Meanwhile, in the LYON Group Headquarters, Dane Zhang's gaze swept across the faces standing before them. He bit his bottom lips, looking at Dominic helplessly.  2

'They look like a bunch of rogues…' Dane thought, hoping his boss would notice what he had noticed. 'Please don't hire them. They scare me!'

Dominic sat in the armchair, studying the four bodyguards Bear recommended. He told Bear that his old colleague could come to the office within the week. It was a surprise they all came the next day. How diligent. 

Even so, Dominic couldn't help but notice their unique aura. Unlike Bear, who gave off a reliable vibe, these men looked a lot more relaxed. The other one even looked like he hadn't showered his hair for weeks. There was one who looked like he was still in his teen, and then a woman who had more masculine facial features than any of them in the room. The other guy looked normal, though, though he quite had a huge size. 

'A she-man, a fatty, a youngster, and a guy who lacks hygiene!' Dane already labeled them in his mind, unable to hide his reluctance toward these bodyguards. 'They don't seem reliable at all!'

"Mr. Zhang, hand me their resumes." Dominic opened his palm to the side while Dane hurriedly placed the folder in Dominic's hand. 

"Mr. Cruel recommended you to me, but you still have to go through thorough screening," said Dominic as he opened the folders. "I hope you understand that your job, if you were hired, is the most important thing for me."

"Do not worry about it, Boss!" the guy who seemed he hadn't showered for weeks saluted. "Bear Cruel already told us about the job! You can rely on us!'

'That's foolish!'Dane Zhang bit his tongue to stop himself from slamming the man's claims. 'How can we rely on you when you don't even take care of yourself?! Boss… don't hire these guys! He doesn't even know how to salute!' 

Dane prayed deep in his heart, hoping Dominic would see what he was seeing. These men were worse than mercenaries! Even though Dane had already read their qualifications, he couldn't help but doubt it! Bear was an exception, since the general recommended him. However, these guys… there were more trained bodyguards out there!

'They will surely scare the madam, Sir!'Dane screamed in his heart the more Dominic kept quiet. 'The little ancestor might shrug it off, but the Madam might be scared of them! I'm scared of them!'

"You worked in the White House?" Dominic raised his brows, clueless at his assistant's distress.

"I worked side by side with Mr. Cruel," answered the buffed woman sternly. "I also went to the military, but under a different unit!"

"I see… you got an honorable discharge." Dominic rocked his head, judging these people based on their resumes. He then checked the rest. All of them worked in the White House for some time, and then they had different jobs under different politicians internationally.

The only connection they had with Bear was the White House. Other than that, they worked in different places. This woman also worked in the Blue House, which was amazing. 

"You had a position in the central intelligence?" Dominic furrowed his brows, raising his gaze at the man who seemed to have gone from a night out and barely changed his clothes for this job interview. He was the one Dane was more against because of his hygiene. 

"Yes, sir!" the man grinned proudly. "I only resigned because of some personal matter. However, I was in a senior position there, working directly under the chief director."

'Him?' Dane scrunched his nose up in utter disbelief. 'He doesn't look like he resigned and was not kicked out.'

"Impressive." Dominic rocked his head in understanding, moving on to the next resume. Since these men had just come, Dominic hadn't ordered a thorough background check on these four people. Therefore, he could only rely on their resumes for now. 

Not that he would hire them immediately. He was just observing them and, so far, they left quite an impression. It was hard to point out the reason, but Dominic felt the same when he met Bear for the first time. Despite that, these people gave out a different aura, Dominic didn't feel they were lying. If anything, these people oozed confidence, even without trying.

"I like what I have seen so far." Dominic closed the folder after checking their resume, lifting his gaze to the people standing before him. "Mr. Zhang will screen you afterward, so you will report to him for now. I hope you passed the training and screening."

Dominic raised from his seat, standing straight in his stature. "You can follow Mr. Zhang for further details."

"Thank you, sir!" the diligent man with frizzy hair saluted once again. 

Dominic didn't react to the man's diligence. If anything, he simply ignored it and glanced at the rest. 

"Ahem!" Dane cleared his throat to get their attention. "Follow me for the screening."

"Yes, sir!"

Dane flinched slightly at the guys, watching his expression not to show his dislike toward them. However, Dane failed miserably. They could see his reluctance clearly, but the guys didn't point it out. 

"Come." Dane tugged his suit, bowing to Dominic before ushering the new bodyguards out of Dominic's office. 

Meanwhile, as Dane escorted the people out, Dominic went back to his seat behind the desk. He carried the folder, placing it in front of him. When he leaned back, he held the folder before him to reread their resumes. 

"How strange," he murmured, reading the qualifications before him. "They looked more like mercenaries than bodyguards."

To be fair, it wasn't that Dominic didn't see Dane Zhang's reluctance. If anything, Dominic noticed those people's lack of decency in coming for a job interview. They seemed inexperienced.

"Even though they appeared inexperienced, I sort of feel they knew what they were doing." Dominic placed the folder down, spinning the swivel chair he was sitting on to face the floor-to-length window behind him. 

"A stalker, huh?" he whispered, considering the reports he received early this morning. "How strange. There isn't anyone suspicious on the 60th floor. My instincts are telling me…"
