She said she was sorry.
Heaven and Dominic's first morning together wasn't a wonderful memory to look back on. Their breakfast at that time was divorced, and Heaven ended up fainting. The second morning wasn't any better because she signed the divorce papers and then Old Madam Zhu fainted.2
The third one wasn't so bad.
Heaven pressed her lips into a thin line, gazing at her husband sitting on the head seat. She was on his right, having a meal together.
'What a morning,' she thought, smiling as she shifted her focus to her plate. 'So peaceful… so gold.'
Peace dominated her face, enjoying her breakfast. Although she wasn't confident her marriage was saved, this peace made her feel she was making progress. Fortunately, Dominic was a man of his word and he was quite laid back, giving her a chance to show her sincerity.
He was truly a generous man — not only in terms of material things but also generous in other areas.
As Heaven enjoyed her meal, Dominic peeked at her. He immediately caught the subtle smile plastered on her as if she woke up on the right side of the bed.
Dominic cocked his head to the side, unable to stop himself from comparing Heaven to how she was back then. Looking back, Heaven was always gloomy. Her face was always dark, and she always looked exhausted. Right now, it was the complete opposite.
Even her aura was bright, displaying how pretty her features were.
'What a morning.' Dominic peeled his eyes away from her, enjoying his breakfast in peace.
Perhaps it was her mood that affected his mood. Or maybe how their morning started. Either way, this sort of mood in the mansion was rare. Thus, they enjoyed it throughout.
Little did they know, as they ate in peace, the servants in the manor couldn't help but whisper among themselves.
"What did you say?" whispered a maid upon hearing the rumor they woke up this morning. "The young madam and the master?!"
"Shh!" the other maid placed her finger before her lips.
"Are you sure??"
"I saw the young madam and the master get out of his room. It seemed she slept in his room last night."
"Are you sure?"
"Even I couldn't believe my eyes. They were even having breakfast now."
There were already maids on standby to serve the madam and the master of the household. However, some maids couldn't help but take a peek. When they did and saw Heaven and Dominic talking to each other, they were utterly speechless!
Five years.
Some of the servants had been serving that long in this mansion and never once did they see Heaven and Dominic casually talk to each other. Let alone sleep together or eat together like normal couples! Therefore, this had quietly shaken the entire manor.

"You didn't have to send me off." Dominic glanced to his side where Heaven stood.
"No way." Heaven smiled, seeing that Dominic's assistant went out from the front passenger seat to open the backseat for his boss. "It's not like I have other chores to do. Sending you off is no biggie."
Dominic just stared at her for a moment, hands on top of the open door. "Alright." He nodded, about to get in before facing her again.
"Hmm?" her brows rose as he suddenly leaned forward. 'What? Does he want a goodbye kiss?'
Her thoughts went wild in a snap of a finger, thinking he would kiss her like what a husband would do to his wife. Much to her disappointment, his face went past her face as he whispered something in her ears.
"Eight," he whispered, sliding his eyes to the corner. "You have until 8 PM to change your mind."
Dominic drew his head back to look at her face. "I won't hold you responsible for anything."
With that being said, Dominic went inside his car while Heaven stayed in her spot. The car idled for a moment and then sped away.
[You have until 8 PM to change your mind.]
Heaven stared at the car's bumper, still standing in the same spot. His remarks rewound in her head, making her sigh deeply.
'I thought he'd kiss me for a second.' Disappointment slightly waved in her chest, but it didn't last long. "What did he mean by, he won't hold me responsible for anything if I changed my mind before eight?"
Heaven tilted her head to the side, wondering the real meaning of her husband's words. They were quite simple and direct, something she should understand immediately. However, her mind wanted to believe there was something else because the conclusion in her head sounded too impossible to happen. At least, for now.
"Whatever." She shook her head, turning on her heel as she jogged her way back inside. As soon as she got in, she called for Miriam and some maids. "Assist me for the day — it'll be a hectic day because we're gonna move some stuff."
The servants could only stare at the madam's bright smile, confused. But soon enough, they understood what she meant by "it would be a hectic day for everyone."

"Sir, about your meeting with Mr. Raynott —"
"I need to come home by eight." Dominic interrupted his assistant as he casually propped his elbow against the window to rest his jaw on his knuckles.
"Sir?"
"Actually, I need to clear my schedule from seven onwards from now on. Move everything in my schedule during those times in the morning."
Dane Zhang almost gasped, looking at the man in the backseat ghastly. Did he hear his boss correctly? His boss wanted to make a huge change in his schedule? Dominic's schedule was already planned for an entire year. In other words, if they moved all his schedules, the ones he had right now would equate to two years' worth since they would vacate his schedule from seven in the evening onwards!
"Bo — sir." Dane sighed in distress. "That huge change… may I know why you're suddenly making this decision?"
"Family."
"Huh?"
"Basti is already four. I read in the book this is a crucial time for a child to shape into what he would become in the future." Dominic kept his eyes on the window while his assistant nodded in understanding. "And Heaven wants to see me more."
"Pardon?"
"She said she was sorry."
Dane just gazed at his boss in disbelief. He had nothing against Heaven, but Dane Zhang wouldn't buy anything Heaven said. A simple apology was not enough to make up for the five years of negligence. However, Dane wasn't Dominic, and he wasn't the person who knew her more than anyone.
An apology… was something almost impossible to hear from Heaven, but she did. It only meant she was 'probably' serious. Hopefully, she was.
'I'll know later when I get home,' Dominic told himself. 'She has an entire day to think about it.'
Little did he know, as he was thinking that Heaven was reconsidering everything, Heaven was already busy moving her stuff into his room.
