[Bonus chapter]What a dilemma

"I'm still grateful, nonetheless. I never thought I would ever see myself smile the way you did, nor see Basti in a state of bliss for having me as his mother. I don't care about Dominic Zhu, though. Especially Axel Zhu. I have a passionate dislike toward that person."1

Hera instantly frowned at her last sentence. "I don't know if I should be happy about that last part or feel a little insulted. Though I understand why you dislike Axel. There were days I reconsider my relationship with him as well."

"Haha. Dominic Zhu isn't my type." Heaven grinned. "I think Leo is still much better."

"Your taste sucks."

"I want to say the same thing to you, but I'm scared for my life."

"Goodness. You're dead — a soul, both of us. What else can I do to you?"

"You might drag me to hell if you can't go back to my body?" Heaven guessed, tilting her head to the side.

"Good point." Hera huffed as she cupped her cheek, still in the same position of sitting on Heaven's body's back, legs spread like a man, and arms on her knees. "So, you really don't want to come back to your body?"

"Nope." Heaven shook her head.

"Why?" Hera arched a brow. "Just so you know, even if you want it back, you'll have to fight me to death."

"That's why." Heaven blinked before a rueful smile appeared on her face. "But the main reason is because not being in that body means I don't need to deal with emotions. You felt my heart, Hera. So you probably have an idea how intense my feelings were about things, situations, and to people. If I'm in pain, I'm in pain. Just the thought of having them back along with my body terrifies me to death."

She slowly gazed at the body that Hera was sitting on. "Considering what Paula said now, I know for a fact the anger and hate I felt isn't even one-fourth of what I would feel once I return to my body. It's the last straw and I know that for sure."

"I'd kill myself, Hera." Heaven set her eyes back to Hera. "I'm not saying this because I can't feel that much emotion in this state, but because I know I would."

"What a coward."

"I know. That's why there's no point in reclaiming the life I wasted and I'm going to waste." A quick smile reigned on her face. "You wanted to live. You thrive to live even if the entire world wants you dead and even if your entire world is a total hell. Meanwhile, I wanted to die even when I could've lived. Isn't it obvious to let the person who wants to continue on with life have this body?"

"Wow…" the things she heard straight from Heaven's lips rendered Hera speechless. "You're really giving up your life? I mean, your body to me?"

"If I don't, I'm scared of what you will do. I don't want to get haunted by a vengeful ghost all my life."

"Heh." Hera chuckled, pleased at the horror she instilled in Heaven's hollow heart.

Seeing the satisfaction plastered on Hera, Heaven pressed her lips into a thin line, still smiling. "Since I'm giving you my body, can you do me a favor?"

"A favor?" Hera arched a brow. "Bold of you to assume I can remember this favor once I got back into this body."

"It's not bad to try."

"Shoot." Hera jerked her chin. "As long as it is to the best of my ability, why not?"

Heaven bit her lips as she hesitated for a moment. "Can you… introduce Basti to my dad?"

"Huh?"

"Ever since I gave birth to him, I never told him anything. I didn't even have a proper conversation with him. That's why I was surprised at how well you got along with him so easily. I thought he hated me." Heaven chuckled as she lowered her eyes, thinking of how Hera and Sebastian spent their time together. "That's why… I want him to know about my father. After all, they were the most important people in my life."

Hera kept her gaze on Heaven, analyzing the favor the latter was asking for her. As she did, a question resurfaced in Hera's mind.

"If Basti is that important to you… why did you treat him the way you did?" Hera blurted out, watching Heaven raise her head to her.

"Because I love him." Heaven smiled bitterly. "That I cannot accept the person I see whenever I look in his eyes. My reflection in his eyes… the reflection he longs for isn't me. I am not as wonderful as he thought I was. Once he knows how I wanted to kill him even before he was born, I was scared that the look in his eyes will change."

"That is why I wanted him to hate me for being the mother I truly was," she added with a deep exhale. "In that way, I can save myself from further pain. Selfish, aren't I?"

"Uh… yes. I thought I was selfish, but you're on a different level of being trash."

Heaven chuckled. "So, will you do me that favor?"

"I will if I remember and if I can come back into this body." Hera sighed, turning her head in Paula's direction as the latter came back to the entryway. "But before that, we still have a much bigger problem."

Hera slowly rose from the body, standing on the side, eyes on Paula. Heaven also stood up, taking a few steps back to see what was going to happen.

"Ah, no." Hera shook her head, watching Paula open up a huge suitcase. "You're not putting me in a fucking suitcase."

"She makes me speechless," Heaven murmured as her jaw fell open. "Wow."

"No, you're not!" Hera stepped on the body as Paula prepared the suitcase, trying to come back into the body to no avail. "Shit! Damn it! Why can't I go back?!"

"Heaven, what the hell? Help me out here, will you?" Hera ground her teeth, watching Paula reach for her ankle to drag the lifeless body into the suitcase. "Heaven, what are you —"

When Hera looked back, the panic on her face froze at Heaven's grim countenance.

"Pathetic. I will not forgive her," Heaven breathed out, watching how determined Paula was to dispose of her body. "Never."

"I know!" Hera clapped and then pointed at the sentimental soul. "Heaven, this is why you're dead! Murdered. Twice! Because you don't take action! Can't you see I'm being placed in a suitcase?! This is not a movie where we have all the time in the world and even if we are, some protagonists still die in them. Okay? Focus!"

Heaven cleared her throat. "So, what are we going to do?"

"I don't know!" Hera paced back and forth while Heaven stood motionlessly. "Think for me! You got me out of this body, you think of a way to put me back in!"

"Don't worry." Heaven sighed. "Paula is really weak. It'll take her some time to put my body in that suitcase."

"You don't get it, do you?!" Hera snapped at her. "That's one thing, but I'm afraid this body will die without a soul in it and also that injury can't be left unchecked."

"Oh…" Heaven rocked her head, a bit more relaxed than the person who wanted to return to that body.

In the end, both women were left with no choice but to watch Paula drag Heaven's body to put in a suitcase with great difficulty.

What a dilemma.
