"Mhm." Paula smiled in satisfaction as she took a sip of the tea.  0

"You like it?" asked Manager Chu, standing on the side of the bed while Paula was enjoying her tea.

"Mhm." Paula snapped her eyes up. "Did you put honey in it? It's a little sweet."

"Yes." Manager Chu smiled, keeping her little secret to herself. "Anyway, is that all you need?"

"Yes. You can go now." Paula blew the steam ascending from the teacup before taking another sip. After a minute, she arched a brow and gazed up. "Why aren't you leaving? What else do you want?"

Manager Chu hummed a long tune before she pointed it out. "Since when did you like drinking tea, Paula?"

"Huh?"

"You weren't into them before, saying they were too bitter and bland for your taste. But when I was cleaning your room, there were a ton of used tea bags," she explained, intrigued. "I know people's tastes change, but aren't you drinking too much of it?"

"What do you care?" Paula rolled her eyes. "If you have so much time nitpicking on me, why not use that energy in getting Director Guan to leave the production, huh?"

"Paula..."

"If you can't do that, then just shut your mouth and mind your own business." Paula clicked her tongue in annoyance. "Such a useless person. Can't even do anything to make my life easier."

Manager Chu's face turned grim, watching Paula leisurely drink her tea. Her fist was tight, loosening them after a moment as she huff.

"Fine. I won't ask for such nonsense next time."

"Good." 

"I'll go home now. I'll see what I can do with the problem with Director Guan."

"Mhm. Good luck with that."

With that being said, Manager Chu stared at Paula for a while before walking away. Being concerned about such a person was useless since Paula was an ungrateful person. Meanwhile, as Manager Chu stormed out of the room, Paula glanced at her with an arched brow. 

"Acting as if she really cares, hah!" Paula smirked, taking another sip before placing the teacup on the bedside table. As she did, she frowned at the IV drip on the back of her hand. 

"Just what was she thinking, calling for a doctor while I'm asleep?" she clicked her tongue, having this strong urge to take out the needle on the back of her hand. However, the pain terrified her. What if she would bleed profusely if she took it out recklessly?

Since she knew nothing about it, her frown deepened. What was she supposed to do once the bag of fluid ran out? Manager Chu didn't say anything about it, making her even more annoyed at her manager. 

"That stupid, useless bitch," she hissed, sprawling her other arm to get her phone. "She's the one who put me in IV. What am I supposed to do now?"

Paula immediately sent Manager Chu a message, knowing the latter was still in the building. However, Manager Chu didn't respond. So she called her. Much to Paula's dismay, Manager Chu's phone was dead.

"Did she not charge it while she was here?" Paula's frown turned uglier, knowing she had to wait for Manager Chu to reach her car and charge her phone. "She always likes it the hard way. Well, I don't think this will run out anytime soon."

She gazed at the bag of fluid hanging on the pole beside the bed, smirking. "I'll just let her drive a little further and then tell her to come back."

Making her manager suffer had become one of her hobbies, but recently, Paula found this hobby even more amusing and satisfying. It was fun to poke fun at Manager Chu or Assistant Lyn. Those two made her feel powerful and having this control brought this indescribable satisfaction in her heart. 

"Hehe." Paula snickered and was about to put her phone back on the bedside table when a notification ring popped up on top of the screen. Deep lines appeared between her brows as another notification appeared, and another one, and then more after that. 

"What's going on?" she murmured, seeing that the messages were coming from the group chat created for everyone in the production. 

This group chat was never this lively, as it was usually all about schedule and locations and all the important stuff. But it seemed they added a channel and everyone was just chatting there. Curious, Paula checked the group chat to see what was it all about. 

The second Paula entered the chat, the first thing she saw was a group photo from one of the staff production. 

"This..." Paula clicked the photo to see it better. 

The picture was a group photo during tonight's dinner. All the long and short tables were full of everyone from the production, and even actors were with them. She zoomed in to see what was special about it. On the farthest side of the picture, Paula caught Director Guan, sitting beside Leo Wu. But that wasn't what truly caught Paula's attention. 

Her lips quivered as they parted, zooming the picture to the people across from Director Guan and Leo. It was Heaven and beside her was Dominic. Although Heaven and Dominic were too tiny from the angle, she couldn't mistake those two. 

"No." Paula's heart thudded, exiting the photo, only to see the conversation on the new channel. 

[Hahaha!]

[That was the most satisfying dinner I ever had in a while.]

[True! Surely, CEO Zhu is the best!]

[Thank you, Miss Liu — I mean, Mrs. Zhu for the dinner!]

Paula stared at the chats that were flooding the channel, dropping her phone upon catching a message that quickly disappeared from the other chats.

[Until now, I'm shocked at this revelation. I've always wondered why CEO Zhu was being mentioned by this person, but it turns out she's a fake. Lol. I guess using people and making up stories is her forte.]

[Shh! She's here and is surely reading this. Hahaha!]

Paula's entire body shook, staring at her phone in horror as it landed on her lap.

"No." She shook her head, thinking about how this dinner went and whether these people talked badly about her. "No, no, no. This is not happening."

Her world felt like crumbling as more intrusive thoughts invaded her mind. Paula reached for the tea with trembling hands, calming herself down by chugging down the hot tea in one go.
