Let's give it a shot.
No one's perfect and Hera had always known that. Even when she was in the underground, the tension, the overwhelming emotions, would beset her. That was when Bear would come in, setting her straight and putting her back on track. 2
She was always been thankful to him for that since then and now.
"Ugh!"
"Cut!!!!" Director Guan's voice through the microphone thundered when one stuntman fell from his harness.
The production staff immediately rushed to the stuntman, calling the medics to see his condition. Accidents happen in the set and thus, everyone moved accordingly. Meanwhile, Heaven stayed near the director's seat, stretching her neck to see the situation.
"That's a bad fall," she muttered, clicking her tongue continuously.
"It's not that bad," Bear replied, making her glance at him. "He managed to use his arm."
"It's still bad."
This time, Bear glanced at her, only to see her stand on her toes to see the situation from their vantage point. Unlike everyone who looked worried, both of them were simply... curious. The production staff was already on it, so there was nothing to worry about. Moreover, it was not like the stuntman would die.
'I'm just glad she recovered.' Bear heaved a sigh of relief, staring at her side profile. 'It'll be bad if she didn't.'
It would either she would self-destruct or she would find something to destroy. Considering what Leo said, Bear was certain Heaven wouldn't easily let it go. If Leo's remarks lingered longer in her mind, he could only think of the worse.
Just then, Bear caught a figure from the corner of his eyes. Arching a brow, he slowly turned his head to the crowd on the side. His gaze instantly landed on Leo Wu, standing among the crowd and looking in Heaven's direction.
'He should stay away from her for now.'
"Damn it." His thoughts trailed off when he heard her whisper. "Does this mean there will be a delay?"
An ugly frown turned up on Heaven's face, dissatisfied at the thought of staying longer in the set because of an accident. If someone else heard her, they wouldn't like her remarks. Someone fell from the harness, so her concern was quite insensitive.
Bear and Heaven stayed near the director's seat while everyone busied themselves on helping the stuntman. The medics came almost immediately, doing first aid, before carrying the stuntman to a stretcher. With the help of everyone and the medic's quick reaction, the situation was settled in only ten minutes.
Even so, for Heaven, ten minutes was too long, as she just wanted to go home. However, she didn't want to just leave. Since she already put effort into this film, she might as well finish all her scenes. It was her last movie; something she could do for Heaven Liu for one last time.
"Damn it!" Director Guan came back to the director's seat irritably. He ruffled his hair in annoyance while some staff were following him. "What do you mean there are no available stuntmen for the stunt?!"
The staff behind the director sported a conflicted look. "Director, there were only a few who specialize in that stunt. So... those who can do that type of stunt weren't available."
"What?!"
"We can either drop the scene or change it."
The suggestion the staff gave brought a deep frown to Director Guan's face. They knew the scene was important and the stunt should be done well. However, since an accident occurred, they had limited options.
As silence befell Director Guan and the staff, Heaven and Bear, who were near it, looked at each other. Bear slowly tilted his head to the side, seeing how her eyes twinkled, as if she wanted to tell him something.
"What?" asked Bear, only to witness how the side of her lips stretched from ear to ear.
"Wait." Heaven raised a hand as a gesture for him to wait, marching to the director's seat. "Uhm... Director Guan?"
"Huh?" Director Guan furrowed his brows and turned his head to the owner of the voice. Not only him, but the staff around him also turned their heads, only to see Heaven approach. "What is it, Miss Liu?"
"I was standing nearby, and I heard you need a replacement for the stuntman, but no one is available?" she inquired, watching Director Guan raise his brows. "I think I know someone who can do that stunt. Although he isn't a professional, he can try."
"Someone?" Director Guan frowned. "Heaven, you saw the stunt and what happened just now. It's a dangerous stunt, so professionals should do it."
"Ohh... but how about we try it first?" she suggested. "I know the scene is important to you and I think changing it will make it less impactful."
Her face brightened up, pointing her thumb over her shoulder. "Don't worry. If something happened, I will take full responsibility, Director Guan. I believe we should try one last time and if it didn't work, I won't meddle with anything anymore."
Director Guan and the staff slowly followed the direction of her thumb, only for their gaze to land on an old man. Deep lines instantly appeared between their brows, thinking this man was too old for this stunt! His back might hurt even before he could jump!
Seeing that Director Guan and everyone were looking in his direction, Bear tilted his head to the side. When Heaven turned around to smile at him, he pointed at himself.
"He's licensed to carry guns around, so he's capable," said Heaven with a full smile. "Let's give it a shot."
"Uh..." Bear blinked and blinked, wondering what was the connection of her last remarks to the stunt they were talking about. It was not like he needed to shoot people.
"Bear, can you do it?" she asked.
Bear didn't answer immediately, turning his head to the side to look at the roof of the private resort. The scene was him running and jumping from it, having to land on the balcony, and then trying his way to get down from there.
"Uhh... I can try?" he looked back at her, glancing at Director Guan and the staff. "Don't worry. If anything happened to me, the production will not be liable."
"Perfect!" Heaven clasped her hand, facing Director Guan again. "What do you think, Director?"
Director Guan pondered, a bit reluctant at her suggestion. He glanced at Bear once again and then to Heaven.
"Fine," he sighed. "Let's give it a shot."
