply." Primo's lips faded into a kind smile, nodding at Heaven reassuringly.
"She's my best friend. That's given." Heaven shrugged, arching a brow when Primo spoke in a different language.
"How interesting."
The corner of her lips curled up. "I bet I am even more now," humoring him in the same language spoken.
His brows rose in surprise before the corner of his lips formed into a grin. "Yes." His eyelids drooped slightly.
"Definitely. I like people who intrigue me, and I am intrigued." Primo leaned forward a bit, eyes on Heaven. "You got the tone of the South, I must say."
"Haha. Do I? Well, I just learned from a tutor to impress someone. So I don't know about that." Heaven shrugged, not giving him the answer he wanted. Although the South had a lower crime rate compared to the North, there were places in the South that were considered the most dangerous due to organized crime.
Which left Heaven with the impression this man was dangerous. After all, they got the same accent and way of speaking the language. Well, that wasn't surprising since Heaven already knew he was suspicious the moment she got a whiff of his scent.
While Heaven and Primo talked, Paula watched in confusion.
'Is she flirting with him?'a frown turned up on her face, displeased she couldn't understand what they were talking about. Heaven's fluency in another language shocked her, yet her envy and feelings of inferiority outweighed this surprise.
"What are you two talking about?" Paula chimed in, making the two look at her. "Can you please talk normally? I can't understand and I get the feeling you're talking bad about me."
Primo smiled kindly, but the words that came out of his mouth weren't. "This girl… just how stupid and dull can she be? She's interesting either way. She makes me think just how dumb can one be. Is that why you're sticking with her, Miss Liu?" He slowly cast Heaven a look, knowing full well Heaven could understand everything he uttered.
'This guy…' Heaven just side-eyed him. 'He's testing me, huh?'
"Primo." Paula pouted at Primo as he continued to speak in another language, despite telling him how it was upsetting for her.
"I'm sorry, dear. It's nothing. We're just greeting in this language like how you will talk to someone who speaks the same language." Primo chuckled, setting his eyes back to Paula. "Anyway, shall we order?"
"Fine." Paula was still evidently upset, but Primo maintained his friendly demure. He even got the nerve to smile at Heaven before calling the server to get their orders.
As Primo made his order for Paula and himself, Heaven just kept her austere eyes on him.
'What… does a man like him want from Paula?' she wondered, not even putting up appearances when Primo looked back at her to tell her to give her order. 'Paula Shen, it seemed you've run out of luck.'
"Miss Liu?" Heaven snapped her eyes upon Primo's call. "Your order?"
Heaven smiled subtly, raising her head to the server. As she pretended nothing happened, Primo kept his eyes on her with an apparent interest in this woman.
